For one of the areas of knowledge I chose geography, and it would be easier to convey my point if I was allowed to have a map in it. And if we are does anyone know of a sample that does it? Thanks in advance.
how far are you supposed to be with the econ hl syllabus rn?? (for m25)
like we're just starting on inequality and poverty and idt we're gonna finish the syllabus. gotta self-study even more i think, send prayers fr
I have been through so many topic options for my maths AA SL IA at this point. I'm really struggling to choose a topic that is appropriate level, in-depth enough for an IA, and interesting to me all in one. I was considering, after going through a few options, doing a correlation IA about MBTI types and sleep, but I can't find the right mathematics to suit something where one variable isn't quantitative. Should I try and choose a different topic, or does anyone perhaps know of a mathematic correlation formula that suits the mentioned topic?
OMG guys i found the best guys to help you with IA, they helped me with my Commentary 1 for economics, i think they also do BM, my teacher gave me a 13/14 now after just 1 feedback from them. they dont help writing ur ia but they give you advice and feedback on how to improve it for free! they are some very experienced teachers who correct. their site is ibcognito.in , you can get help on their discord here: https://discord.gg/bq34VFraru
Tomorrow (?) is my math IA deadline. My math teacher is somewhat incompetent (posted on here before about how he hasn't taught a lot of the HL content, still hasn't taught anything for the past who knows how long). When he introduced the IA he uploaded 100 sample IAs for us to look at and made us run free. No introducing the rubric or anything. (To this day I'm still not sure what we're being graded on) He has 3 IA deadlines for us:
I've talked to my DP coordinator and she says to take it up to the teacher. And the teacher isn't really doing much... Is not giving written feedback even allowed?
TLDR: math teacher gives only verbal feedback for IA, no rubric, no "grades". IM SO COOKED DAWGGG
I am a grade 10 CBSE student and I am applying to IBDP. There will be an entrance test testing the MYP curriculum and I don't have much time. What do I do? From what resource should I study?
I wanna take business management but my low grade school doesn’t have it
Grrrr 😡
hii! Ive been searching for bm pre released case study for m25 but didnt find it... i heard that the syllabus changed but still there's pre released context, etc.
is it true or there isnt any prerealesed stuff?
Does anyone know how to actually structure the answer for the new syllabus change for "deep ecology" and "technology"? My philosophy teacher is new to teaching IB and I really don't think he knows what's going on.
Hi! so im planning to binge watch khan academy AP calc to learn calculus, but i see the topic there is really a lot. is there any parts of it that i can skip that is not relevant to ib curriculum? thank u!
Anyone please give me an idea of what topics were asked in Paper 1
hi, my exhibition is tomorrow and my art teacher is only telling me now that I need an additional personal project. i have 8 projects right now (minimum for HL is 8) but my teacher is telling me that if I don't have at least 9 I'll lose points and will be marked down
does anyone have experience with whether or not this is true?? isn't it the minimum for a reason?
I'm M26 and I'm stuck between Math AAHL and Comp Sci HL for my EE. I might do something related to grover's algorithm in math and for computer science I need to figure it out. Any suggestions? And what EE's will be easiest to score in while still being a good addition to my college app?
As an m25 I hate life right now. Test after test with endless content. I am borderline failing a lot of my classes. I’m sure some of you feel the same but PLEASEEEE hang in there.
M25s have like 4 months left until freedom and M26s still have time to prepare and build a strong foundation for learning.
As Dory from Pixar’s Finding Nemo once said, “just keep swimming” and trust that everything will be alright no matter what.
Sending love to all of you out there.
my teacher on some bs about minithesis blah blah blah whats the most effective way Lit A HL
Hi guys I'm M24, offering Math AA SL, HL and Chem SL and HL for tutoring (price is negotiable)
I got 7 in both Math AA HL and Chem HL.
Pm me if interested.
Which resources and websites are the best for studying math?
Hi everyone, can you please fill out this survey for my Digital Society Extended Essay: https://forms.gle/Pem3Hb3Ueuh8dx4T8
Please fill ASAP!
For context, I am a M25 student in the U.S, and I have always thought that my school wasn’t the greatest in terms of IB schools (poor course selection, high teacher turnover), and I feel like I don’t know much about how IB even should appear in a school. However, this has sent me over the edge.
My coordinator emailed me this morning forwarding a message from the IB saying her request to switch me from SL Math AA into HL was denied because I would then be taking 5 HL’s which is not permitted. The thing is, I have been in the HL math AA class at my school for my whole time in IB!!! I have a meeting with her tomorrow and I know she’s going to try to get me to switch to SL even though I’m majoring in STEM and math has always been my strong suit.
(Classes I have been taking are Chem SL(HL not offered and scored a 7 on the exam last year), Spanish B HL, HOTA HL(SL not offered), English Lang/Lit HL(SL not offered), Bio HL(SL not offered), Math AA HL, also taking AP Physics 1 this year(IB physics not offered)
In addition, I was deferred from MIT, and I heavily do not want to inform them that I “switched” into a lower math class. I’ve already been accepted into GA Tech and Honors at UNC (In state), so I don’t think it would matter much to them, but I still don’t want to give the impression that I faked my math class/skills.
My question really is, what should I do?? The email from IB said it was an option to switch another class to SL, but my school doesn’t offer SL Language/Lit, HOTA, or Bio, and I really enjoy HL Spanish B as a class, not to mention I have taken all of these as HL for three semesters. If I can convince my coordinator tomorrow to let me take the SL Lang/Lit exam, would I have to redo my IO? Would I have to if I switched the other classes?
Thanks for the help
Hi im a grade 11 student in the ibdp program and my grades are super MID. Like 70-80 type grades, not very IB approved. But everytime I mention this to anyone they tell me it will get betting and that the exam is going to "carry" my grade. I usually preform well for exams than during the year but I just feel like I could be doing so much better without the added stress IB gives with ias. I wanted to know if its worth it to stay in IB if I don't even care about getting into an amazing university, just an average one with a good program for what im interessted in. Is the exam really as easy as everyone says it is, because my bio grade so far is 73%, chem grade is 73% too, and my math grades a 85%. my french grade is so low aswell but there was no hope for that the moment I stepped foot into ib. Is there hope for me?
Hi I need some advice on how to pass my French Ib exams.
For a little bit of background I started French in grade 4 core like everyone else but most of what we did until grade 8 was workbooks of the three little pigs and stupid stuff like that . I didn't start IB until grade 10 and even then I had a teacher who didn't do anything ( we literally did orals once and it was for culminating ). Now in grade 11 I have a teacher who does everything and nothing at the same time and I'm so lost. I just finished semester one with a 53 and my oral exam is in march. I know a bit but like I can't conjugate while I speak and my vocabulary is shit. Pls tell me what to do, I've started reviewing tenses and watching French content but I have so much work from my other classes I have no time for anything and honestly I don't know what I'm doing
sup my fellow Hl english takers. did yall have any techniques that helped you thrive in the course? I currently just started the course and am confused on where to direct my focus towards. Thank you!!!
p.s. if there are study guides online could u pls link it here? helps sm 🙏
What was your progress 3 months before the final exams when it comes to Paper results from Chem HL? I just wrote my first ever Paper 1 and scored 48%. I feel like I simply forgot a lot of stuff from over a year ago and it's a matter of revision, but I wanted to ask what were u scoring on your first Papers few months before the finals and what ended up being your final score?
Hi guys! This is my first time posting here! I’m in the process of completing my psychology IA and am on the analysis/evaluation section. My results were not statistically significant, so I was wondering how I would compare these to my original theory and also how I would explain why this was the case? Thanks so much
I need advice, which one is better for a history BA, edinburgh, lse or Manchester? TYYY
Also any tips on AAHL?
I was doing a chemistry question, I got stuck on understanding the proof for the worked example, busted a nut, checked the problem again and it took me like 30 sec to figure it out. Idgaf if yall think im pulling a "jarvis im low on karma." moment, ik ts real af. Do yall also do this or am I just weird af?
Hey all!
I think we can all agree that IB writing can be either confusing, stressful, and way too vague when it comes to what examiners actually want or even what our teachers want. So, I had an idea: what if we created a student-written IB guide that breaks down how to excel in essays, IAs, and understanding rubrics for subjects like History, Bio, Math, Econ, (possibly the EE) and more? And like advice how to manage time properly when considering these things?
I want to collaborate with IB students (current or past) with different experiences to create a clear, practical guide with real examples and strategies that teachers don’t always explain well (difference of resource). This would be by IB students, for IB students, making IB writing way more approachable and achievable.
Not sure if anyone has already done this, but would love to know!!! If you're interested in contributing (whether it’s for a specific subject, IA tips, EE advice, or anything IB-related), drop a comment or message me! This could really serve useful.
Just got back from the summer holidays and I have not touched anything in two months. I don't know where to start. How should I start revising? Do I cover the entire syllabus or do I look for selected areas where my understanding is weaker? How do you people normally revise?
