Vol 1 or 2, both are fairly similar. I dig a good upbeat funky song and would like to hear more music along those lines
1:45 to 2:23

It's slow with the bass grooving out and in hijaz or something close to it.
I get something similar from this performance of Hijaz by Nadishana Trio.
Similar to these: Stay home by self/ Kids by Robbie williams/ Leroy by wheatus/ Trampoline by weezer/
Hi all
Got dumped over the phone and during finals last night. I did damn near everything for this man but somehow I still wasn’t doing enough to make him feel loved. He hated when I went out with friends and hated that I didn’t make him the center of my entire world. He needed to be babied and coddled constantly. I cooked for him, I endured incredibly mediocre sex, I paid half on everything. I went above and beyond to make him feel special and loved. And it wasn’t enough apparently. He wanted me to be essentially a domestic servant at 21. He wasn’t the center of all my attention. He wasn’t my entire life.
Anywho. Any recs on songs? I’m not a swiftie by any means but my mom sent me Bejeweled and I’ve been liking that. I’m hurting now but I’m more than ready to move on and I know that I am destined for better and brighter things.
I'm looking for albums that scratch some of that itch BoC's Old Tunes tapes and R35TT do. There's a certain ghostliness to their early works, mystique and nostalgia, solitude, intimate like it wasn't meant to be heard (sometimes because that's precisely the case), the production slightly rough around the edges and/or lo-fi... I struggle to find much like it! I'm looking for both beat-driven and ambient works, it's more about the general feel than strictly following genre rules.
Here are finds of my own that I feel match the description:
- Christ.'s "Curio" series (ex 1, ex 2)
- Jega's album "1995" (ex),
- Marumari (ex, this one has BoC's plunderphonic side like "The Way You Show" + the synths)
- Certain tracks by Stars of the Lid (ex),
- Aphex Twin "Selected Ambient Works Volume II"
I've been listening to IDM and ambient for decades so I've already heard a lot of the commonly recommended records. I'm a big fan of the usual WARP acts, I listen to a lot of SKAM; I love BoC-adjacent acts like Bochum Welt, CiM, Freescha, Casino Versus Japan, múm, and more.
If you know the feeling I'm describing and have some tips I'd very much appreciate your input. Thanks!
Don't necessarily care about who the artist is, genre, lyrics or not. Just echo-ey, "recorded in a big space", sounds.
I've fallen down a vocal jazz rabbit hole to no avail and was wondering if any of you had recommendations. Thanks!
I've seen The Boys, Invincible, Vox Machina, and Hazbin Hotel. I need I show that's not on freevee that I can download while on a plane.
I recently started growing an interest in movies and so far, this is the list of movies I loved and would like to watch more like these.
Brokeback Mountain, Portrait of the Lady on Fire, Call me by your name, In the mood for love, Your Name, 5 cm per second
Thanks!
Don't know how to describe it. Melodic songs with dubstep that has a lot of different kinds of wubs in it. Preferably something with a drop that's more groovy and less noisy? Maybe a more old-school kind of dub.
What I like about memories of murder is the 2000s feel to a 90s set! Like the grainy filming and the editing is great. Fucking love it, it’s honestly so fun to watch and experience

Lately I’ve been really into podcasts style interviews with creators, mostly YouTube creators although that overlaps with TikTok influencers and Twitch streamers. Of course Colin and Samir and Anthony Padilla are the most popular (for good reason) and I just discovered Jon Youshai, but I want to give a special recommendation to the Karat podcast. Yes it is put on by a company so is kinda a form of content marketing, but think of it as only having one sponsor, and the interviews are engaging and get both the interviewee and interviewer to really open about serious things in their lives in a way no other one of these podcasts has. He’s gotten big names like Jack Conte (Patreon CEO), Graham Stephan, HasanAbi & Will Neff, but also some smaller creators I never heard of before but look up after. The views are criminally underrated as most get less than 10k when IMHO they should have millions as every bit as good if not better than those by Colin and Samir because everyone opens up more about their life. Give one video a shot and see if worth subscribing.
BTW I have no affiliation with Karat (not even a customer) I am just a fan.
Heard Endtroducing... for the first time in my life. No instrumental hip-hop or sampling hits the same anymore. I liked more specifically the vibe on MIAPW and Stem / Long Stem.
EDIT: forgot to say why I liked it. Super-smooth melodic beats. Something mellow, but with a tad bit more substance than lo-fi beats.
THANKS !
I just like the depressive guitar riffs it has and the vibes of it
I love the breathy vocals, dreamy reverb, and the sensuality of the lyrics. I'm looking for more similarly sexy songs with a good beat. Reminds me somewhat of early 2000s Kylie. Thanks!
Much more leaning into recommendations that aren't musicals. Could be a film or a series. Non-musical plays will also do as long as there's something on the internet that's accessible. Any language.
To be more specific, I like that it's a coming of age story about working class artsy characters in their 20s
If you were making a Youtube tribute video for the likes of Morgan le Fay, Cruella de Vil, Milady de Winter, Bellatrix Lestrange, etc, which song would be a good fit for a truly bad villainess?
Maybe not necessarily the drums, just the, like “booming” kind of vibe? Haha, I’m so bad with music terminology. The first 10 seconds should give you a pretty good idea of it honestly.
Radioactive & Enemy by Imagine Dragons are close. Preferably something less electronic-sounding? If that makes sense?
The last two minutes of In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins are also close, love that song.

i’ve been looking for movies, tv shows, youtubers, etc. that discuss the general topic of: 90s/2000s media that leaves a sense of impacting dread. in particular, i like when the internet is involved.
for example, i find true crime extremely unsettling but interesting. specifically cases that took place during the age of and involved computers, like the mid 2000s. for example, a case about a hardcore crime that was recorded as a home video and uploaded to the internet. i want to walk away feeling shitty and dreadful, but interested.
phycological horror is cool too. i saw this anime, serial experiments lain, which fit all my criteria and it was extremely interesting.
anyways, sorry if this post is super jumbled up and hard to read. its 1:20 AM here and i‘m extremely tired
I'm desperate for a new show to watch and these are the last three I couldn't stop watching.
I'm also a huge Game of Thrones fan
Looking for happy songs recommendations,
i.e. big yellow taxi Joni Mitchell, No way no Magic, feeling good Michael bubl’e
I like the entire song; I also really love the chorus ("Wherever you go, is breaking me slowly..") I also really like the bass in the song. I already listened to the rest of Tally Hall's songs, so please recommend songs other than those.
Looking for movies like Greenland. End of the world/ pre or post apocalyptic movies with a similar type of story.
Songs like “horse with no name”, “knocking on heavens door”, “take me home country road”. Going for a roadtrip across rural America in the 70s kinda vibe.
