A subreddit for any Lego creation built in compliance with the modular buildings system started with the Cafe Corner set!
Just finish construction on your Modular Masterpiece? Post it here for citizens of the Internet's smallest modular town forum to gawk at!
A 'Modular' is a construction that fits in with the series of Lego sets including Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, and Town Hall, along with many others. However, you don't just HAVE to make multi-story buildings! You can share beaches, sewage facilities, and even dumpster housings!. However, there are a few rules:
Only submissions that are directly related to Modular Buildings are allowed. General Lego posts belong in /r/Lego
No offensive or hateful comments.
All image posts must include a MOC (my own creation) of some sort. This means no 'Look what I got' and 'Check out my town setup!' with the modular buildings in a varying order. MOCs can be connected to the sets in images though.
No selling. Any selling will result in a 7 day ban for the first offense, and a permanent ban for a second offense.
No Ideas/Bricklink Designer Program posts. You can link a MOC that has an attached Ideas/BDP project, but this is not the place to hawk your project for support.
Please report any submissions that break these simple rules, as I will have an easier time moderating! Other than that, build on and Leg Godt!
The basics of building a modular
/r/legomodular
I’ve been wanting to display my city in a glass curio the way you would China plates, but the search for a compatible cabinet has been disappointing. I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a particular enclosed shelf that would work? My thoughts are that it would need to be:
at least 35” across each shelf to allow 3.5 modulars per level, otherwise it gets too vertical and can’t hold much. >10” deep shelves, overall case likely >70”
glass enclosed for dust/tampering
adjustable height shelves for various modular heights (like bugle)
front-opening case so sets can be placed in. Many curios have a smaller side door that is never big enough
The only time I find cabinets that match this description, they are old wooden curios that are extremely heavy and expensive. I figure someone on this sub must have a shelving unit that they recommend and like that is at least similar to this.
Work
Is it still possible to find assembly square 10255 set in stores at the moment? If not, where we can still find it?
So I love the bookshop module, but the house just seems off scale compared to the rest of my modulars. Has anyone modified it or just made something else with the bricks? Need moc ideas for this half of the set, or may just sell the half
So, not even a few days before the botanical garden leak I bought two of these on sale with intent to make a botanical garden. Now I’m considering selling but also looking for ideas on what to use it for. I considered a modular with a glass dome above a rotunda? The skylights and windows will be easy to incorporate. Any inspiration or examples of builds in this vein and will use at minimum the glass dome will be appreciated!!
Pic for attention
Here's a view of my city, displayed in a horizontal Ikea Billy bookcase with glass doors. Left to right: grocery store/furniture store MOC, fake Brick Bank, Bookstore, post office MOC, Assembly Square, Townhouse, logo store MOC, Police Station, and a mashup of Spring Lantern Festival and (an inverted) Chinese Corner by Skyguy365. As I have no more room, the plan is to buy another Ikea Billy bookcase with glass doors and place it on top of this one.
Getting home renovations done and need to remove these from house from November - February. Options are:
Store as pictured in my insulated shed. Not heated, but finished and insulated, will get cold (in Northeast) (preferable option).
Saran wrap, box, transport to climate controlled storage. Obviously more work.
Recommendations?
Hi all, I'm thinking of downsizing my collection due to space issues.
Just wondering if anyone has experience selling Rebrickable MOCs? I've a number of alt builds made using official modulars, as well as other sets, from designers like BrickAtive, InyongBricks, and Brick Artisan. The issue is that I cannibalized the leftover parts into my collection and they've been used across another of builds, so regrouping the original sets is basically out of the question.
Is there a market for these type of sets? I'd imagine they're a bit more niche than the popular official line of modulars.
Any help is appreciated!
The bulk was done 6 months ago, then I procrastinated and today I've finished the roof. The sets I've combined are 60347 (from 2022) and 41732, the Design store half (from 2023), plus a few windows and bricks from my stash.
