romance with a trans masc/man mc

I'm looking for one of those silly romances with a trans masc/man as one of the main characters (or both), it can me mlw mlm or honestly any other combination needs on the light hearted side doesn't have too much angst or transphobia in it being trans as integral and important part of the story but not the main one (more romance story than discovering ones self story) preferences written by a trans author not many sex scenes if any

recs for found family with romance?

anybody have recommendations for found family books with a romance subplot ? Preferably wlw but if not, thats fine too!!

some that have hit the marks:

  • all for the court by nova sakavic
  • six of crows by leigh bardugo

i’ve tried reading the naturals by jennifer lynn barnes but i didnt like the writing or the characters, but i loved the plot and i could see the found family potential if that makes sense. there was also a love triangle which im not a huge fan of..

i also dnfed the gilded wolves because i liked the plot alot, but something about the characters didn’t fit together for me. the dynamic felt a little forced..

i like more of the heist type plot/mystery solving plot, but im not too picky as long as the found family is good and theres a bit of romance! even if its only implied. I’m also not the biggest fan of sci fi or super high fantasy, but im willing to give them a shot. YA and adult are both fine with me as well!!

WLW YA/NA High Fantasy

Hi all! I'm looking for, essentially, different books that follow these beats: princess/queen from another queendom arrives, romance between the local princess/queen starts happening, political intrigue and magic, and then the crown is held by FMC at the end. I ADORE The Winter Duke, Queen of Ieflaria (this author has pulled all her books for re-editing, I intend to read her others), Of Fire and Stars. I essentially just want to keep consuming this over and over (forgive me, creators!!)

Things I've also read and enjoyed but don't fit the requirements: Jasmine Throne, Orange Priory Tree, The Fate of Stars, the Fae Queen's Captive, Princess of Dorsa, Markless, Bone Shard Daughter (more of an honorable mention bc the lesbian couple were side characters).

Tbr list as of posting: Malice, Ammonite, Nightshade, Iron Widow, Ice Massacre; I know these don't fit the prior criteria I'm looking for. But I super want to read the same idea/novel type in between all these. Like slipping into a warm bed on a cool night sigh~

Thank you all!!

Books where the relationship is either quickly established or already established

Basically where the story has the characters already in a relationship rather than following their journey to becoming a couple. I read Against All Odds and I thought it was really good. Light on smut or none at all would be preferred.

Mia thought her first bounty-hunting gig was going great—until she got stuffed into a suitcase.

So what happens when a complete rookie somehow gets hired by the most feared mob boss in town? Well, in How Not to Be a Bounty Hunter, the answer is: nothing good.

Mia is desperate to find her fathers, and the only way she knows how is by following in their footsteps. Her first dip in the world of crime? Track down a runaway drug dealer who’s stolen from the wrong people. But the deeper she digs, the messier it gets—turns out, finding the woman wasn't the hardest part of the job.

She should probably rethink her life choices, but Mia's best and worst quality is that she's stubborn and would do anything for the people she loves.

If you like:
🔥 Crime thrillers with tension, banter, and romance
🔫 Enemies-to-lovers, and morally gray sapphics
💰 Humor, high stakes, and page-turning action

Then our debut novel might be up your alley! You can read it on Kindle Unlimited, or find it discounted here: https://a.co/d/3VX5CjV (the sale is available in the US and UK marketplaces for the next 7 days)

If anyone gives this a shot, a review or a rating would mean the world to us ♡

Thank you for your attention, and have a lovely day!

Reality Bleeding - Lesbian Cyberpunk/GameLit Novel

Hey everyone I'm Charli Kou ☺️Reality Bleeding is my Lesbian Cyberpunk/GameLit novel that I've released on Amazon. It's also being released in audiobook format on my YouTube page. Please do take a look 👀 and it's free on Kindle Unlimited!

Here is the cover synopsis:

A game so immersive that you feel every cut, hear every arrow whizz by, and even smell the burning forests after a raid. It's the perfect escape from a harsh, unforgiving reality. Lucy dives into Gates of Baraadon, a VR massively-multiplayer online roleplay game (MMORPG) that fully engages the senses via a direct neural link to the brain. But when her closest in-game ally is killed in a sudden, shocking battle, Lucy is left reeling. Back in the real world, emotions from the game refuse to fade away. She’s about to discover that this world isn’t just about levelling-up but surviving when the boundaries between game and reality bleed into one another.

If Ready Player One and Lord of the Rings had a love child together and it was raised by William Gibson and Sword Art Online; Reality Bleeding would be it.

In this debut novel by Charli Kou, they ask – when a game is so intense that it feels real - what happens when you can't switch off? Exploring the complexities of love, loyalty and intimacy in a dangerous technologically advanced and morally ambiguous world - Reality Bleeding embraces the core of Cyberpunk - by examining the human condition in the face of radical technological and social change.

You can find it on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

If you're interested to try it out first - I've also placed the first 10 chapters in audiobook format up on my Youtube channel

Overpowered lesbians

Any recommendations out there for sapphic books with an overpowered FMC? I'm talking assassins, mafia, witches, ANY genre. Just a crazy powerful MC and they damn well know it.

I've read Ruptured Light by K.R. Richard The Blood We Spill by Jo Havens And The Nevernight Chronicles.

I'm craving more kickass lesbians.

Queer, Disabled, Cosy Fantasy Novel [self-promo]

Hello, otters. I’m a 40-year-old bisexual agender thing with a suite of disabilities I won’t bore you with. I wrote a thing you may enjoy—a cosy fantasy novel featuring multiple trans characters and a polyamorous central romance.

I’ll post the book description below, but if anyone fancies giving it a try, it’s currently available to read for free via BookSirens. A key inspiration was Legends & Lattes, if that’s your sort of thing.

Also, if anyone knows of other queer cosy fantasy novels, particularly those with disability representation, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Book Description:

Queer disabled joy.

Emotional pain manifests literally around Laceco. He doesn’t know why—perhaps he was cursed when he crossed the Ember Trail.

He’s tried living as a hermit in the mountains, hoping the wild magic wouldn’t ensnare anyone else. He managed a month before the wild magic teleported a new victim into his shack. He tried running, but he couldn’t get very far thanks to post-viral fatigue.

He’s drawn to the Ember Cavalcade, a nomadic caravan run for disabled people, by disabled people. Laceco needs to rest and recover, but the wild magic manifestations—his emotional pain taking on physical form—won’t stop. The wild magic seems to want something from him, and he won’t be able to live with himself until he learns what.

I written a gay story inspired from my experience

Hey everyone! 😊 I hope it’s okay to share my book here. What Hid Inside is a story about identity, the weight of unspoken truths, and the struggle to understand oneself fully.

It’s a work of fiction, but some elements were drawn from real experiences, which made writing it even more meaningful for me. If you like introspective stories with complex emotions and a touch of mystery, you might enjoy this one.

Here’s the link if you’re curious: https://www.amazon.com/What-Hid-Inside-Kazimir-Volkovici-ebook/dp/B0DVDH4WGW/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.v0MmaYArYC1NY7GZdJyKyw.YCTf6uT0UxW6g1Vs4RaeH5WGOzJGueLI_SNGOw_aQqI&dib_tag=se&qid=1738256059&refinements=p_27%3AKazimir+Volkovici&s=digital-text&sr=1-1&text=Kazimir+Volkovici#detailBullets_feature_div

Thanks for letting me share, and happy reading! 💜📖

Queer Reimaginings

Hello! I'm currently reading "Angels Before Man" by Rafael Nicolás and was looking for more recs of queer reimaginings. I know of a few, like Wain by Rachel Plummer (currently reading as well), The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (havent read), The Dark Wife by S.E. Dimmer (havent read), and Peter Darling by Austin Chant (havent read). Are there any more? Which do you recommend?

WlW boom recs.

I have a real issue with being picky about what I want to read. I prefer books with some level of sapphic representation, but I have read a few books without it. I love witchy books, some dark academia, and mystery. I often enjoy simple romance books, but I have to be really in the mood for it. Right now I'm just dying for a book seeries I can get lost in. I just finished reading the Truly Devious seeries which has queer representation but it's not predominant. The last week I have DNF'ed so many books, I'm feeling very picky right now apparently (my adhd makes me get real stuck in certain vibes). What are your favorite seeries to get lost in? I also really prefer contemporary, and don't love a lot of fighting/war, and it needs to be audiobook. Ok go!

Old Wounds by Logan-Ashley Kisner

I just finished this book and it was so fun! It's about 2 trans teens on a road trip to California who get caught in the Midwest in the middle of nowhere and have to fight bigots who are trying to feed them to a reality bending cryptid monster that eats sacrificed girls. The focus of the book is the two main characters as they look back on why they left their home town in Ohio, why they're on this trip at all, and what they have to look forward to in California. It explores their individual experiences with being trans and coming out and dealing with their families. It explores how they relate to each other, as exes who broke up due to their differing trans experiences but who have lingering feelings and want to reconcile.

I loved the horror aspect of the book and how the bigots were scarier than the monster. The fact that the monster eats girls was also a fun concept, as the characters and their captors debate if it would eat the one that is a girl or the one who is AFAB. It taps into the bone deep fear trans people feel right now with gender affirming care being restricted and transpobia on the rise, but ultimately drives home the message that fear will only weaken us.

If ur into Hell Follows With Us or Camp Damascus vibes, I would highly recommend Old Wounds

Sapphic book recs

Hello!

I'm looking for books that feature a MC who doesn't realize she is attracted to women but figures it out and gets the girl at the end.

I prefer minimal angst but i know its a product of the genre lol

Anything from YA to full on smut is perfectly fine, both are great in their own way.

thanks!

Books about closeted transfems? (Fiction)

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for fiction from the POV of closeted trans-fem characters?

This post I found has a lot of the same specs that I'd like to see (Though I'm not as big a fan of the "Cynical and miserable" personality the OP there was looking for), but all the recommendations in the replies are for Trans-Masc characters. Obviously, the Trans-fem experience is very different from the Trans-masc experience, and I'm hoping to find some fiction I'd relate to.

I'm not picky over genre, though some fantasy elements would be more than welcome!

What is your niche read?

I've seen a few niche read questions lately (asexual, masc/masc) and given that one of mine is 1800's same sex, I thought I'd see what else people like to ferret out of the plethora of choices out there.

I found a wlw lactation read once, which was...interesting .

Help a girl out: Hot tip for sapphic fantasy books with deep third pov/immersive pov.

Specific question, sorry🙏

I'm writing a novel from the deep pov perspective, and though I have read multiple books from different perpectives, I'd like to know I you guys have any tips for w/w fantasy books with Deep/Immersive third person perpective, preferably past tense and by a queer author.

Bonus points for fantasy romance instead of romantasy. It has to be deep/immersive though.

If you're not familiar with this pov, then please don't bother answering my question, but you may want to read the booktips⬇️ I expect there will be a certain fire within these books🔥😉

Masc4Masc Lesbian Romance

Hi!!

I was wondering if I could some recs for books involving a FF relationship where both characters are masc or androgynous looking. Good plot and writing would be a huge plus too! The genre of the book doesn't need to be romance, just featuring the relationship is good enough.

I appreciate you all, Thank you!💜

Books like Red, White and Royal Blue but parents are alive

I'm getting a couple of audiobooks for a friend who recently lost his father, and I'm looking for a very cute and an easy listen romance. I originally got him Red, White and Royal Blue without realizing that one of the characters has a dead father (I don't want to risk potentially triggering him). Any books that are fun like this where the parents are alive?

Books similar to the The Back Passage by James Lear

Hi all,

I recently read The Back Passage by James Lear and loved it. It’s hilarious and explicit and brilliantly ridiculous. Can anyone recommend similar reads?

He wrote two follow-up books but they didn’t strike the same chord unfortunately. I also enjoyed his other book The Palace of Varieties.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions 🙏🏽

I'm looking for some good fantasy/gothic/witchy novels written by someone that's not a straight cis man, or conservative.

EDIT: Thank you all so much for your suggestions and responses!🖤

I didn't expect to get so many answers and recommendations! This is a wonderful community! I'm checking out every book that has been mentioned and adding most of them to my "to read" list! You are awesome! Thank you so much!🖤

Hi! First time posting here! I am in dire need of some distracting. Going through some stressful times at the moment and I would like something to clean the sour taste my latest readings left me with.

I'd like something with a gothic vibe, maybe witchy, maybe some fantasy (I accept dark fantasy, but I would prefer not getting into a novel that involves SA at the moment, please). I would love it if there's some sort of queer representation in the novel!

I do not want to read anything written by a cis man right now. I'd much prefer if it was written by a queer author, though something by a straight cis woman that is not a bigot conservative can work as well.

It doesn't have to be a romance, but I'd accept one. I also accept some spice, but please no SA. I don't want to deal with that right now.

Would someone here be so kind as to suggest me some titles?

Thank you so much if you have read this far!🖤

Recommendations?

Hey all! I have been really interested in reading more queer literature and just don't know where to start.

I am a pansexual trans woman.

I do love a good romance/drama but the main thing I'm looking for is maybe anything on queer history/philosophy.

People, places, events that were/are important to our struggle and fight for equality would be really cool.

Or just give me your cute little love stories, I'll be happy with anything. Thank you! ♥️

ISO a book with a storyline about a transfemme falling in love with a eunuch. Doesn’t happen until later in the series.

I thought it was the Graceling series but I’m unsure. I know the protagonist of the series was a woman. I read it in high school I think? Like well over a decade ago.

EDIT: FOUND! It was a book called Eon.

Very good book- I absolutely recommend it.
