So long story short, I want to get off opioids (codeine) that I've been relying on for my back injury. I tried kratom and it had a similar effect with a bonus effect of helping me feel alert, which i haven't felt in over two years because of the opioid grog. However, even though I was on a low dose of 1-2 grams every 4-6 hours, I would go to sleep, wake up and have the worst headaches ever, worse than if I'm taking codeine. I get migrains semi-frequently, but these headaches were something else, and covered my entire brain it felt like. I stopped it but had to rely on the opioids again and really don't want to. So, I got the green strains sample pack from kratom earth since the reds and whites were definitely a no go lol. Whites, maybe once in a while when I need a switch to prevent tolerance buildup.
Please, I really need to kick these meds to the curb and kratom has been literally the ONLY other thing that's helped, and I've tried a LOT of other drugs. Both prescribed and not.
Posting here for accountability reasons and to share my story in case someone else might get something out of it.
I've been an addict for the last few years (3?) I started with 3 grams daily and eventually stabilized close to 15-20gpd until around the last week or 2.
Since a bit before Christmas I've been taking 6 bottles of extract daily. The last two days I've been sick as a dog because of the extract consumption but I get severe anxiety while sober so it's been easy to justify both the financial and health costs of getting high, but I'm so so tired of feeling nauseous all the time and spending 60$ a day on shit drugs.
I know tapering is going to suck but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to stick it out and sober up to some extent. Just to a point where I'm not always sick at least.
Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask any questions or give me shit in the comments. I plan to post daily until I'm at a more sustainable place in terms of my consumption.
I have recent started with Red kratom and am now upto 9 grams for a usual dose, however i am going though my kratom way to fast. Will I get the same effect off taking a lower dose say 3 or 6 grams?
I started taking kratom red maeng da (~2.5g 2-3x per day) about two and a half months ago. My experience has been truly phenomenal. I am more social, less anxious and seem to have a desire to be productive. My first realization of this was how confident and eager i was to message my dating app crush while i was on it LOL.
I started taking kratom to have a vice to indulge in every once in a while ( i dont like alcohol or weed) and definitely not thinking i would take every day. But, i cant help it! Ive been home from college the last month and i can tell my parents and friends are enjoying my presence more than the usually would. Im just a more fun guy when i take kratom haha. It truly makes me more of an extrovert rather than my natural introverted self.
Im writing this post because i am curious to hear about similar experiences and how long these positive effects lasted for different kratom users. Also, would love to hear tips on how to prolong the effects to keep the magic!
I've been taking Kratom for 4+ years now. I've only taken one complete break for a week, and was okay. That was in the first two years. I was up to 9 grams (a day) last year. I've been able to get down to below 1G of kratom a day now. It has taken two months. Now that I am down to 500mg even trying less, I feel my ADHD has kicked up a notch.
Anyone else with ADHD experience an uptick in symptoms when cutting way back? Tired, can't focus, nothing is interesting, not motivated, careless, making mistakes (due to focusing issues), overstimulated (then exhausted) are some of what I have felt the past two weeks. I realize it could be multiple things and reasons, life choices, etc, but it came on seemingly relatively quickly once I went below 500mg and shortly after becoming sick with the flu, but since have recovered (edit) from the flu. Anyone?
I understand that nano=much more finely ground, resulting in the effects coming on quicker but I'v seen mutliple strains from mutliple vendors described as "micro." I actually have a "micro green."
I'm generally new to kratom and don't know all the terms.
With the high fiber content, how on earth do you guys take a dump?
It's been rough (no pun intended).
Plain leaf kratom tea powder is a lifesaver
I've been using plain leaf kratom tea powder since 2015, and it has truly been a game-changer for me. After struggling with pain and discomfort for years, this natural plant gave me the relief I was looking for. I typically mix 4 grams in hot water a few times per day, and I take breaks to let my body reset. It’s amazing how such a simple leaf can make such a big difference without the issues often associated with other options. If you’re considering trying kratom, stick with plain leaf—it’s effective and straightforward. I'll only use extracts on bad days in conjunction with powder.
I'm fairly new to kratom and particularly new to small batch vendors, but glad I found out about those guys.
Anyway, I have a question about consistency. With the strains and names being bullshit it seems the only way to categorize Kratom, in terms of whether it's more sedating or more uplifting and all the other qualities that everyone speaks of, would be by batch. Ofcourse a certain batch is only avaliable for a limited time.
How do you guys ensure any consistency of effects? Do you just buy multiple batches and figure it out each time?
Like I said, I'm not very experienced with Kratom, and it's hard to say if there even are different effects between strains. From my limited experience, it seems like the subtle differences are there, but it could be placebo.
Thanks!
After reading about manganese and heavy metal presence in kratom, I don't think I can comfortably continue the doses I was taking and am currently tapering down quickly. I love this plant, and I have had an on and off relationship with it for the last few years, but I am getting sick and tired of the scares and I (am starting to) value you my health too much to sacrifice it for a few hours of checking out each night. I've read about the ridiculous manganese presence in certain products, and, while my gut tells me that there will likely be no ill effects (the extremely high levels were contained to only a few of the products in the study), my brain is telling me to back off.
Does anyone know the following:
A) Which blood tests should I seek to get tested for heavy metals, including manganese? B) How can I get these blood tests (with or without a doctor)? C) Where I can get kratom tested for manganese as a consumer?
Thanks. I know this topic is controversial on here, but I'm not sure where else to go.
Does it make sense to take agmatine sulfate on off days (4 days per week) if I only take kratom 3 days a week to keep tolerance as low as possible?
So it's been a good while since I started kratom. This plant helped me with a lot of things. And that's why I'm posting this post here. Because I didn't quit because of anything negative from kratom. I quit because my plan was to get off doing opiates/opiods every single day and letting them control my life. I used kratom to get off fentynal. This is why I am grateful for this plant. I was using up to 20 grams a day of kratom. I got down to 8 grams a day. Using 4 in the morning and 4 at night and on the last bag I had I told myself that I wouldn't take anymore. Since I haven't took any I haven't noticed an horrible withdrawal symptoms like I did with fent. Kratom is good and people do not need to get it banned. It helps people 100%
I have seen people making Kratom tea in creative ways—some even using coffee makers! What’s your method for the best flavor?
I have a naturally high tolerance to opiates (I know kratom isn't an opiate but it's similar).
The highest I've dosed is 7.5 grams to very little effect. Almost nothing. I understand the pharmacodynamics of kratom and I'm wondering if I up my dose will it give me better effects or will I just hit the ceiling effect?
Thanks in advance.
Frustrated with Kratom...
I've been using Kratom 3 days a week for several months: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1 6gram dose in the evening.
I exclusively use Reds and over the last 3 weeks the insomnia it's causing me is super noticeable. I'll take my dose around 7 or 8 and find myself up till 1, 2, sometimes 3am.
I know it's a diuretic but it's also been causing me to get up literally every 10 minutes to pee, even the slightest urge I get up to pee drops. I'm sure this isn't helping with the insomnia.
I was so exhausted Saturday morning from this happening Friday night that I said fuck this and haven't taken a dose since.
Is there anything I can do to mitigate this? I love the positives it gives me but I can't deal the negatives anymore.
I’ve heard people say less is more with kratom and I’ve also seen kratom not be as effective if not taken at a higher dose so for the people that have actually cut there use down how was it better then at the higher dose
3 tsp daily spaced out 2 hrs each. Is this a fairly low dose or middle of the road dose?
Has anyone found that certain strains or certain brands of kratom make there hair fall out more or less. I had covid three months ago and started losing hair one month or so ago. Also the same time I started Kratom. Any help on this?
Has anyone tried the gold kratom strain? A friend suggested that, saying it would help me feel good. So, just wondering if anyone could enlighten me about it and share their experience.
I have been hearing a lot about the benefits of microdosing in general, and I am curious if anyone has tried microdosing Kratom to maintain a consistent, balanced effect without overwhelming stimulation. How has it worked for you?
Hi new user of kratom here, all my life I've battled with extrem emotional pain sensitivity. Don't want to get in details because that's not the focus of this post, but I want to avoid kratom tolerance, is there anything I can use to cycle with? I don't think stuff that lower anxiety will help because my anxiety is caused by pain and treathing anxiety just doesn't really help. I tried paracetamol and yes is great when it works but idk sometimes I just don't feel it, tried palmitoyletanolamide worked great for 1 week then nothing. So I'm out of ideas, can someone please help? please if you have to write "get therapy" restrain to writing thx
For me, probably 20g.
Thank you to everyone from the kratom and 7OH community who submitted questions! Editing nightmare, but it was a blast!
