Advice on cutting my hours?

So I’m a daycare teacher, and I’m 19. I work M-Th 8:45-5:45 and F 7:00-11:00 (am) the more I’ve been working, the more burnt out I am. All of my friends are in college or work small jobs, while mine is a huge commitment to. I’m the toddler teacher (1 year olds) and my coteacher is brand new to teaching so I’m helping her along as well. I dread going in everyday, and it’s taken a toll on my mental health. I understand that jobs aren’t necessarily supposed to be “enjoyable” but I feel like this is all my life is, and I’m so so young. I work super hard there, and just feel like I should talk to them about cutting my hours to 3 days a week and becoming a floater. I feel like a loser admitting this, so any and all advice helps LOL

Quit my job but worried about money

I had to do something very hard today. I had to quit my job. It was not a decision I took lightly. Unfortunately it was my first real job and it was sponsored by vocational rehab, which makes me feel bad about quitting. However, I need to prioritize my mental health. I am a 25 year old individual living with multiple disabilities including type 1 diabetes, adhd and anxiety. The job was causing me a lot of stress and anxiety. I spent 4 hours at the therapy office yesterday. They are also adjusting my anxiety medication, I’m still testing adhd meds. I would like to work but I’m not sure what I want to do. Sitting around and collecting disability is not an option. There has to be something im good at. Both my boss and vocational rehab are proud of me for prioritizing my mental health. However, I am still worried about money, despite the fact that I live with my parents. If I don’t work, I won’t be able to have an income. Money is a big stressor in my life. And I’m also trying to not feel like a failure. Maybe I can craft or sell something on etsy. Or freelance/gig work. There has to be something I’m good at. I’m just not sure what. My plan for now is to priorize my mental health, and I asked my therapy office if I was able to come in twice a week so we shall see what they say. I’m probably not the first one to quit my job due to stress. But I’m afraid I’m The first one to quit their first job. Thank you for taking time to read this post. It was very hard for me to write.

I built a tool that rewrites your resume based on a job description.

Here's how it works:
Download the extension: www.jobmint.ai
Upload your resume: Just the way it is now.
Find your desired job application: Anywhere online.
Highlight the job description: The part that tells you what they're looking for.
Right-click and click 'Generate CV': Boom, tailored resume.
A couple of things to note:
It's in Beta stage: So your feedback is super important. If something's wonky, or you have ideas to make it better, please let me know.
I've got 2 coupons that can be used:
HEROJOB
REFRESH2
Ran out of credit? Just send me a message, and I'll hook you up.
Give it a try, and let me know what you think. And if you run into any snags or have questions, just holler. I'm here.
Happy job hunting!
And thank you for giving it a try!

A robot stole my job today

A robot just stole (part of) my job haha 🙃

I do commission based work for my regional manager sorting through refund spreadsheets and data for 11 local fast food stores getting money back and compensation for mistakes made, courier drivers who take too long etc

Just got an email saying they've developed an automated AI based system to do it all and they no longer need me at all lol

I have other admin duties and a regular wage but got a good additional bonus from this which is gonna suck to lose 🙃

First post first time

(Kinda long) I work at a local fast food restaurant who treats most except the “management employees” with no respect and the bare minimum wage they can while they sit making well over 5$ on the rest of us. Not to mention makes the rest of us (only 2 of us currently my brother and I) clean everything, which isn’t the problem the problem is the nasty things we’re cleaning and some random “3 months terms” where we don’t get payed for at least a week of work so about 29-40 hours just completely missing from our checks, we get payed twice a week but these unspecified “months” they won’t pay us for 3 weeks, then they get really weird and never fully answer where that money goes or what those time periods are for. I’ve about had enough, I’m only 19 and I’m plenty sure I can work part time while I’m collage somewhere much better and I’m about to put 2 weeks in just wanted to see if anything or anyone knows if I can do or say anything to raise a red flag if this is one?!?!? Please somebody let me know!!!!

Environmental Police Officer

I've been in the environment field for a few years now since graduation, and have long considered being an environmental police officer. What's the day to day lifestyle like? Does one need to do all the same training as a traditional police officer for this job? And I would be doing this in the US northeast, likely Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Thanks!

Medical Professional Remote Interview Request

Hey y’all, I am currently taking an upper division summer human physiology course through my Uni called clinical anatomy. It’s been an awesome experience despite being remote. However, my final project is to interview a health professional of my choice and formulate a 5-minute presentation about what I learned.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I do not know the best way to get in touch with a physician and I do not want to burden any physicians or healthcare providers, as I greatly respect and appreciate what y’all go through to become doctors in addition to the dedication and persistence that is required of being a health care professional.

Are there any physicians who are available/willing to do a video chat interview sometime in the next week to help me with this project? I describe my interests below, but I like to keep an open mind because I’m frequently finding new interests. I am completely open to talking with a physician who works in a specialty different than the ones I have thought about so far.

~A little about my education and interests:

For the past few years of my undergrad, I have been taking the suggested pre-med courses because I am interested in possibly becoming a physician in the future. I am a human physiology major with a minor in chemistry.

I know that I have a lot ahead of me before I’m to the point of deciding a specialty; But, brainstorming specialties has been one way for me to assess whether becoming a physician will fit my abilities and interests while allowing me to feel fulfilled in my life and career.

I was initially interested in general surgery or obstetrics/gynecology but over the past year I have become increasingly interested in neurology and psychiatry (in addition to research focused on neuroscience and psychology). In the last month, I’ve also become curious about primary care.

I would be incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to speak with a physician about their career and I hope I can find a doctor willing to help.

What are the pros + cons? How high is the demand? Is it hard or easy to find jobs? Is the pay well (or is it worth a low pay)? Do you recommend becoming a chef, and if so, are there any prerequisites?

Travel rules changed at my job. How does travel pay work for your company?

Tried this in r/careeradvice, but I didn't get much traction.

I travel around the U.S. extensively for my job. This year, my company implemented a policy that will only pay for travel time within normal business hours (8am-6pm). Per the Department of Labor, this is legal for travel pay.

This is a major pay cut for me, as most of our travel happens early in the morning (5am), then we go onsite, and are flying back home around 6pm (generally land in the home airport around 12am).

The executives are saying this is the industry norm. However, the 3 people I have asked who travel (not for my company) say they are reimbursed for all travel time. So is this a standard policy, or should I be concerned about the new rules? Thanks in advance!

[Question] What type of tools do students normally use to find freelancing jobs?

I’m majoring in accounting and my goal is to get into one of the Big Four accounting firms and after gaining some experience, I want to open my own accounting company. As most college students, I try to participate in different extracurricular activities and get internships whenever I can. Besides, as I need to support myself financially while I’m in school, I’ve been keeping myself busy with different side jobs. My side jobs ranged from serving tables, delivering pizzas, parking cars to writing blogs and running social media accounts for a startup.

Recently I was lucky to land a full-time internship (unpaid) in a small private accounting firm. Also I am currently enrolled in 5 classes and my schedule became really tight. On top of these things, I still need to find a job that would pay my bills - something that can be flexible in terms of time and not that hard to do. Basically I'm looking for freelancing jobs now.
Few days ago, I came across http://halisback.com and it seems like pretty much what I am looking for. The website says that there is a freedom and flexibility to work whenever you have the time to and you are able to set your own schedule, and earn money by helping others. It sounds not bad actually, but I am a little skeptical and I wanted to do some research before committing.

I was wondering if anyone here have used them before and if so, could you please share your experience? Also, if you know any other good websites that help students like me to find freelancing jobs, I would really appreciate if you could share them with me. Thank you so much in advance.

HYJ - Tell us about your positive/negative interactions with coworkers and contribute to academic research!

Chances are you are on this subreddit because you like to talk about your job with other people - well, here's your chance to do so with the possibility of winning a $50 Amazon Gift Card!

Most studies do not capture in-the-moment experiences like this one. By participating in this nationwide online project, you are actively contributing to a better understanding of people's everyday work life. Your input can help create solutions for better workplaces in years to come. Your survey responses will be anonymous and we will guard your privacy very carefully.

The study consists of two parts:

  1. Today: An initial screening questionnaire of just 3 minutes assessing whether you are eligible, and an intake survey of 15 minutes.
  2. The next 5 days: A mobile phase during which you will answer 2 brief mobile surveys (1 to 5 minutes) per day, on your smartphone, wherever you are. A sample survey question is: "Did you feel like you had to be inauthentic to yourself or your culture to get along with others at work?" Links to the mobile survey will be sent to you via text message.

The overall time commitment for the study is 1.5 hours max.

Requirements
- You must own a smartphone with a data plan for internet access and the ability to receive a small number of text messages
- You must be older than 18 years

- Must be in the U.S. or Canada

- Additional screening criteria may apply

If you are interested in sharing your experiences and committed to responding to messages throughout the week, please click on the link to begin the process: http://eccles.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aWsNKa6UiFisweN

HYJ as an Accounting Technician?

I have a Finance diploma and honestly accounting wasn't my favourite thing, but I'm noticing a surplus of bookkeeping/accounting assistant positions in my area and I'm dying to get out of my dead-end job (my job is not finance related, it's in a warehouse, it's messy, and the company culture is trying to be Lean but remains awful).

I've been considering doing an Accounting Technician diploma through online distance education and wondered what being on the job is like. Any bookkeepers or related positions can answer too!

Thanks!
