Hi, I am new to JRiver and I've been trying to get rid of this issue for 2 weeks now and I found no solution. I have checked all firewall settings in Windows and my router and nothing helped. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I’ve got the hard drive of a windows installation with mediajukebox on it and using USB I want to grab all my old playlists from it. So I’m wondering where I can find the playlist files? I’ve searched and can’t find!
Thanks!
I lost my AT&T internet for hours yesterday and couldn’t even get Plex to work on my network. I tried JRiver MC32 on my PC with the new High Noon 4K.
The video played but no sound using player. I tried other audio content later and that worked. Does JRiver MC32 not support DTS-HD MA stereo codec?
Is there a way to see a thumbnail preview on the video timeline? Kind of like YouTube or MPC-BE. Would help me with fast forwarding opening credits etc. and I don't see any option for this unless I missed it.
Is this company still active? Is there any way to get support that works?
I tried to install their software with my old licence, it required me to upgrade. I went through the process, got an email, but when I click on the attachment the program says the licence isn't valid.
All the documentation says you have to go to their forum for help, but I just get an error message everytime I try and register.
I'm pretty sure I just got ripped off and there is no recourse. Maybe I have to do a CC chargeback?
So I purchased jriver a month or so ago. But haven't had approval for the forum so can't post anything there. Any suggestions?
No, I haven't had an activation email. I got a welcome one with this line:
"Before you can login and start using the forum, your request will be reviewed and approved. When this happens, you will receive another email from this address."
But there hasn't been another.
Newb here, how do I know what my max settings can be in the playback section? I feel like it’s just keep guessing until it’ll recognize my output devices.
hi
I have downlaod the last version for windows 10 and the last version for windows 7
I can't test a portable version ,i can just install
second it does download some browser files (I guess the edge ) and for windows 7(i know it no more supported in the new version ) it does download other files
it does play really great , i want to use just only for music
is there a way to avoid that Jriver media does downlaod browsers files and other files?
thanks
I use a PC/JRiver as my home theater center and rip all my disc media to it. There are a few home-burned discs that it can't read, however, and i have an xbox that i use to watch those. Despite the pc bluray drive costing more than some standalone bluray players, it is not nearly as robust. Sometimes Jriver will fail to rip and makemkv will succeed, but when they both fail i have to rely on the xbox. Is it a software or hardware problem? I have one set of blurays in particular I'd really like to rip, would appreciate any thoughts.
Anyone know if there is anything going on with Jriver? I turned on Jriver today and got a notice that the certificate had expired. I uninstalled then tried to install again and got a certificate error. I can’t even access the forum. All I wanna do is just listen to my music
Does anyone here have a copy of the J.River Media Jukebox 12.0.534 freeware in their archives? Note, I am looking for this specific version, NOT the latest v14.0.166
Thanks for any help!
Hi, looking into a replacement video player but it would have to support the new RTX Video Enhancement feature (ala MPC Video Renderer)... does your JRiver Video Renderer have it too? Thanks
Hi,
When using Jremote on my ipad or iphone to add selections to playlists, nothing happens. Specifically, the app says "Song X was added to Playlist Y", but that doesn't actually happen.
I can add to playlists directly on the server, however. I'm using JRiver 30 if that matters.
Thanks for any help.
As the title states I am using jriver to play flac's from my computer to a Gustard r26 DAC/renderer via LAN connection.
With default settings there are many "skips" and muted "skips" I did realize it seems to be with higher bitrate flacs, if I stick with 16/44.1 files I don't hear them.
Just wondering if this is jriver or perhaps my network? OS settings? I am using linux. It could very well be something in the Gustard as well, the skips do seem to occur at the beginning of playing the file, though it will happen in the middle of a song as well.
This is the first time I have used a LAN connection, the audio quality seems to be improved over a USB connection, would like to reduce those skips.
Can i setup jrive so when i drag and drop folders in my library it then copies them to a set location followed by artist folder then album?? I am running it on my mac and would like the folder to be on a nas drive that is mounted via smb.
What does it need that for? Seems pretty questionable from a personal security standpoint.
Which sites are best for music downloads for J River?
Hi ladies and gentlemen
I am having the following issue any advice would be gratefully received.
Using android 10 tablet, JRemote2 will immediately crash once I try to send music to a cast device. The music will continue to play for a while but JRemote2 closes.
I also have are JRemote2 on android 11 phone and it works perfectly.
Does anyone have any idea, what the issue could be? All the settings are the same on both tablet and the phone.
I have tried to search for a solution, but nothing seems an obvious cause?
Many thanks for reading
I am trying to import my library which is about 925GB but only 861GB was imported. I think what is going on is any folder that don't have just a single child folder but have a setup like this:
Album folder --> another folder --> folder with tracks
aren't being picked up, so roughly 60GB of music are missing.
I have checked video files and other files, that's not it. Is there some way to get a list of those folders so I can manually fix them or is there some way to make Jriver pick them up? Jriver is already configured to pickup child folders.
MC28.0.106 - I have some mkv videos imported and some have duration and dimensions and some don't. Is there anyone who might know why this is?
Many thanks,
I've been a long time defender of Media Center over Roon but over the last 6 months have given Roon another chance and have a few thoughts/questions:
I did it because I wanted to output directly from my media player over ethernet (prefer that to USB output from my PC) to a Bluesound Node that I am using as a DAC into my pre-amp (it's a McIntosh C47 but I am convinced the DAC in the Bluesound - sounds better). I also dig some of the options/visibility/flexibility that Roon has built in .
I want to understand why Jriver cant output to a Bluesound Node? (admit I may just be missing something as well). I've read what I'll describe as a few excuses as to why it can't - e.g. Bluesound is a closed off system etc... but I just don't buy that knowing Roon can do it. We see other DLNA type options to output to other hardware such as receivers, XBOX etc... so what's the hold up?
Again, appreciate I may just be missing something here and will be thrilled if someone corrects me.
Hi, I found only this deb https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,131798.0.html
What is the recommended way to install JRiver on Gentoo?
I have a FOSI DA2120 C DAC / Amp that I'm trying to control the volume within Media Center (and gizmo).
The outut connection from the FOSI is an S/PDIF going into a typical USB connection from the PC. Should I be able to control my volume using Media Center or does that functionality go away with this kind of connection?
The Fosi is replacing a Yamaha RX V775 which sounded pretty good in my living room but just takes up way too much space. I loved the Yamaha but their tech support for connecting via DNLA was non existent. DNLA is poor cousin to a direct USB connection.
The error is: "not using enough bits to output the input directly"
I'm trying to convert for example 24bit 2ch 192khz flac files into DSD 256 and in the audio path, what it tells me is this:
Input: 192khz 24bit 2ch from source format FLAC
Changes: Encode as 4xDSD
Output: DSD DSD256 (4x) 1bit 2ch using ASIO (not using enough bits to output the input directly)
I'm assuming this is normal and I don't need to do anything else and I've configured it correcly. Am I right?
How to I save the analyzed audio file log to the folder that I’m measuring?
I gave jriver mm a shot on my Arch laptop. I use i3wm (a tiled window manager) in lieu of a desktop. Anyway, MM and the terrible interface wouldn't even present properly. Opening menus were presented behind the parent window. I had to hack the shit out of my otherwise perfect window manager config just to get some semblance of functionality out of this $ware. A shit ton of neat features, but for all the problems and memory consumption, not going to buy it.
Hopefully MC will check sums of others. Like rips I made using other software or even purchases from HDTracks, etc.
Got to say, I love this software for audiophile. For streaming video, music to phone via Wi-Fi or 5G/4G or just sending raw unaltered file to my home DAC.
Here's my issues with JRiver Media Center"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_audio_player_software
You pay 75 dollars for a one time license! Media Monkey charges 45 for a lifetime license.
2) Broken.
Half the features don't work
and...
3) When you ask how to fix basic features you're told to "read the wiki"
4) Wiki is written so that you need a CS major to understand it.
If I knew how to code, I'd have downloaded Foobar2000?
5) People working for JRiver are rude and treat you like shit.
ZERO customer service after you've paid for the most expensive media player.
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,129746.0.html
7) They have been rude on their "customer service" forums consistently & I've seen this behavior for literally years. They act like you're in their house asking them for money when you *ask* for help or suggest improvements to their software. You're left to the kindness of strangers on their forum and hoping *they'll* maybe, eventually, post fixes to basic things that should've come with a *$75* media player!
8) May contain a backdoor or used for hacking your PC and collecting your information!
After making the above post on their Interact forum...telling them I'd pay more if the 5 stars were made into 10 on future version, getting told a solution (that I didn't understand), posting the Wikipedia article "comparison of audio players" (that I linked here), which apparently sent one of the JRivers staff into a murderous, foaming, garment rending rage!...after that and doing nothing else online... my system slowed way down, HDD started making weird noises speeding waaay up and slowing down 'randomly' and monitor went flashes white/black and my PC restarts on it's own! :O
What the fuck? I wasn't doing anything else online.
BUYER DEFINITELY BEWARE! THERE ARE BETTER, CHEAPER, ALTERNATIVES!
THESE PEOPLE ARE MONEYGRUBBERS and possibly HACKERS!!
MediaMonkey is much better and their forums are a good example of this! When someone has a problem there...they aren't talked down to and insulted but are THANKED for spending their hard earned money and HELPED to find a solution! I consider this experience with JRiver a $75 lesson and hope to God my system isn't hacked! If it is and I find out, I'll be pursuing legal action...I don't know what else to do and wish I'd never spent the money now.
How is it that MediaMonkey and JRivers are the only two available? After all this time?
I've been looking at "audio media players" for...at least 6 years these are the only two that handle large libraries and there's no competition...for years? Weird. Are they owned by the same person, the same people... I don't know! Do you? Are they collecting your info or spying and collecting credit card information? I don't know! Do you?
I know many are just on streaming services now and that JRMC is, I guess, more interested in develping their software for television shows and stuff, which isn't what I use it for but why only two things?
There's about 20 on this list...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_audio_player_software
...most are free. Where's a good one for large libraries? I'd pay for it! Wouldn't you?
Well, we can't be the only ones! CODERS READING THIS!! MAKE ONE AND WE'LL PAY YOU MONEY!!!
P.S. Is just being polite to someone suggesting a feature in future versions really so hard to do? Simple politeness. Very easy. Costs absolutely nothing to do. After all these people just spent money on your product! A good customer service exchange, a working product, and they're spreading the word and getting more customers for you! Putting money in your pocket!
A shitty exchange and bad experience and they're telling everyone...
==>DO NOT BUY JRIVER MEDIA CENTER!!!
Has anybody else noticed how "coincidentally" JR starts to glitch and have issues once a new version is released? I've noticed this the last two times they've released new versions and now I've been having issues for a couple of months since they've released the latest version. I have no desire to pay $$'s to upgrade as I'd be happy with the version I'm running ........ if it didn't keep freezing and crashing on all 3 Windows machines I'm running it on.
Once was possible. Twice was a coincidence. Three times in a row? Screw these guys. Their software is mediocre at best and these issues are the straw that broke the camels back. I was too lazy to look for something better but given this crap I finally did so and am moving on from this trainwreck of coding.
In the past I've emailed them directly and posted on their "forum" and been either ignored or if they did respond I was talked down to, delittled, and bullied in an attempt to shut my polite and valid questions down. All times I was polite and professional and all I got for my efforts was abused. Turnabout is fair play sooooo .......
I'd advise audiophiles looking for music management software to look elsewhere. There are better products out there with REAL support that involves responding to inquiries in a timely manner and not bullying and belittling customers when doing so.
Buh-bye to this flaming bag of software and the "support" (ZERO) that came with it.
