Repurposed a table I had, the table top is iron wood, the amplifier shelf will also be an iron wood slab, will repaint the whole table frame black again and keep the shelf and table top varnished wood grain, and took all the advise regarding speaker stands and I am loving it.
It is not a dedicated listening space, but we enjoy it. Took on a massive project and I finally have the base of my listening space accomplished. Next step is to improve the sound in the room if anyone has advice. Square room with vinyl flooring and nothing on the walls. Only thing helping right now is an 8x8 rug and (maybe) some curtains that I have over a big window to the right. I’ll be getting real speaker stands but the ones I want have been out of stock.
Just some afterwork listening. Nothing to really do with my system these days except enjoy it.
Hey all, looking to make a fun little listening space at my new house. Working with a 11’6” x 9’9” space and having trouble deciding how I should lay it out. Here is my first idea - not married to the idea of having a tv in there. What are your thoughts?
I've been working on my home gym / listening room for a few months now. The rug is new and rolls up when I work out. The dumbbells holding up the panels are temporary while I figure out the height I want. All in all it sounds amazing.
Need some ideas of fun things to do while chillen in the spare room. Use the bar for restring guitars then I do for drinks these days.
Lazy rainy day, enjoying some chill tunes.
I know it's cramped. I just finished aquiring everything to finish the setup, I am new to vintage audio in general. During the summer break (I'm a teacher by profession) I'll be building my own turntable stand, with an amplifier shelf. I'm still thinking of speaker stands or or wall mounting the speakers to give everything room to breathe.
Turntable: Technics SL-Q200 Amplifier: Lo-D HA-5300 Speakers: Pioneer S-X33
I've been fortunate to have sold a set of Classic Tannoys recently, acquiring a decent chunk of cash to put toward a much needed speaker upgrade. I've had hifi gear for around 9 years. And I've gone through a fair amount of components in the pursuit/discovery of that allusive audio bliss.
A friend of mine knew I was seriously considering a set of Spendor D7.2 and advised me to get in touch with our murual friend and hifi store owner as he had come across the new Acoustics Energy flagship speaker "Corinium" at a trade show that might just be a subjectively better option for me. And, well. He couldn't have been more right.
I auditioned the Spendors side by side the Acoustic Energy Coriniums. As far as speaker purchases go it was the easiest decision I've had to make in that field. The Coriniums really moved me. I had goosebumps listening to them. They are lively, engaging, subtle and most importantly they were easy on my ears. A complete win from top to bottom. Gorgeous.
I highly recommend them.
U-turn Orbit turntable. The very modest Edifier DB 1200 speakers, are sitting on the adjacent desk, as space is a main concern for this bedroom set up.
The large bass traps are finally here, they are going on the wall this week. Listening to Malia- Celestial Echo, turned up 85db ish. Very heavy bass notes, not boomy at all. Fantastic song to test your system and to get lost in her incredible voice.
Finally bought a turntable. Should’ve done it way earlier. Love how this 70’s Akai fits into my space and the overall experience of vinyl is so much better then digital. Been to multiple record fairs already and off course RSD. Love it.
