Hi jewelers, I’ve been searching for both a diamond that’s priced fair along with a solitaire 6 prong setting. Please leave a comment and share your work/designs(I’m still open to different designs). I’m interested in 2.7ct-3.2ct F/IF/VVS1, D/E/F, Excellent cut, no fluorescence. I’ve been getting a range for the price of F/IF but it seems like there are places trying to charge about 10-15k more than others for a very similar if not same diamond(some diamonds are brokered I heard). I’ve heard someone get a natural diamond 3ct flawless D color excellent cut no fluorescence for $65k in 2019 from a jewelry store which is shocking.
Please comment or message me if you have what I’m looking for along with the price. I’m hoping to find someone that I can purchase from. I’m not trying to lowball anyone, but I just want a fair price for what the diamond is actually worth. I’ve already heard it all about VS looking good, lab diamonds are a better alternative, to save money etc. so please don’t waste your time trying to convince me what you think is best for me. It’s a ring I’ll be wearing for the rest of my life so I don’t want to compromise and regret later.
I’m looking for jewellers in Canada with experience fully setting a stainless steel watch with stones.
I'm wondering if its possible to get it resized to half a size smaller. It's supposed to be a sterling silver ring (i only say supposed to because I bought it on etsy so I'm not entirely sure).
There’s a tiny chip in the corner. I’m wondering if that can be hidden by setting it in a ring or necklace? Would a bezel hide the chip? The stone is beautiful but the chip is obviously noticeable as is.
Some interesting things to know about yemenite jewelry
For 2000 years Yemenite jewelry was crafted to protect people from bad spirits and evil eye.
Children and women would wear their jewelry during what were considered the three most vulnerable periods of life: birth, weddings, and death, as they believed these ceremonies represented important transitions to the next stages of life.
Other than silver and gold, gemstones like carnelian (Aqiq in the Yemeni dialect) were used in many pieces. Carnelian, often called the 'blood stone,' was considered a special gem believed to heal physical wounds.
I have a t&co bangle that fits my wrist great but is WAY too tight to get on and off comfortably. are jewelers able to add a hinge with a simple box lock? i don’t need the expandable wire mechanism, more so just to have an easier way to put it on. is this possible and how much am i looking at spending? TIA!
My mom bought this chain for me when I was a kid and I'm curious because I've tried to find out what kind of chain is this and haven't been able to get any answers. Thanks!
Picked these up for $100 at a very fancy estate sale.
I think it would be a waste of gold for me to lose the removed gold from the larger ring and then pay more for extra gold for the smaller ring. Just wanted to ask if something like this be done? Thank you.
Edit: both rings are 18K gold from different jewelers.
My boyfriend is a 9.25 ring size according to one jeweler (we weren't able to get to a second before he left again). He loves rose gold, but I'm worried about spending a lot of money on something that can't be fixed or resized if need be. He also wants a hammer finish if that affects things at all.
I am working with a new casting company and below is what he told me regarding his pricing structure for gold. I asked about 22k. Is this considered high? Surge added in step 1 of $10 over spot (not sure why). and he adds 15% in step 4.
If gold is at $2,743.60
- 2,753.6 / 20 = 137.68 (dwt cost for 24k) (20dwt in an ounce)
- 137.68 x .916* = 126.11 (dwt cost for 22k)
- 126.11 x 1.15 = 145.02 (my price for 22k per dwt)
- 145.02 / 1.5552 = 93.25 is price per gram
I am hoping to get a rough cost for a jeweler to take my 1.03 carat round cut emerald I have and put into a very basic yellow gold pendant.
My son and his wife have platinum wedding rings that needs to be resized in platinum.
Having a hard time finding a jeweler that can do this. They said they can use white gold 18k then buff it (? I think that’s what they said) to where they wouldn’t be able to see a difference.
Is this correct or is there someone out there that can do this?
Another problem is the bride’s ring has engraving they said she will loose on the bottom where no one can see.
I am hoping to get into jewelry and start buying/ selling it. I recently found a reseller that has pretty good deals/ sells gold/ silver a bit over melt price. However, he is quite slow to respond and very busy since he does all the work himself and ships every piece. How do I find a seller for bulk/ wholesale buys at a price that I can resell for a modest profit? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi All! I purchased this solid 14k yellow gold pendant a few months ago. I polish it regularly and wear it over clothing with no contact with water, perfumes, etc.,
However, brown spots appear in the same spots on the back of the pendant, no matter what I do. At this point, the brown spots won’t disappear completely with polishing.
Is this normal? I store the pendant in a wood jewelry box. Thank you for your help!
I am a longtime sterling silver charm collector, and a few of the charms have razor sharp points (t-rex teeth, spokes on a sun flame). Can I sand these gently with sandpaper, or do I need special tools? The charms snag everything and are sharp enough to cut skin, but I do not want to ruin the charms. What grit sandpaper could be used, or do I need a metal filing set? Thank you!
Hello. I'm getting married soon and we've been looking at wedding bands, mostly on etsy due to budget concerns. We were planning to get a band [like this](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1053264014/curved-plain-wedding-band-women-hammered?click\_key=7202ac56757afc31db4f66bc80266e8b03f5b907%3A1053264014&click\_sum=8224ce55&ref=landingpage\_similar\_listing\_bot-4&pro=1&frs=1&listing\_id=1053264014&listing\_slug=curved-plain-wedding-band-women-hammered) but in platinum for my future wife. I noticed though that it says that it can't be resized, which is a dealbreaker since this would be something that, short of it being lost or stolen, she'll wear her whole life. If it's really impossible that's a bummer since I also wanted a hammered band. I'm hoping it's just saying the seller can't resize it, but that a quality jeweler can when the time comes.
