Motorcycle driving school recommendations

Are there any motorcycles driving school in the area that also provide a motorcycle to get experience on. Want to buy one, but first want to make sure I can legally ride it on the roads. Thanks in advance.

Free Dog and Cat Vaccine Clinic On Monday 10/7/2024

Copied from Capital Area Humane Society's Facebook.

"Capital Area Humane Society, along with Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter, will be co-hosting a Free Cat & Dog Vaccine Clinic on Monday, October 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the South Side Community Coalition Side Community Coalition, located at 2101 West Holmes Road, Lansing, 48910.

The following will be offered:
✔Free wellness exams
✔Free rabies, distemper, and lepto vaccines
✔Free Pyrantel (de-wormer)
✔Free microchips

We will see up to 200 pets, on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment necessary.

All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier.

If your pet(s) has had previous vaccines, please bring their vaccine record(s).

There are no county restrictions to attend this event."

Having attended a few of these vaccine clinics in Arizona, I'd like to include some tips that make this process a smooth one if anyone is planning on attending.

-Expect to be waiting at least an hour or two before being seen and be prepared for the wait. Bring plenty of water for you and your pet.

-If you can, bring an extra pair of hands or two, especially if you have more than one pet. You'll likely be filling out paperwork and it'll be easier to fill if you can have someone who can handle your dog that you can trust with while you fill out paperwork. I don't know what the set up is here but it might not be a good idea bringing small children to an event like this.

-In addition to bringing your dogs on a leash, bring any additional tools that your dog needs in order to be seen. If you think your dog would do better with a muzzle, bring one with you.

-Do not bring a cat to any place without a carrier; especially in a place where there will be dogs present.

-If your pet has behavioral issues, does not do well with strangers or, in the case of cats, is feral; do not waste your time bringing them to these events. If the staff cannot safely handle your pet, they will not be able to provide services. Consider establishing them with a vet that can offer pre-visit medication.

Hopefully this will help anyone in the community who needs some free basic healthcare for their pet.

Is Potterville, MI safe?

Hi, single female with dog looking at a house on Potterville. The houses around look a bit shabby/unkept on this street. I am an avid walker too. Is Potterville primarily safe? I live in Grand Ledge currently. Thank you

Looking for THE must see/do spot(s) between Lansing and Detroit

Hey all! I'm flying up for the weekend for a friend's wedding on Saturday and will be staying in the East Lansing area. My flight doesn't leave until late late on Sunday, so I'm looking for stuff to fill my downtime before I head back home. I won't have the time to head over to the Holland area or up north to the beaches, but looking for any hidden gems you can suggest between Lansing and Detroit for the day. I'm a photographer, so anything picturesque is great! (And anywhere that parking isn't a nightmare is even better ;) ). REO Town Marketplace looked cool - is that worth it? Fav record shops, a place with stuff that's native to the Michigan area (like if someone went to visit New England I'd suggest an apple cider donut, or suggest some BBQ in NC), really just something that a Google search isn't gonna tell me is a Top 10 that anyone and everyone else can find/do.

Thanks in advance - I appreciate the help!

Dinner plans for Saturday

Hello all, I have a group of people, about 15, coming in to town for an all day event that ends around 4:00 p.m.

I’m looking for recommendations on where to have dinner afterwards. I realize prices for decent meals are going to be steep nowadays, so prices are not a big concern… as long as we can stay under $20/ person or so.

My big thing is just, well… I don’t wanna eat at Applebees lol. I’m a bit of a “foodie” and I like unique stuff that I can’t make at home better myself. We also have some lame-o’s that probably won’t go for anything like, Ethnic/ moderately spicy.

Any suggestions?

Another pic of Big Penny’s breakfast this morning.

Just switched jobs and I’m working on Pennsylvania now, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go too long before seeing Big Penny eat!

Auto Detailer recommendations?

I try to keep my car pretty clean, but it's getting kinda grody inside, and I think it needs a professional touch for the upholstery and nooks & crannies. Any recommendations?

Also, I don't know how deep of a scratch auto detailers can typically help with. I have one that cut to metal and looks like a thin line of rust. I think I might need to just DIY this one.

I was looking at Stars and Finish Line.

I find it rude that GM had work/life balance commercials while they make their employees work 6 days a week

Kind of a slap in the face. If they're running 3 shifts why do they make them work Saturdays? Give these people a weekend for christ's sake. People deserve at least 2 days to relax from a labor job.

Where should 20-something, single professional live in Lansing?

Which apartment complexes are good for young professionals? Which neighborhoods? When looking at Stadium and Old Town Lansing listings, the reviews consistently note the crime problems. Is this a serious issue? Other areas? Not seeing a lot of non-student housing in East Lansing? Any recommendations? (Would like in-unit W/D, dishwasher, etc. )

Calling cvs

If you ever need to call directly into cvs in okemos (target) hit 8001 when the robot starts talking and it gives you to the pharmacy. Figured I'd share this because I hate having to leave a voicemail and waiting HOURS to get a call back. If they even do.
