Hoi, I've posted this in r/vaud, but there 10x times as many redditors here. I'm in one of the smaller communes in the Lausanne district (Chesaux/Epalinges/Jouxtens/Le Mont/Romanel) and going through the ordinary naturalisation process. I'm alone in the process.

I used to live in Vaud in the past, where I integrated a lot with local people and associations. Went to events, learned french "on the job", the usual. I can even bring up one reference for that.

The thing is, nothing of this had happened in my actual city. If I was living in Lausanne, I would had no issues.

Since moving to my current place, I have done very little in terms of integration. Going out to attend events is no longer an (easy) option due to family complications and personal health issues. Not that my village has any events related to my personal interests.

I've read that in Schwyz you can be asked crazy things, like to name the foundry where the village bells were made! But I am not sure what to expect about Vaud in specific.

What should I expect to be asked during the interview? Is the "big" interview the "rapport d'enquete"? Apart from the "why do you want to be Swiss," should I expect historical questions, apart from the A-Vaud-Test? Questions like "do you know the local baker"? How can I integrate apart from buying at the local bakery if no events of personal interest take place?

I have no issue about conducting an interview in general. I love talking to to people and can usually adapt to situations. I can talk for hours on various topics on Switzerland, even if I don't know the subject. I am mostly anxious about "showing integration".

Bonsoir, je me suis récemment intéressé à l'observation d'étoiles/ciel, j'ai essayé d'aller à l'aveugle au Chalet à Gobet mais manque de bol j'ai pas trouvé de zone assez dégagé où les arbres ne cachaient pas la vue et en plus le ciel était trop nuageux. Donc si quelqu'un à de bon spots "hors du millieu urbain" pour observer les étoiles à Lausanne c'est volontiers ! (Et si quelqu'un a aussi des conseils pour assurer/vérifier les meilleurs conditions météorologiques posssible c'est volontiers aussi 😁)

J'aimerais beaucoup aller voir des films à la cinémathèque de Lausanne, une à deux fois par mois et aller boire un verre après pour discuter du film, avec quelques personnes. Est-ce qu'il y a des clubs existants qui proposent ça ?

Le but pour moi serait de me motiver à faire une activité, rencontrer des gens et discuter sur nos ressentis, sans que ça soit un truc hyper intello non plus.

I've been living in Lausanne for almost 2 years now. French has been a challenge but slowly improving.

My wife has been visiting time to time and we've reached a stability point where it would make more sense for her to move here.

Unfortunately her French is basic at best. She is however fluent in English. She works as a project manager for an IT company.

I have searched a bit (Olimpic committee, Uefa, Philip Morris) in Lausanne and around (Geneva is still an option).

What I would like to know is what companies tend to hire people speaking English only. Job spec can be Project Manager or Business Analyst.

Edit: Desolé d' écrire en Anglais, mais je pense que cela a plus de sens pour le public cible 🙂

Mostly that the crime rate has become higher over the last months and that the city is not in a good situation now.
