Has anyone done the extended warranty for the 3L V6 GDI Theta? Kia had extended the warranty to 170,000 miles due to the leaky head gasket. That’s insane for the record…
Curious if anyone has gone through the process for the engine swap? Did you get hassled by Kia?
Found a 17’ and it’s used and has a leaky head gasket, but the car is otherwise pristine. I’m tempted to buy it if the engine swap was easy.
We own a 2023 Kia Soul GT line, when my wife drives it she says it turns off when stopping at red lights then starts back up when shes ready to go on green, i told her shes crazy its never happened to me, until i witnessed it with my own eyes as a passenger, any idea what this is? and why it doesnt ever happen to me while i drive.
I got my oil changed yesterday, and also had the cabin filter replaced. While leaving the service center (not dealership), I noticed my blower motor was not working. I went out once or twice more during the day and it worked fine.
This morning I started my car and defrosted (-5 here in NY today) as I normally would have. I came outside a few minutes after the 10 minute shutoff and had no blower motor when I started back up. I had this problem once over the summer with the A/C but it only lasted one run cycle. I replaced the blower motor relay today and it immediately came back on at the next cycle but did not come on at all for the rest of the day after several stops around town.
Does not matter what setting I have it on, no blower whatsoever. I do not feel any heat from the vents at all.
There are at least 2 10A fuses and one 7.5A that refer to the blower motor and blower motor relay. I would think if a fuse was blown it would not be working intermittently, correct? I have yet to check those yet because I'd be frozen solid within 10 minutes.
Anything else I should try? I'm probably going to wait a day or two until it gets above freezing to try the fuses. Today is the coldest weather we have seen so far this year, just my luck! Thank you all in advance.
Just found this car online that I like. If you visit the tab "imperfezioni" (imperfections), pic #22 shows a strangely worn/damaged door cover. Could it be a sign of flooding?
I have a 2017 Kia Niro EX with a DSG in which my owner's manual states:
- SAE 70W, API GL-4 fluid
- Change every 75,000 miles
The last time the transmission fluid was changed was around 70,000 miles. It is now at 103,000 miles.
I'm reading various opinions online that I shouldn't change it at all or that I should change it at 75,000 miles or I should change less than half the distance. The problem is that I'm noticing lack of smoothness when auto-shifting through gears. You can feel the car jerk slightly as it changes gears. No noise, no check light, nothing. So I want to change out the fluid to be safe.
Also, there is no shop around me that has the compatible 70W fluid. If Kia dealership opens tomorrow, I'll probably get their version. Otherwise I'd have to order in the Redline MT-LV 70W-75W. Are there any alternatives I can use?
Firstly, apologies if posted in the wrong area!
Looking at getting a new car and have been looking at Ceeds but don't know much about the specs.
Any advise would be helpful but mainly looking at the following models (all manual)-
1.0 T-GDi 2 Euro 6 (s/s) 5 Dr. 1.0 T-GDi GT-Line Euro 6 (s/s) 5 Dr. 1.0 T-GDi 3 Euro 6 (s/s) 5 Dr. 1.4 T-GDi 3 Euro 6 (s/s) 5 Dr. 1.5 T-GDi 3 Euro 6 (s/s) 5 Dr.
Also similar in XCeed.
How do they drive? Any issues? Best for regular motorway driving? Etc etc.
Thanks in advance.
I purchased a Kia Sportage 3 months ago, just reached 4000 km. I am wondering if previous holders of Kia Sportage had any issues with this model? As i heard is quite clumpsy, but until now nothing to blame it.
My brand-new KIA Carnival (₹83 lakhs, just 1,300 km driven) has a fuel system issue and has been at DKH KIA Kannur for the past 10 days (since 12-12-2024). Repair costs ₹6 lakhs, and parts are unavailable in India. I need my vehicle on the road within 3 days!
This delay is unacceptable. please provide an alternative Carnival for transportation until it's fixed. Ensure spare parts availability in India for such premium cars. Urgent action needed!

Hi there,
So I’ve changed my battery in my key fob but it’s not working. I’ve seen you need to reprogram the key by putting it in the ignition but mine doesn’t have one, only a push to start. Had another look and it said the ignition should be in the centre console or glovebox. Anyone have any idea what I can do or where this ignition should be?
I looked into the manual but has no info of the speakers other than the settings by adjusting it in the stereo.
I am considering new speakers, my car came with Harlan Kardon but I would like to know the RMS watts for the door speakers and for the stock amplifier.
This way I can have an idea if the amplifier can handle more powerful speakers or if I need to replace the amplifier as well.
Hi! A couple of months ago I bought my first car: a 2012 Kia Picanto, about 80k km (about 50k miles) and paid €5k (about $5200). What do I absolutely need to know to keep it as good as possible? Thanks 😊
So I just went onto kiafinance and deferred my payment which reflected on my account immediately. It now says nothing is owed until next month, but is that it? Am I going to owe double next month or just my regular payment? Right now it just says $0.00 is owed. I also see where my little payment tracker went from 50 payments left to back up to 51 so I’m thinking everything is good?
On friday, i was on my way to new york to visit family, when i had noticed that my 2017 kia sportage was running strange. I check the oil and it’s bone dry. But the check engine light was on. Not the oil light. I fill the oil and go back home because i had a bad feeling. When i get to my local kia dealership, i take it in to services and they had just now told me that my piston four was blown. Apparently the walls of it were damaged and the piston is fucked. I wonder if it’s worth buying a new car, or just getting a new engine for it, like the dealer told me i should. What should i do?
I have a 2015 Soul with the 2.0 G4NC engine and am wondering if anyone here has experience rebuilding them?
All I can find is rebuild kits that include the crank, pistons and rods for around $400 which seems waaay too cheap. I’d prefer to rebuild what is in the car instead of buying a used engine with potentially the same issue which is using 1 quart oil per 300 miles. I’ve rebuilt a few engines so I’m not worried about the process, just the quality of available parts
I just bought a ‘25 Sorento S a couple weeks ago, and barely have 250 miles on it.
Today I got into the car, turned on the car, shifted into reverse, and the camera looked like this (see pic). Anyone have any idea what’s going on?
FWIW I tried to turning the car off and on again, but the camera still looked the same. I also went to the back of the car to take a look at the camera itself and nothing seemed amiss.
Any help would be appreciated (I will probably take into the dealer anyways, but wanted to get an idea of what’s going on here).
Recently got a new engine for my 2012 Optima. This part, along with some screws, was left in the trunk underneath a pile of winter tires and the dealer won't answer my emails when I ask what this part is.
I already drove about 600km not knowing that this part was in the trunk. Any idea on what this might be?
The van smells like rotten eggs a lot. We took it to the dealership to check out and they said they went through everything and did not find any problems. Any ideas?
Any recommendations to fix this
Hello, I recently got a 2009 Kia Soul AM CVVT 1.6, but have been facing problems with it ever since. It has an LPG injection system installed, OBD scan shows the following errors:
P0036 (H2OS heating control unit, Bank 1, Sensor 2),
P0030 (H2OS heating control unit, Bank 1, Sensor 1),
P0420 (Catalyst system low efficiency)
and P0172 (system too rich).
The car's RPM is very low in idle state (400-500), Check Engine light is illuminated on the dashboard; I am getting an almost doubled fuel consumption, either while driving on petrol or on LPG (11L/100km interurban on a nominal of 5.7L/100km). The previous owners said the catalyst and the pre-cat O2 sensor have been replaced prior to selling the car. I measured the pre-cat O2 sensor's heater element which showed 6.5 ohms, while the post-cat sensor showed 14 ohms. I turned on the engine and measured the voltage fluctuations on the signal/ground circuit of the pre-cat which were rising, I think, very slowly (3 minutes from 0.2 to 0.8V). I left the pre-cat disconnected and the Check Engine light disappeared from the dashboard. Does this point directly to a faulty pre-cat O2 sensor, despite being new or should I look for another problem as well?
Thanks in advance.
I bought a 2024 Kia Telluride EX not realizing that was the base model of the Tellurides. I’m wanting the entertainment system perks that the upper trim levels have. Is there a programmer that can give me that? If so, what is it & where do I get it 🥲😇
Has anyone ever seen this issue in their car and know how to fix it?
I'll be in the market for a gently used car soon. Options I'm considering are Kia Soul, Audi Q5, Mazda CX-5, and Acura MDX. (Wild range, I know.)
I've always had a soft spot for the Soul, and I currently have one as a rental while my regular is in the shop. I don't need to tell you all the things I love about it (there are many!), but here are two questions I hope someone can help me with:
I have a 2023 LX model, and the halogen headlights are ATROCIOUS. Am I safe to assume that if I spring for the LED headlights, those will be much better? I know there are retrofit kits, but replacing OEM headlights is legally iffy.
The car seems to have trouble establishing a Carplay link with my iPhone 14. It communicates fine via Bluetooth, but I basically have to forget and set up the phone fresh every time I get in the car. I love everything else about Kia's interface. Is this a known issue, or do I just have a glitchy unit?
Turbo! I'd love to get a 2020-22 Turbo model, just for the hell of it. With the rest of the car being decidedly un-sporty (torsion beam rear suspension, FWD, box shape, etc.), are these things a terrible idea? I LOVE how Kia basically said, "Here's a 1.6 turbo engine from another model and a DCT, have at it, good luck!" Just the best kind of weird. But if I'm setting myself up for a terrible ride, I'd just go with the regular engine. Are the the turbos fun?
Thanks in advance!
I just bought a new 2025 K4 EX+. Does anyone know if you can turn off the vibrating steering wheel for the back up cross traffic alert. I know you can turn the cross traffic warning off but wondering if it's possible to just turn off the vibration ?
