/r/legomodular
A subreddit for any Lego creation built in compliance with the modular buildings system started with the Cafe Corner set!
Just finish construction on your Modular Masterpiece? Post it here for citizens of the Internet's smallest modular town forum to gawk at!
A 'Modular' is a construction that fits in with the series of Lego sets including Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, and Town Hall, along with many others. However, you don't just HAVE to make multi-story buildings! You can share beaches, sewage facilities, and even dumpster housings!. However, there are a few rules:
Only submissions that are directly related to Modular Buildings are allowed. General Lego posts belong in /r/Lego
No offensive or hateful comments.
All image posts must include a MOC (my own creation) of some sort. This means no 'Look what I got' and 'Check out my town setup!' with the modular buildings in a varying order. MOCs can be connected to the sets in images though.
No selling. Any selling will result in a 7 day ban for the first offense, and a permanent ban for a second offense.
No Ideas/Bricklink Designer Program posts. You can link a MOC that has an attached Ideas/BDP project, but this is not the place to hawk your project for support.
Please report any submissions that break these simple rules, as I will have an easier time moderating! Other than that, build on and Leg Godt!
The basics of building a modular
/r/legomodular
I got back into LEGO this past June when I picked up Everyone Is Awesome, and it’s been such a fun journey since then. I had my eye on the Sanctum Sanctorum and decided to wait until Black Friday, but I missed out before it sold out.
I made a post on here looking for Black Friday deals, and someone (shout out u/gambitloveslegos shared that the Boutique Hotel at 20% off at Target. I jumped on it immediately, excited to finally start my modular adventure.
Unfortunately, the package was delivered a day early, and the delivery driver ignored the sign asking for packages to be left in the package box. Instead, they left it on the front steps. Within 20 minutes, someone grabbed the giant box and ran off.
Thankfully, Target refunded me, which I really appreciate. But now, the set is now sold out at the $171 sale price.
Just venting here—it’s disappointing, but I guess the Lego city will have to wait for another time
It's based on the apartment complex that we live in. The "brick" of the walls are sort of due to the lack of white 1x2 plates, but it matches how it looks in real life (the construction company did a sloppy job).
does anyone know if i’ll be able to bring my own legos from home on an airplane?
Do the modulars ever go on sale for Black Friday? I had been hoping to pick up the Sanctum Santorum, but missed out before it sold out everywhere. Looking to pick up my first modular still, would love to take advantage of Black Friday sales this year if possible, but I'm not sure if it's something that ever does go on sale.
Hey everyone! I would greatly appreciate your opinion specifically on modular buildings. I have one of every building to sell (selling massive collection for sons’ college tuition), all of which are currently built and 99% complete (like maybe a piece of fruit missing, or a single ornamental brick). I have the boxes and instructions for all-back to Market Street/Green Grocer. Would it preferred to purchase these assembled or disassembled? For smaller sets I would always do a Bricklink inventory, build it, photograph it, disassemble. But for these, I am second guessing that approach.
To ship, I would disassemble into layers, bubble wrapping each one and support with packing paper in new cardboard packaging. I’ve shipped 400+ new sealed sets so far without any issues.
Thanks for your input!
Pretty good deal but the total was 499.78 and it included a membership fee of 39.99 but there was an additional 10% off the 230 price still a decent deal
But the modulator it is a component or it is the part fundamental of the game?
Some modifications
Moc of archeological sight with glass walking bridge for visitors.
To mark the end of my city.
for context I had the fire brigade when I was younger, then took it apart and mixed all the pieces around in my collection, scribbled on some and put others into mocs. Since the set is now very expensive, I thought I'd try making a downsized version as it would be easier to try and build with the parts I have.
The biggest change aside from halving the size is that I extended out the back by a few studs in order to fit in the stairs, which I had to move back in so I could fit the front door. Unfortunately there wasn't room for the pool table.
I'm looking forward to building this soon and will post more pictures when I do so.
What is the best modular to get as the first time building one. Ie price and playability/fun building wise?
I’m starting to unbox and build my Modulars. While I’m starting from scratch, I’m also making MILS plates. So as I’m prepping the plates, I wanted to make sure there wasn’t another base plate and freaked out when I saw what I thought were the instructions for the 3-in-1 Jet. I panicked until I opened the baggie and saw that it was just an ad. 😂😂😂
