/r/IdahoLibertarians
A page for the Idaho Libertarian Party. Part of the r/LibertarianPartyUSA network of state Libertarian subreddits.
A place for current and potential LP members to share news and topics of interest. Although we will often disagree on tactics, we expect members of this subreddit to be in general agreement with the strategy of increasing liberty by growing the size and influence of the Libertarian Party in the USA.
Rules: No blatant trolling is allowed, low energy attacks will not be permitted. You are not required to be blindly loyal to our party, but understand that we are here to spread the word of the LP. Any talk of violent revolution, separatist movements, conspiracy theories and such do not belong here. Only Downvote spam or trolling, don't use it as an "I disagree" button.

Let's try this angle for Legalization in Idaho.
I know it may be bad taste to invite to a D/R event, but tonight there will be an election night party where many L leaning R's (like myself) will be.
In Idaho, there is no L party. Yet. So at least see if the L favorable R based candidates win. And eat their free food.
Join me on Election Night!
Join me and my family as we watch the election results come in on Tuesday night! We will be at the Riverside Hotel in Boise, where the Idaho Republican Party will be covering the election in the Riverside's main ballroom. There will be free refreshments and fun surprises throughout the night.
Come see me in Suite 339 and invite your friends. Bring your Fulcher T-Shirt if you have one! To my friends who are too far away to join: You will be missed! Be sure to vote, and letβs look forward to a successful Election Day!β
When: Tuesday, November 8, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM Where: Riverside Hotel, Suite 339 2900 W Chinden Blvd, Boise, ID 83714
I look forward to seeing you there!
Russ
Howdy! I recently joined the LP to help an old Army buddy of mine who is running for US Senator from Florida as a Libertarian, Paul Stanton. I am currently working with Paul's Campaign in Florida. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the LP of Idaho after the election.
Why was this subreddit created?
The decision to create this subreddit was for several reasons. The biggest reason is the opportunity Libertarians have had this election cycle is like nothing seen before. With the two general election candidates having the worst favorability ratings in recent memory Gary Johnson can potentially break the often quoted 5% mark in the general to have a real shot at shaking up the 2020 election and establishing the Libertarian party as THE third choice for Americans. The second and more important reason for the creation of this sub was to promote state and local candidates before, during, and after the 2016 election to better form the grassroots effort put forth by Libertarians country-wide and get our candidates into office. Therefore I encourage others in their respective states to do whatever it takes to organize and perhaps consider creating a dedicated subreddit as well!
Who is this subreddit for?
Although this subreddit is first and foremost for Libertarians residing in Idaho we welcome all Libertarians to this sub whether they are big L or small l, from Idaho or not. If you don't currently consider yourself Libertarian that is fine as well, as long as you are open to the ideas of Liberty you are always welcome. If this describes you I encourage you to check out our side bar, specifically the relevant websites portion. As for the rest of those interested in joining this sub I encourage you to participate as much as possible so we can better organize and get the message of Liberty out into the mainstream. Check out and assign yourself a flair for what county you reside in to better help find fellow organizers nearby when events do come up.
What are the rules and what should be posted?
Be accepting of small "l" libertarians, r/Libertarian has recently been torn apart by subscribers trying to "out Libertarian" each other. If you want more personal Liberty and a significantly smaller government you are a friend to this subreddit.
A post about ID politics is acceptable, a post about Libertarianism is acceptable, a post that includes both is best.
Participate as much as you'd like but please no spam.
Freedom of speech is paramount therefore do not down-vote just because you disagree. Trolls and spammers will be banned however.
We are all in this together fighting for Liberty. So make friends, organize, debate respectfully using facts, and of course continue to spread the word of Liberty.
