Are you 18 years old or over and transgender, non-binary, gender fluid, gender non-conforming, agender, or do not identify with the gender you were assigned at birth in any other way? You are being invited to take part in a research study for my Master's dissertation at Oxford Brookes University.
It is completely anonymous and involves sharing two memories, a few statements about yourself, and two very short well-being scales asking to rank some statements and words.
The tasks and the scales will take 15-20 minutes to complete.
This study aims to address the gap by providing a better understanding of how gender transition impacts memories and constructions of the self – an area that so far has been underexplored.

Pansexual trans girl here- trying to break out of a yaoi/mxm related state of media reference and was looking for any good specifically sapphic/lesbian books people would recommend- I’ve currently finished two books, Always Human and We were promised Spotlights- the former was mostly fluff and the latter was a bit messy but I enjoyed from a drama perspective. I wanted to leave this open for any and all other wlw related book suggestions, thank you for any and feel free to comment below ^^’
Hi! I am a queer library science graduate student researching the practice of putting rainbow spine labels on LGBTQ library books. How do you feel about these label stickers? Do you think these stickers should exist? Do they do more to help LGBTQ readers (i.e., facilitate access to LGBTQ materials) or hurt (i.e., potentially out readers)?
Hey All, Stephanie here again;
With only a few days left of data collection we would love to hear from you if we haven't already. Thank you to all those who have taken part already, it is much appreciated!
My final year dissertation project is on the memories LGBTQ+ people have of their coming out experience. This is a really novel area, and we would love to hear from you! We are collecting new data on this topic so please do not participate if you have done so already. This study is open to anyone who has experienced coming out at least once and will take roughly 15 minutes of your time. This study has been approved by the Psychology Research Ethics Committee at Oxford Brookes University. All questions you might have, as well as more information on the study itself can be found in the participant information sheet, which you can read on the link below. I’m more than happy to answer any questions as well. If it is not permitted to repost links in this manner on this page, please let me know and I will remove this post.
Thank you for your time and I hope you check out the questionnaire!

Compiled and cited statistics about the struggles of trans people in the United States
This compilation is intended to raise awareness of the severity of the struggles faced by transgender people in the United States.
I have only just gotten started on this document. If you have more info, please just drop the link to the statistics in the comments. That's all you have to do, and I will add the info, with citations.
I can only do so much at once, so I've put my collection of uncited links to more info at the bottom as a "to-do" list. Even without being properly cited, they will still be useful resources.
I, of course, also welcome any corrections to errors I have made in citations by commenters.
Before I begin, I want to offer this link: Findahelpline.com
It is a repository of helplines from around the world, including those which specialize in LGBT+ issues. As helplines are often overloaded, and sorely needed, especially by the trans community, I thought that raising awareness of the existence of this repository would be a good idea.
All information is cited according to the style of the APA (American Psychological Association) which is used in Education, Psychology, and Sciences fields.
Glossary:
Transgender: Transgender is an adjective used to describe people who have a gender identity that differs from the gender assigned at birth. Transgender is often shortened to trans. Don't say: “transgendered” “a transgendered man” “she is transgendered” Transgender is an adjective.
Cisgender: Pronounced “sisgender”, this is the term for “not transgender”. Trans means “cross or far” in Latin. Cis means “same side” or “this side” in Latin, and is the antonym of trans. This is sometimes written as simply “cis” for short.
Trans woman: A male-to-female trans person.
Trans man: A female-to-male trans person.
Non-binary: Having a gender identity that is not male or female.
Enby: Noun. A non-binary person.
Amab: Assigned male at birth. This indicates that the individual was born with a penis and had “M” written on their birth certificate.
Afab: Assigned female at birth. This indicates that the individual was born with vagina and had “F” written on their birth certificate.

Hello.
There is plenty of historical evidence in Western culture, demonizing homosexuality and transsexuality. I'm wondering though, when did the first academic or psychological defense of homosexuality and/or transsexuality arrive?
I'm sure a psychologist, anthropologist, etc., would have been jeopardizing both their career and freedom in doing so, but there had to be a first. I'm wondering when that was.
Thanks in advance for any help on the topic.
Reading the latest issue of Senses of Cinema, I was so pleased to see it focuses on the role and influence of queer film festivals! Highly recommend checking it out: https://www.sensesofcinema.com/category/pride-on-the-margins/
