How do you replace the key fob for a jeep patriot 2017 Lattitude?? Does it need to be programmed by a dealer
Hey! I have a 2017 Patriot with 111k miles on it. I haven’t had many issues out of it so far but today I noticed this high pitched whining noise. It showed up before I got an oil change but seems to have gotten more noticeable after.
Brake fluid and power steering fluid were topped off last night as well.
You can hear the higher pitched whining noise when I’m revving the engine in park in the video, this also happens when driving. No performance issues noticed yet.
Any guesses as to what this could be?
So I just replaced the negative terminal end on my battery and the air bag light came on what should the next steps be!
So my 2011 Jeep Patriot has its tire pressure sensor light on (the tires have been checked and are fine), my car says its overheating (it is not, it has been checked by a mechanic), my gas gage has been acting weird, and my airbag light has been on for 10 years. Please let me know if I'm better off dumping my car and investing in something more reliable. I love my Jeep, but it gives me problems every three months.
Hello Patriot Fam.
Having some AC trouble. It’s been blowing cold air very inconsistently for a while and I decided to finally do something about it. I got my vac pump and gauges, checked for leaks, held a vacuum and got out everything from the lines. When I went to recharge the system, the refrigerant wouldn’t really make it into the system. The Patriots need about 21 ounces and I only managed to get in 6ish based on my measurements.
I trying restarting the whole process to double check there was no leaks, grabbed the cans and still barely managed to fill a fraction of the system.
I don’t know where to go from here. My best guess is that the compressor wasn’t kicking on. I know people online like to jump the fuse for this purpose but that’s a bit out of my comfort zone. Is there anything else that could be an issue here? Like I said, I have no leaks. The compressor is relatively new too, only about 2 years old now.
Thoughts?
2012 Patriot. Yesterday I was driving back to work from my lunch break and my car felt slower and then shut off in the turning lane. It cranked but wouldn’t start. I got it towed home. Hours later when I got home, I started it and it cut right on. Fast forward to today. I drove my car about eight miles with no issues. I then left to go pick up groceries later in the day. It cut off in the pickup spot. Went inside and bought starting fluid, made it about a quarter of a mile before it cut off again. Tried starting fluid again and it wouldn’t turn over and I felt the vehicle shaking. Thought maybe it’s a fuel pump issue and was just trying to make it home. Hit the fuel pump and the car drove for another half mile before cutting completely off. Waiting on a tow now. Any ideas?
Getting a check engine light on a jeep patriot 2013 with intake air temp code. The check engine light isn't always on.
What can I do to check it? Mechanics won't touch my car for some reason and claim they wouldn't be able to order a new after market sensor.
Where is the sensor located in the engine bay?
The engine vibrates a lot, especially noticeable on idle. Also has a slight misfire.
Ok so this thing has been an issue that has progressively gotten worse and worse but basically it's the almost stalling you hear of the engine, I've replaced spark plugs, coils, injectors, throttle body, and it's not really helped or hurt, but looking for suggestions, I've read the crank position sensor can be problematic, id like to other opinions or ways to test things that maybe I'm missing
Towing it to shop.
2016 loses power lights radio stay on. Tried hitting gas no power to engine. Checked uth and no sound or anything. Any help is def welcome
Hi everyone i have a jeep patriot that the back light don't come on while I'm driving brake lights work turn singles work as while I tried changing the light bulbs no succes can't think of anything else to do has anyone had some issues as me or does anyone have a solution or a way to fix it something that can help me out pls and thank you
Also my dash light don't turn on they flicker everytime I try to turn them on.
Hey my radio cuts in and out . Heard to replace the battery ? Any ideas ? I checked the wires all good . It just plays then stops then plays again . Help
My front passenger headlight quit working and I changed the bulb and it still didn't work. I put the bulb from the other headlight that works into the passenger socket and it doesn't work. I tested the voltage with a multimeter ground connected to the body of the vehicle and I get over 12 volts. I then tested the voltage with the ground touching middle pin in the light socket and get less than two volts. Note on the driver side I get over 12 volts using the same method. I'm some pretty sure there's a ground issue wherever the black pink ground cable connects to. Am I able to just wiretap a new ground on to middle black pink cable and attach it to the body?
I need some help I been without a car for months…. I have replaced the alternator, battery, O2 sensor and crankshaft sensors now my catalytic converter has failed…. One thing after the other …. For those who have the Rough Country lift on their riot, how is that going for y’all?
1 year? 2 years? 3 years in the future, how is it holding up on your vehicle?
I have a 2010 Patriot currently but I have a set of tires from a 2008 would those sensors work? So I can put winters on those rims??
Weird question but does anyone’s time on the radio slow down? I can set the correct time and in two weeks it’s 5+ minutes behind and I don’t know where to start troubleshooting that.
Looking to do some mild off roading to a beautiful spot but I don’t know much of PA. Maybe someone here knows. Thanks in advance!
it does this to aux/Sirius xm and cuts every three seconds what should I do
Had this happened to anyone else? Did it cost a lot to fix?
One of my TPMS sensors went bad, I had the dash light on and the Check TPM System message on startup. That wheel had the “-“ in the TPMS menu, meaning no reading was being reported.
Ok, I had the sensor replaced with OEM Mopar sensor. The dash light went away, and the reading is coming through, with all four tires filled to 32PSI. But the “check TPM System message” will not go away on startup, and the dash menu defaults to the TPMS values instead of the compass and temp.
My question is, how can I get rid of this warning? I’ve read the new TPM sensor needs to be “programmed” to the car, can I do this with Appcar DiagFCA or JSCAN? I do not want to have a shop do this as I have a set of winter wheels and tires that do the same thing when I put them on the car (“check tpm system” message) so I’d like to be able to program the sensors myself and not bring the car in twice a year and pay $$ just to get rid of a silly warning when I start the car.
Any tips are appreciated!
So i have a 2016 jeep Patriot as my first car and I would like two technically do a restoration.it is a 5 speed manual and i would like to upgrade to a 6 speed manual. I would also like to add a lift kit and a light bar if any one has any advice or recommendation that would be very help full
2014 patriot. What are the very rusted part behind the back rims?
It randomly speeds up songs/audio and will pause and skip and it is sooo annoying. Any ideas how to fix?
2011 patriot
When it’s in park or inside the brakes it makes this rattle noise from the glovebox area. Any idea to what it is? Thanks!
I have a 2013 Patriot with 198k miles on it. A few years ago I noticed I had a coolant leak and took it to a local shop that a neighbor of mine recommended. (They did have good reviews). So I took it there and they told me it was the upper radiator hose. They replaced that and I paid like $750. I thought that price was insane, but I needed it fixed asap because I didnt want that to lead to other issues and needed to commute to and from work, so I paid it.
I brought it home after the repair, popped the hood just to check things out and saw the coolant reservoir was completely empty. (This shop is only like 2 miles from my house). Called the shop right away and told them this. After trying to bullshit me, the guy finally said "Oh, one of my guys likely forgot to bleed the system" or something like that and told me to bring it back. Brought it back home shortly after, this time with coolant filled.
A few weeks go by and I notice coolant still leaking. There would be a puddle on the ground the next morning. So I call the shop again, they tell me to bring it back again. They check it out and tell me they don't see a leak. Wtf. Super confused at this point.
That was when I decided to call a family friend who's a mechanic, to check it out. He told me he adjusted the overflow? Then the leak stopped. Cool.
A few weeks go by and I notice it starts to overheat. Not leaking coolant, but temp gauge is going up quite a bit. Call up the mechanic again. He replaced both thermostats. That seemed to solve the problem.
A few months go by and I noticed that if I drove without the A/C OR heat on, the temp gauge would rise and it would start to overheat. So i call the mechanic again and this time he says it's the waterpump after looking at it. Had him replace it. Great. Temp gauge stayed at half and no more overheating.
That was about 5 months ago and it just started overheating again. Mainly when idling. I noticed it when I was at the drive thru. There was a long line so I put it in park. I was sitting there for a few minutes on my phone and heard a light come on. Looked up at the dash and it overheated. Turned it off immediately.
At this point I'm thinking I've had the same issue all these years and no one's catching it, misdiagnosing, or I'm just getting screwed. I don't know.
I take good care of it and I know it's getting up there in mileage, but I've never had any other major issues with it.
So, after replacing both thermostats, upper hose and waterpump, any one know what the most likely potential culprits are here?
I had been thinking for awhile maybe a crack in the radiator or the fan, but I'm not a mechanic. Just guesses from searching online.
The check engine light used to go on and off once in awhile. Code P0441. I was told that's a common code for a gas cap, and not to worry about it, just to make sure my gas cap is on good. Now wondering if thats the issue or related to the overheating?
When I'm on the highway, temp fluctuates a lot, but doesnt overheat. But if I'm idling, after a few minutes the temp gauage shoots right up and I have to turn it off.
Wanted to post here for any insight before I call the mechanic again.
Any input or knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks for reading
Obviously not at the same time. Looking to buy a dryer and washer on facebook marketplace but I am struggling to figure out if my jeep patriot might be up for the job and would like to hear if someone has already gone and done it.
Worse case, I suppose I can rent a van from UHaul but I'd hate to do that and have the marketplace seller flake on me or something.
