I got a message from MEITAV today
שובצת כחייל במערך הטכני בחיל הטכנולוגיה והאחזקה.
I have a couple of questions that I don’t know where else to ask.
What is it? What do they often do there? Wikipedia doesn’t give me enough answers.
Is it a final decision or if I don’t wanna do that, can I ask to change my appointment? What are the chances that they will listen to me and change it if so?
Info if needed. Med. Profile — 72 (+ poor eyesight & asthma), DAPAR — 90, Status — Lone Soldier
I was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome as a kid and the diagnosis has been kept as part of my medical profile every year, even though it's been years since I've experienced symptoms after taking some therapy for it. I assume I will be submitting my medical forms to the army so my Tzav Rishon medical examiners will see them. Will they prevent me from getting a 97? I'm not going to tell them about it but are they already going to see it and deduct points for that?
So i’m an oleh chadash, made aliyah in July. I’m currently trying to begin the process of drafting into the army (i’m 22). I just have some questions about mikve alon i’m hoping someone here could help me with.
Firstly, roughly what level of hebrew do you need to avoid mikve alon? (Not that i necessarily want to avoid it, i’m just trying to figure out if i’ll be going). Like I speak decent hebrew, i have pretty much no issue just getting by in daily life, talking about myself, news, etc. but i’m far from perfect, i’d consider myself to have intermediate proficiency.
Secondly, i was told that if you do have to go to mikve alon, the usual draft dates are either in August, December, or April. Can anyone confirm this?
Hey, assuming I know basically no hebrew, how long should I be practicing (2 hours a day) before drafting, if I want to know just enough to get by in a regular infrantry unit (doing mahal)?
Then, assuming I want to do a sayeret, does that level of hebrew I need to have increase by a lot?
שלום. שמעתי שעם אתה מגיע להנדסה אחרי מחוה אי אפשר לעשות גיבוש יהלם. מישהו שהתגייס לאחרונה יכול לאשר עם זה נכון כיום?
Is there a regular/fully equipped gym on the average infantry base that soldiers can use daily?
I have a short Achilles and flat foot. What do you think my profile would be?
What is a teudat lochem? What benefits do you get? Can someone get a teudat lochem if they go to michve?
I am confused by the IDF’s rank structure and advancement. I’ve seen stories where relatively young soldiers reach what would be considered an advanced rank, like sergeant major. How does the advancement system work in the IDF?
Can anyone tell me what there experience was like with dealing with eczema, a skin conditioning during there training? I recently am applying for mahal in March and was wondering how would eczema affect my medical score or training.
What is a קורס מולדת (Kurs Moledet)? How long does it last? Can I refuse it if I have a grade of 7 in Hebrew?
I’m 21 right now and won’t be making Aliyah until I’m 22 and likely wouldn’t be joining the army until I’m 23. Is it too late for me to go to yom sayerot and get invited to a gibush? I’m working hard on my overall physical fitness right now and prepping to train for yom sayerot as Aliyah time gets closer, based on the accounts of it I’ve read online. I’m highly motivated and I’ve decided this is truly what I want to do but I’ve been told recently that they highly prefer 19-20 year old guys to go to gibush because of the time commitment and long training time, is this true? I’m willing to do whatever I have to mentally and physically but will it be in vain anyway because of my age? Any insight on this will be extremely helpful. Even if the chances are slim to none I’m still willing to go and try.
Instead of sending planes.
Either ballistic missiles or cruise missiles. (Possibly aided by planes flying near or even over Iran to aid in targeting.)
I'm guessing it's likely also for a show of force.
I am 24 years old from Los Angeles and want to draft to a combat unit. I just learned I am too old for Mahal does anyone have advice?
Hello everyone.
Around a month ago, I asked to draft through Tel HaShomer, as it's easier for me to reach when living in Tel Aviv. I got an update from Meitav today saying that not only was my draft date pushed up by 5 days, but also that I had to come to Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem for my draft. Is this something all olim draftees have to do? All I know is that I'm going to Michve Alon for the Moledet course. Additionally, I'm also assuming we'll be going to the Bakum at Tel HaShomer and from there to Michve Alon. Would love to hear some feedback regarding this.
Thanks.
Hi, I have applied for Garin Tzabar 2025 summer session. If anyone who has been or is in Garin Tzabar tell me about the process and how it is? Thank you.
Can anyone who’s done Garin Tzabar tell me more about the process? When should I expect to hear back from them. I’ve already applied to the summer 2025 process, but they haven't got back to me yet about when the interview is.
I saw somewhere that if I wanted to do Shaldag (assuming I pass all the tests), it's 2 years training, then 5 years service (standard 3 plus 2 years of mandatory service for the SF unit), so in total 7 years? Is that right? Is that what I can expect from all SF units? is there any commando unit that will allow me to serve for 5 years or less?
And if you don't have info on SF, then the same question applies to any combat unit.
I had an appendectomy and an oopherectomy (just one...) and it was all laporoscopic. I have no other issues, I take claritin sometimes is all. Is this going to bring down my profile? I didn't have appendicitis, they just wanted to take it out since they were already in there. The only other post that came up seemed like they had a reason for it being removed.
If I don’t have a “family doctor” to sign the medical form or fill it out who should I get to do it? Can I get a doctor in Israel to fill it out? I live in the UK now Thanks
Hello everyone! I am not a bot! I am a dentist and was drafted into the army a month ago. At that time, I took a Hebrew test (as well as tests in logic and math) and scored a 6 on the Hebrew test. Now, I need to retake the test and score at least a 7 to start working in my field. If I don't pass, the next retake will be in six months. The test includes reading passages. If anyone remembers or even has any of these texts, please share whatever you have here. I really want to start working and be useful in my field. Thank you!
For example, training dogs in Oketz, but not being the soldier who will ultimately become a single dogs handler. How do you apply for that? Do you have to get through the oketz training? Also if you’re not combat in a combat unit what כומתה do you get? Is it at the same ceremony?
What are some interesting combat support jobs to do in the army? What profile do you need? What level rifleman training do you get? Etc.
I have a question. So im from EU with Israeli background and i want to know will i be able to use my European driving license in israel since i'm possibly enlisting in IDF next summer.
If I can pass all the fitness exams with it, am I fine? Or do I need to get surgery if I want a shot of going special forces?
Will a 134/75 blood pressure prevent me from being a 97?
Just wanted to check as supposedly this is slightly high.
