I can't remember the name of this jdrama I watched years ago in the early 2000s. It's about this really frugal woman who was determined to save 1million yen (it's not 1million yen girl). I didn't finish the series but I remember she did get to 1mill.
Nevertheless The Shapes of Love is coming to Netflix on December 9.
After a painful breakup, Miu vows to focus on art and avoid love — until an encounter with an aloof, charming artist stirs her deepest instincts.

i'm curious! does anyone have any shows that you tend to watch around christmas? it doesn't even have to be christmassy.
for example, for some reason i love to revisit good morning call during the festive season! something about it's cheesiness and warmth makes me feel cosy and festive lol.
I'm looking for a jdrama about 3 friends. a quiet girl with bangs, another girl but on the contrary she's a bit "crazy" and I think she had hair with different colours. and a boy.
I remember quiet girl uses the blackboard to communicate to them. does anyone know the name
The Netflix algorithm just gifted me a few of Kasumi Arimura's film works (I know I know, I am terribly behind), and while browsing online for more suggestions, I came across "Kasumi Arimura 's Day Off" (alternatively titled "Kasumi Arimura's Shooting Break"). It seems like a charming, quirky slice of life type show, so right up my alley.
However, I can't find a way to watch it from the U.S. Does anyone have any clue?
I'm looking for dramas where the MC from modern world time travels to the far past. Are there other dramas like Jin and Nobunaga concerto?

What types of dramas are you watching this week? Is it from this season or from the past?
Feel free to recommend or ask for new shows this thread as well!
Flair Banner (New Reddit Only): Omusubi/ おむすび(Airing from September 30, 2024 to TBA 2025)
I started a similar thread last year when Netflix Japan said it was being removed on December 28, 2023. I was on season six.
It never was.
Fast forward a year and Netflix Japan is now staying it’ll be removed on December 31, 2024. I’m finally on the season twelve.
Will it?
I also saw the movie when I was in Japan last month…good times.
I can’t find any and I really want to watch one
I've heard that there's a movie form of satsui no Michinori, and also one with audio commentary
Where could I find those?
I watched this a while back so I may get some of the info wrong. I think the show was from the early 2010s? A school hires a substitute teacher for a classroom. I think there was a girl that didn't communicate much so he tried to talk with her. Not even a few weeks later she unalives herself I believe. The teacher is sure that his class is to blame. He asks a lawyer's help (I think). Don't remember most of the show but I remember a scene where he admits he was wrong about his accusations and apologizes by bowing down to the class. Pls let me know its eating me alive.
Update: I FOUND IT LMAO NVMM. Title is "Watashitachi no kyokasho".

P.S. I'm still waiting for the subs of the series. Now that it's done, I hope Netflix would stream it, just like the first film.
Hey, can anyone help me find this series (NOT THE LAST COPS btw) ^^ i watched it when I was in middle-high school so it was probably around 2012-2015
It's about a young, almost naive detective (or police officer?) joined an eccentric investigation unit, what I remember from that, the detective (around his mid 20s) had a mentor (around his 40s-50s, always wearing a jacket) always help him find clues or just gave him advice. But the mentor is not necessarily a law-abiding" person, because I'm sure the detective's colleagues don't like him (they know him but don't know that the detective often met him in a bar and always at the same bar)
I'm pretty sure the mentor used a nickname instead of his real name, in the middle (near the end) of the series, the mentor shot the detective on the shoulder, but i don't remember why :"D but the detective still trusted him even after one of his team members reminded him that he shot him
And the plot twist was basically the detective's boss (around her 40s? wearing glasses) knows the mentor, they secretly try to uncover and reveal an old case that involved one of the powerful people in their village, who misused his power, resulted in the death of the mentor's son
At the end, the mentor was hospitalized, but run away when the detective visited him (the detective went into the room and found that the bed's empty)
I tried to give as many informations i can remember, so sorry for the long post, any help will be appreciated, coz I've been looking for this series for days, thank you >< 🙏
It’s fun and I wanted to like it more but damn Dr Tendo is cringey :’) Am I the only one?
i am getting back into dramas, and i'm totally hooked on talentless takano! can anybody share more recommendations for similar fun shows? thank u in advance :)
I have been a fan of Japanese Anime since childhood. I have also heard lots of great things about Japanese literature and cinema. So like an idiot I decided to watch Umi no Hajimari.
Gosh, the first episode is not even ended and I am bawling my eyes out crying. The story, the characters, the emotion and the acting just makes the entire story feels so real.
There are 11 more episodes, I don't think I have enough strength to watch the entire series.
"After School Doctor", originally titled "放課後カルテ", is a drama TV series that premiered on October 12, 2024, and is available for streaming on Nippon TV. It consists of 1 season, with a total of 10 episodes.
An outrageous doctor arrives at the clinic of an elementary school. His hair disheveled and constantly looking sullen, Dr. Makino is a “physician” by profession. “Don’t get on the bed without permission!” “As much as possible, try not to come to the clinic.” “What a hassle! Is this even my job?!” Blunt and always complaining, Dr. Makino is a scary school physician who glares at everyone, be it the teachers or the children. But with his exceptional observation skills, he detects anomalies in the students and saves them, as well as their families and at times, the teachers. Set in an elementary school, this human drama features Dr. Makino, a mouthy pediatrician with a big attitude. Follow him as he uses his observation skills to detect the children’s unspoken cries for help and offers them encouragement.
I am looking for Dr. Koto clinic series (2003) with English sub. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0377168/
I can’t find it online and downloading torrent isn’t a possible/legal option for me.
Does anyone know where I can watch 2015 asadora drama “Mare” with eng sub?
Has anybody else watched it? If not, I highly recommend it! Perfect if you're in for a dose of encouragement each chapter and need a reminder of a brighter outlook of life.

He is a former professional baseball player and he claims that he can discern a person's worries by looking at their batting swing. Tomohiro Ito comes to the batting center every night that Mai Natsuha works and watches female customers take batting practice. He tries to solve their worries by using baseball theory."
Looking for a place to watch the series now that all DramaCool based servers are indefinitely down. Looking for the original fan translator site/ files or if there's an internet archive post for it. Thank you!
I thought maybe we can work together before the servers go down.
Im downloading Hokuto now
