XWine1 (Xbox One): Trickshotting in Peggle 2 with Kinect (Windows)

Early look at WIP Kinect implementation in XWine1 (Xbox One translation layer for PC)

Voice commands are not implemented yet, so we're using a gamepad to shoot the ball. Everything else is being controlled with the Xbox One Kinect.

C000009C/red light

Any troubleshooting tips for this?

My next steps were to possibly hook it up to a PC and see if the SDK provides any insight but I don't really know anything about that!

Problem with Kinect 2 on Windows 11

https://reddit.com/link/1i6qpq4/video/t8t2j6lmdeee1/player

Hello,

I have a kinect 2 that I want to connect to my pc using windows 11.
I bought the adapter, connected the kinect to my pc, installed the runtime and then the sdk brower 2.0 and then, while running the "kinect configuration verifier", the process just stop and the window close with nothing happening.
Any idea of how to fix it ?

Xbox 380 Kinect disabling all of my audio

So, whenever I download the drivers for the Kinect, at some point it just disables all of my input and output devices. I tried to disable the audio device, reinstalling, and other common things, but it still doesn't work. What is causing this to happen?

Is Kinect a Feasible Device for Spatial Scanning in 2025?

I'm looking for software that isn't 10 years old that could use Kinect hardware to scan spaces into meshes or point clouds.

I'm just out of date with the Kinect, but happy to see this Subreddit still has active people hacking and developing.

Driver 4 vr Kinect 360 Problem

I have a problem with Kinect and SDK 1.8 because I’m using Kinect for DIY VR, specifically for hand and head tracking. I installed the SDK and Driver4VR, and it worked initially, but something stopped working, and now Driver4VR no longer detects it, only throwing an error. However, Kinect Studio works fine. I don’t know why this is happening because Kinect is visible in Device Manager, but in Task Manager, I only see the Kinect Management Service. As far as I know, there should also be Kinect Service and Kinect Monitor. I don’t know why that is. I’m attaching a few screenshots for reference.

Beginner Looking for Ideas and Help with Kinect 360 🙏

Title: Beginner Looking for Ideas and Help with Kinect 360 🙏

Hi everyone,

I’m new to working with Kinect and just got my hands on a Kinect 360 (Kinect v1). I’m super excited to explore its creative possibilities, but I’m hitting some roadblocks and could use your guidance and advice.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Project Ideas: What kind of visuals or interactive experiments can I create with the Kinect 360?
  • Beginner Resources: Are there tutorials, guides, or communities specifically for Kinect v1? Most of the content I find (especially on YouTube) is either for Kinect v2/Azure or too advanced for me to follow.
  • Depth Cloud Confusion: I can’t get the point cloud to work. Is this feature exclusive to Kinect v2 and Azure, or am I missing something?
  • Improving Accuracy: The Kinect isn’t capturing data accurately, and interactions feel laggy or choppy. Any tips to optimize it for better performance?

I’m also starting to learn TouchDesigner and would love to hear if anyone has experience using Kinect 360 with it. I really want to create something fun and exciting to keep my motivation up as I dive deeper into this world.

Any advice, resources, or even small beginner-friendly project suggestions would mean a lot. Thank you so much for your time and support! 🙏

Cheers,
A Kinect Enthusiast in the Making 🎮

Kinect as camera on Xbox

Is it possible to use the Kinect as a camera on an Xbox? Either Xbox one or Xbox 360? I want to record my living room for a few minutes. I tried the windows camera app on Xbox one but I got an error message when I tried using it, even though I gave permissions to the camera as well as mic.

Kinect 360 as WebCam (Windows 11)

Hello, I was wondering if there's a program or sofware that I can use to enable my 360 kinect as a webcam (what I mean by that, is so other programs recognize it as a web cam like google meet or discord without the need for OBS)

I have tried many things but it seems that they are only meant for windows 10 and did not recived support for windows 11

Any help will be appreciated

Is Dragon Ball Kinect enough enjoyable ?

Hello,

I’m wondering if Dragon Ball Kinect is enjoyable and playable ?

I know there were a lot of bad reviews for this game at that time but I have seen some video of gameplay and it looks not so totally bad and as a big fan of Dragon Ball since as a kid it’s really interesting the concept and reminds me Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Wii (This is probably better though).

So I’m wondering if Dbz Kinect has decent recognition and if the gameplay with Kinect is enough enjoyable and playable.

Many thanks.

[HELP] Kinect v2 on Windows 11

So I have had my Kinect v2 device working on Windows 11 for a while now, and starting like 2 months ago it just stopped working. It didn't matter what USB device I plugged into or how many I had plugged in. It just either does get detected or it will rapidly disconnect reconnect and make the noises and it doesn't stop unless I take it out. So I bought a PCIe USB 3.2 card thinking ok maybe that will fix it. Nothing it doesn't make a difference. So I decided to plug it into my Xbox One X which also needs the adapter so this would tell me if the Kinnect or the adapter was busted but no it worked perfectly on my Xbox. Any ideas?

Model 1517 Kinect for Windows - Not enough Power - Power Supplies Not Available Either?

Hello

I've got a Kinect for Windows Model 1517.

I purchased a supposed compatible power supply from Amazon. The Amazon power supply only outputs 12V 1.08A.

Upon trying to get the device to function with libfreenect, both with a Raspberry Pi, and with a Linux machine running Zorin, I continue to have a blinking green LED, indicating a power issue.

I've tried to look on the internet for power supplies that supply 2 Amps, but they don't exist.

What am I missing?

So, I got a Kinect 360... now what o.o

Basically, by sheer chance, I got my hands on a full set of XBox 360, controller and Kinect - and all of them in really good condition!

I know that the Kinect's main claim to fame is depth sensing (RGB-D) and that it can be used for gesture input and alike (I heared VTubers used to use Kinects for the basis of tracking).

So, I am very curious! What can I do with this new found device? As a software dev, I looked at libfreenect1 already - but I haven't really seen any project that seems to explicitly depend on it... Any lists or pointers to neat things I can do with the Kinect on my PC (win10)? (I am searching for a usb+power adapter already - that much I already learned!)

Thank you!

Kinect Xbox 360 is reconnecting to my PC and don't work (Windows 10).

Hello, I buyed Kinect Xbox 360 for VR (Driver4VR). I got Kinect and power adapter, connected all this to PC to USB 3.0 (blue), after try USB 2.0. I installed drivers - Kinect_Runtime_v2.2_1905 and Kinect SDK-v2.0_1409

AND I CANT CONNECT THIS:

- Green light on Kinect always flashing every 1-2 seconds.

- In Device Manager I always see, that Device Manager Windows always restarted (every 5 seconds) and hear sound of disconnect (every 20 seconds). I see in "Other Devices" - "Xbox Kinect Audio 2011 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved" and "Xbox NUI Camera", nothins else linked with Kinect.

- In Kinect Configuration Verifier (in SDK) - Kinect is not connected.

- In USBTreeView (program) I see that "Xbox Kinect Audio 2011 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved" and "Xbox NUI Camera" connected to port in USB 3.0 and after 20 seconds disappered and I can't see this until I'll reconnect USB (this happen also in USB 2.0, all USB port don't work"

Please, help!

Kinetic for windows 11?

I wanted to know what i could do with my old 360 kinetic. Can you do things like control your cursor from a distance like you could on the 360? I heard the xbox one kinetic has facial recognition for windows hello.

Just wondering what I should do and if I should buy a xbox one version instead.

Also I'm fairly good with running code and stuff if that is needed.

Is it possible to connect a Kinect 360 to an android device?

I was wondering if it is possible to connect my xbox kinect 360 to my phone using the usb-c and transmit the video stream to my pc on the network. Is there any existing driver for interfacing kinect and android or is it better to use a sbc for this process since kinect does only 30fps max.

I have tried the kinect development toolkit and was just experimenting whether it is possible to have kinect transmit data to the pc remotely

3D scanning platform test and more

Hi this my test with the kinect V2 to scan in 3D with a turntable (with the Microsoft 3D Scan program), this was tricky when I left the kinect still, because it didn't recognize motion, so I reduced the scan depth and put some references to the platform, then it finally works.

The glass you see in the video is for a test of reducing the infrared LED to see any change (there were no observable changes).

I also modified the fan to make it work and it won't overheat, here is the video tutorial:

https://youtu.be/9p1HJmBb82Q?si=mRUadEOW7FCa0QhX

Finally the scanned model is actually not very good, it lacks greater precision, maybe it is a software issue of the 3D scan, but I really do not know how to program a new one.

Maybe it gives better results when moving it, but it's not the idea.

Do you know any other programs compatible with the Kinect V2? Let me know!

How to use an xbox 360 kinect to control a projector with hand gestures?

Does anyone have any idea on how I could possibly do this? I was recently given an xbox 360 kinect and didn't really know what to do with it until I was watching netflix on my projector the other night and after fidgeting with 3 different remotes, wishing I could just use hand motions instead. Does anyone know if its even possible to hook up an old xbox 360 kinect to my walmart roku projector so I can make a cool show piece for my house and stop using 2 remotes to control what I want to watch? All I want to work are simple gestures for things like "volume up/down" "pause/play" "scrolling through shows by waving my hand, then either pushing or closing it to select whatever im hovering over". Seems super complicated but at the same time I feel like its easier than im making it out to be since the technology has been out for a few decades now.
