Anyone know or have heard anything about 7brew opening on the south side (where the old Pizza Hut used to be). The article i saw on google said “according to google it should be open December 1st” but that clearly did not happen nor can i find their “according to google” source (thought it may have an updated opening date). Anyone know anything about it? I’m anxious to try them!! 👀
I’m honestly confused about this.
For context, I don’t work in or have ever worked in Lansing. I am employed but in a different city in Michigan. I already pay city income taxes in the other city where my job is located (it is automatically taken out per paycheck) and I recently moved to Lansing within a year ago.
I closed on my home in Lansing at the very end of 2023, on December 5th. I technically owned my home as of December 5th 2023, but we did not actually move ourselves into the home until January 3rd, 2024 due to renovation work.
I have not been contacted by anyone regarding delinquent city income taxes (no mail, no calls, nothing). I figured that I did not need to file for 2023 as I was not actually living here until 2024. But now that I am thinking about it, I’m not sure if the closing/ownership of the house in December 2023 constitutes Lansing residency. If so, would I have to file 2023 Lansing city income tax documents for the 26 days I owned the home in 2023?
Is there any way for me to see if I owe these taxes to the city? Should I call them? Would I be getting any sort of mail about this if I owed these taxes?
11pm I'm just trying to sleep, and this idiot decides to play games with their vehicle backfiring down the street.🤬 I sure would like to know more information on this vehicle. The last time I noticed this was about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon, and I believe it was a Black Dodge Challenger, but could be wrong for this distance. Or it could be another vehicle, not surprised if there are a couple of them.
I'm certain the Catalytic converter metals are blown out (or removed), and the [Check Engine] light is ON from the destroyed (or removed) oxygen sensors; they'll blow off their muffler, if it's not already a custom exhaust just for the purpose of backfires. But next they'll destroy their exhaust valves and require a new engine build. 🤔🤦🏻♂️🙄
I already have PTSD, and hearing repeated backfires at 11PM doesn't help at all. I live in a peaceful neighborhood on the Southside. That vehicle(s) are not native to this area, never heard them start up leaves or return to their home around here. But they just occasionally drive past as they attempt to ruin peacefully nights.😳🫤😖
Does anyone possibly know:
I have been dying to find someone who gives a good textured middle part, but I need to get away from jackson as I’ve tried multiple places to no avail. Any recommendations??
Does anyone know of any empty locations or spaces like a garage of some sort? Preferably dark spots. I'm helping make a video for a friend of mine
Couldn’t help myself after the earlier post, sorry OP. 😬
I was about 15s far enough to miss the actual collision, but you can just make out the woman being ejected from the back of the bus following the collision. There was barely anything left of the front of the red truck. She was lacerated pretty bad, it was nuts.
Hello everyone, I was just looking to see if any of you are going to this event on Sunday?
I know Lansing struggles with kitty overpopulation, but this sweet boy has been weighing on my heart with winter fast approaching. He showed up about a month ago and has been hanging out on my back steps. He is so beautiful and has the sweetest personality and I would adopt him in a second if I didn’t already have three cats. If anyone is interested in possibly giving him a home I would pay to get him fixed and any medical care/vaccinations he may need. I’m planning on taking him in to get fixed soon anyways. I know there are a lot of Lansing kitties that need homes, but he really is special and would make a lovely pet. It breaks my heart seeing him on my back steps every morning just wanting some love and attention. 😭
Thank you to all of the kind people who made excellent recommendations last spring…this was the most memorable summer of her life! But that window had closed and I’m now looking for any recommendations for someone with virtually no vision at all. Picture of our last trip for attention!
I know you can make an appointment online but can you still walk in? Haven’t been there since before Covid.
Maybe it's just recency bias, but there seems to be a growing number of non-Lansing related posts in this sub. I like coming here to see what is happening on a local level. I don't care about a party at bell's in Kalamazoo and I don't care about Biden pardoning his son. There are other places I can go for that stuff.
I want to know what's happening around here, what's new in town, what issues people are having with things related to Lansing, new restaurants, date ideas, etc. Someone made a post about not supporting right leaning businesses. Whether you agree with that or not, that's a good post as it's related to Lansing businesses.
This is a weekly post for any events or goings on around the Capital area community this week.
If anyone is subleasing or knows somewhere that will offer a half year lease last minute please lmk, thanks
Looking for below $1300 a month in the lansing/el/okemos area with preferably one bed/studio (but can do more if necessary)
Hey everyone I’ve only been here a year and. A half but haven’t been homeless for that long so I’m unaware of the resources here involving places to keep warm
I’m aware of shelters like “the outreach” but due to chronic back pain I can’t sleep in a hard school chair all night & the “city rescue missions” beds are full & I’m out in the cold with me & a backpack
I’ll be out of this homelessness as soon as winters over so I’m just gritting through until then

does anyone have recommendations for places to get eyebrow threading done around the Lansing area? I prefer this over waxing because i use trentinoin and prefer not to take large breaks in use due to purging every time i restart. thank you!!
Why doesn’t UofM/Sparrow put the reindeer and Santa on the roof anymore?
Edit: they have been grounded to Michigan Ave in the front of the professional building. But why?
I'm not sure if this exists yet, but if not, can we start a list of business owners that knowingly support Trump and the MAGA movement? I want to make sure I'm not supporting anyone that supports fascists/fascism.
Looks like maybe a drive in restaurant going in where they tore down Pizza Hut - anyone able to confirm, refute, or elaborate?
Wife and I want to go out for a good steak, but don't want to pay Bowdie's/Capital Prime prices. What's everyone's recommendations?
I am moving to the Lansing area specify Haslet in about two weeks. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for good bars to hang out at for metal and rock music. I know avenue has it sometimes and Macs are there any other places? Also are those two places good to hang out at?
Hi! I’m looking for a place to have a group of about 20 people for lunch after a baptism. If it was summer I would book a pavilion at a park but I’m having trouble finding a similar indoor option. We’d be happiest to get food from Costco and serve that but also are good with a cheap lunch (like pizza or something).
If anyone knows a place that I just am forgetting about I really appreciate your help!
I’m going to need to put my vehicle in a shop, I’m preparing for maybe a week at the longest. I’m wondering what some reputable car rental places are and what to watch out for in the Lansing area. Thank you for your help!
I have a clear prostitute pickup spot in front of my house. I've got several ppl on camera picking up women, and ample proof from the last 2 years. Idk what to do. I don't feel safe in general, but plan on having kids soon. The last thing I want is these guys eyeing my kids while looking for their fix. I've reported to lpd but not much came of it. I'm extremely frustrated to say the least. What can I do?
Any other Eastsiders having an issue?
