Hello - my wife and I will be staying in Vaduz on New Years Eve. Can anyone suggest a good activity for us? We are in our 50s, might not make it all the way to midnight, and getting overly drunk isn't our style, although we would like some alcohol.
Thank you in advance.
My family is driving through Liechtenstein (Andermatt to Munich) on New Year's Day. Anything you would recommend for a short day stop (no overnight)? We are driving.
Besides the Princely Family, are there nobles in your country? In the Prince's website it says the Prince can created «noble titles with the predicate "von" as well as titles Baron and Count» but that they are «rarely awarded», the most recent time being 1979.
So does anyone know any links where I can read about Liechtensteiner nobility? Any official place were nobility awards are published? Any noble association?
Thank you!
Why am I now on Liechtenstein?
Becouse people of Switzerland send me here
What is something that you think everyone should know about your country?
What is your favorite food from your country? Can you give any recipe?
My notes and stereotypes about your country:
-I don't know anything about liechtenstein, only fact that it's one of two two land-locked countries in the world, and it's probably the smallest country where name of capital city isn't name of the country
Which country should I visit tomorrow?
Already visited: Hungary, Romania, Botswana, Israel, UAE, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Venezuela, Argentina, Switzerland, Liechtenstein
Hi everyone,
I’m currently a student in Liechtenstein with a residence permit tied to my studies. However, my permit will expire after I graduate. I’m also working in Liechtenstein and would like to continue working here after completing my studies, but I’m unsure of the options available for staying as a non-EU citizen.
Are there ways to switch my student residence permit to a work or other type of residence permit? Has anyone faced a similar situation or knows what options I could explore?
I’d appreciate any advice or shared experiences!
Thank you in advance.
I am making a series where I cook every national dish and my first step is to come to the sub and ask the question.
now I understand that not every country has a defined national dish and that some countries have many different regions with different cuisines. in that case I will make the one that you guys agree on best represents Liechtenstein. please let me know what you think
Hello!
I am studying abroad in Germany and a couple of my classes got cancelled so I thought I would plan a trip to a place I haven’t been yet :)
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do/ where to go on a short trip to Liechtenstein. I have two full days, but I am planning on a budget (Tuesday and Wednesday if that makes a difference).
I have a global eurail pass so using that to get around would be ideal. I am interested in exploring cities as well as easy- moderate level hikes.
Also- I saw online some people walk across the county. Is it worth it ?
Hoi zeme!
I am soon going to be staying in Liechtenstein for a month and am searching for a pub to have some beers in. My boyfriend and I like these type of worn-down pubs with character and a bit of a rustic, rough feel (so öppis wie eh alti beiz). However, I have only seen "nice" pubs on google maps. :D
Can anyone recommend a pub, which has this vibe I described above?
Also, if there are any other insider tips on stuff to do in Liechtenstein, we would greatly appreciate it!
Danke vielmal und hebed en schöne!
Hello, I am The Brit, also known as TheBritinator. I am very active on Wikipedia and have particularly focused on Liechtenstein for the past 2 years now, and I have created/expanded many of the articles relating to it. I also visited the country myself earlier this year.
I come here asking if anyone here would by any chance have a photograph of Mario Frick (PM 1993–2001) and would be willing to release it under a free license to be used on the wiki. I understand that this is a shot in the dark however I have looked extensively and have not been able to find one anywhere. If anyone happens to have this then please let me know and I would be deeply appreciative as he is the only one that doesn't have an image. It doesn't matter when it is from or the quality, but it is vital that you are the sole copyright holder.
Personally, I would like to find out if this is true or not. In your opinion, do you think Liechteinstein feels like a good place to live in / move out to? Especially the latter, since I’m making my research on places in the EU to move out to.
Hi guys
I’m a photography enthusiast and I’m coming to Liechtenstein for photos!
Like most European countries, I assume there will be Christmas market kiosks in December.
Do you think they will still be there by new year eve?
If not, what will happen in Vaduz’s centre for new year eve?
Thanks 🙏
Like is there any kind of slang name for Vaduz, Schaan etc.? The most I've come across is the occasional 'T'berg'.
I'd love to know if any other places get any kind of nickname
Hi,
As the title says, I'm evaluating a freelance contract with a company in this country.
As the contract will span multiple years, and it's pretty risky by definition, I'd like to run some due diligence /background checks on the company (liquidity, last 3 years tax statements and everything related to the board.)What is the best solution? are there public records accessible for EU citizens? Or are there english-speaking professional services I can get in touch?
thanks fro any advice!
what are yalls opinion on the hereditary prince? did any of you meet him or anyone else of the family who was it and how was it?
Hi guys
My flight is arriving Zurich at 1955 on a Friday of next month. I wonder if you guys know what time is the last bus from Sargans to Liechtenstein please?
Thanks
I am working for a tech/ IT start up, not in a C-level capacity but as a senior manager.
Our CEO is considering opening a branch office in Liechtenstein and wants to move one or 2 sr. managers over.
I know there are industry-specific limits for permits and that chances in the strong financial industry are slim but how about tech/ IT/ ICT? (considering it‘s an industry that is underrepresented in Liechtenstein)
Hey, everyone! Since I learned about the existence of Liechtenstein two years ago in my German class, I want to visit the country. And I plan to do this next year (because I will be in Europe). However, I have a dilemma of when:
- Should I go on National Day? I'm a foreigner, so my chances of getting a ticket to the castle party are low, but even without this party, it seems like a great time in the country. Do prices change at this time of the year?
- I am planning to experience the country, so I will be doing a lot of walking. Because of this, I think summer would be the best time to go. Is this right? Is there any specific good date?
- Any other ideas or things I need to consider for when to go?
What is the process for exchanging a foreign driving license (USA) to a Liechtenstein license? Are there any requirements? Are you required to provide proof of residency?
Spending 24 hrs here in July. What is there to do?
(Also do you have anything indicative of the fact that most definitely the duchy of Grand Fenwick was inspired by you?)
Hello everyone!
I am currently going around Europe with the quest to see football in every European country, with an emphasis on catching the local derby. Obviously, Vaduz play in the Swiss Leagues, but who would the supporters say is their biggest rival? Just so I can plan my visit 😄
Thanks!

Hello r/Liechtenstein!
I'm a journalist working on an article about Liechtenstein for a Japanese journal. I'm looking to connect with people who actually live in or are from Liechtenstein to get authentic perspectives on life in your country.
Some topics I'm interested in exploring:
If you're willing to chat or answer some questions, please comment or send me a message. Your insights would be incredibly valuable for this article.
Thank you in advance for your help!
The timestamp is 0:20 (Though it's only mentioned briefly for a joke)
I don't really know anything about Liechtenstein but I've always though that it's flag is quite cool and unique comparated to the other's hundreds of flags so it was my pleasure to see the country being mentioned in a decently popular medium.

Are there people that organize board gaming nights?
Hello everyone,
I am seeking to know which languages can Europeans learn per country
Thus, which languages can you choose to learn in Secondary school/High School ?
