Why doesn't Liberty climb in rankings?

I looked at the US News reports for "top Virginia universities" and Liberty came out last. I was wondering if anyone is concerned/ thinking about transferring out or going to grad school. I saw the rankings and it was disappointing that we were the last of all nationally ranked schools in the state, and I know that it can't be true considering the education bar here is higher than most of the schools on the list.

Does anyone else's Canva have this announcement in the upper left-hand corner of the dashboard page? - Using Artificial Intelligence Responsibly

I'm writing this because it is my first semester at Liberty University Online, and I got this box; what does it mean? Is it specifically for me, or is it for everyone as a general reminder? this is what the box says:

Using Artificial Intelligence Responsibly

Hello Students!

We hope you are all having a great Fall 2024 semester. We want to provide as much clarity as possible on proper boundaries for using online writing aids that may use generative text Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. It is vital that each student understand how to use these tools, such as Grammarly, in a manner that does not jeopardize their academic integrity and possibly violate the Liberty WayLinks to an external site.. Please see this link for more information on using Artificial Intelligence responsibly.

Please feel welcome to contact the Office of Academic Integrity for more information at academicintegrity@liberty.edu

Thank you!

Online MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Hello all. I am considering enrolling in Liberty's online MA in CMHC degree next Spring. Are there any current or former students of the program in this sub-reddit who can tell me about their experience and what I should know before enrolling?

Online classes

Hey guys! I am new to Liberty (I just transferred in as a sophomore) and I’m currently taking 17 credits. It feels like hell so I’m wondering if maybe taking some of my classes online would be easier? Do you know if they proctor exams?

Likelihood of full funding in Divinity?

Hello all,

I got my MA in mental health counseling from Liberty online and was well pleased with it. Now, I’m thinking of pursuing a PhD in Divinity/Theology (I also have a Masters of Theology from another ATS accredited school near me).

My question is, what is the likelihood of receiving full funding from Liberty for this? Due to certain circumstances, I cannot take any loans, and have no other aid to assist me in this.

Won’t Accept Official Transcript

I am an online student and have completed 15 credits (nearly half) of my masters degree. In August, my student portal kept telling me I needed to send my official transcript. Long story short, Liberty will not accept it. The university I did my undergrad at shows I’ve competed my bachelors on my transcript, but Liberty says it doesn’t show it. I genuinely do not know what to do other than getting the Department of Education involved.

Any information on the American Legal Studies (J.M.)?

After years of completing my Graduate degree, the old fashion way, in classroom. I am thinking of getting a Masters completely on line. However, I would like to know of any students in the JM program that can tell me what I can expect in the form of testing formats and papers needed to complete, and over all learning experience.

Thanks

Coming out at Liberty?

I have been keeping this as secret for a while but I believe that I'm gay. I have not told my friends or family. I know there are other LGBTQ+ people here and its hard to find answers for things that I'm going through. Was it difficult for your parents to accept? And should I even tell them at the risk of them financially cutting me off? My dad is very Christian and even does weekend ministry, not even sure how to explain any of this to religious parents.

If you withdraw from an 8 week course in the second week, will you get a refund?

I'm considering withdrawing from one of my courses, but I will only do so if there is a refund (or a partial refund). I can't find any information about it online.

Delayed Refund

This is my first semester and I withdrew from a class so they had to review my aid and now they have sent my refund as of today. I haven't gotten any communication from bank mobile. How long does it usually take to get the text about them receiving it?

Communication Issues

I am a senior in HS looking to go to Liberty. I love the campus and the community, but Liberty seems to have some big communication problems. I went to CFAW this weekend, and was going to sit in Intro to Computer Science. I was there with around 5 other CFAW students and their parents, and the professor never showed. We waited until around 10 min after class was supposed to start, and no current students or faculty showed. I called the liberty main number, 582-2000, to ask if the class was cancelled, but they didn't know, and there was no one at the Business school front desk.

The question is, does this happen often?

Looking to apply here

Hello, I'm 36 years old and have never been to college before so I'm a bit confused how it all works but I found Liberty university and want to have a career to fall back on. I am a new Christian and I feel like I might fit in better in a Christian school. I will be doing online and was wondering if I could get some pros and cons about the school and what do you feel is the best degree to pursue and why? I am looking at pursuing Christian counseling. Thanks so much in advance everyone.

Online Masters of IT capstone

Does anyone have experience with the capstone? I feel like this degree was alot of theory, which is great, but feel like it could have focused more on coding since I do feel like I need to brush up on my coding languages
before. I’m taking capstone in the spring and was wondering what coding/thesis expectations are

DMin Hours per semester

I'm interested in pursuing a DMin (Strategic Christian Ministry). In order to receive the discounted block rate ($2750 per semester), one must take 7 hours per semester. The recommended course sequence is only 6. Has anyone doubled up during one of the 8 week sessions to make it 9 hours for the discount? If so, how did it go for you? Is that too much to take on? (I'm a full time senior pastor, husband, and dad).

Also, how is the program? I care much less about the title than I do helping me be a better pastor - been at it for 14 years and recognized gaps in my abilities.

Thanks.

Has anyone

Has anyone who is out of school had a problem finding a job with your degree? I'm all set to start in January but when I tell people where I'm going they tell me that the school has a " Raputation" and I'm wasting my money and no one will hire me from LU that they apps that have the collage on them go right in the trash

Is anyone going to CFAW this week?

I’m going to be going to CFAW this Thursday and Friday and was wondering if anyone else was going to be there. My brother said that when he went to CFAW, there were social media accounts where people met online before meeting irl.
