I've seen clips from the modern version and it's made me want to see other renditions of it but in different countries. Imagine a Russian one where Watson served in the Crimean war. Or a Yankee version where Mycroft works for the FBI (I'm aware the FBI didn't exist in the Victorian era but we can also imagine it takes place later in history). Or even an Italian version where Mrs. Hudson runs a pizzeria and lets Sherlock and John stay in the attic, idk.
I would also like a French version. I know Edger Allen Poe technically already gave us that. But to my knowledge I don't think Dupin had a Watson like figure. And the friendship between him and Holmes really seems to drive this series. So a French version where he uncovers if Van Gogh really died of a suicide would be cool.
Finally, I'm sorry if I misjudged any aspects of Holmes' lore. I've actually never read the books and have only really watched clips of the BBC show on youtube. So I'm sorry If I'm not a true Holmes fan. But I guess the great thing about this fanbase is it has existed for over a century. And has had countless renditions as Holmes is only second to Count Dracula in the amount of appearances he's made. So unlike those crappy star wars fans who argue when was the right time to get into it and what is "pure" to the originals. It doesn't really matter when or how you got into this series.
So props to you Doyle. I know you had trouble writing this series. A lady threw a bag at you when you tried to kill Holmes off for Christ sake. But ultimately I think you wrote a tale that will touch humanity for generations to come. Rest in peace you beautiful man.
edit-I think I used the wrong there in the tittle. I'm sorry.
Kind of a niche question, but I was wondering if anyone had pictures/a photocopy of the back cover of the July 1924 edition of the Strand magazine (it should be a full page Lux fabric dye ad). I've been scouring online and although there are twice yearly collections of the publications available, they unfortunately do not include the back cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
~Once a year I go searching for a Holmes radio drama I listened to in the early 00s, I think it was downloaded it via Limewire. Unfortunately the only defining characteristic for me is that Watson's voice was uncharacteristically smooth/soft/deep, and distinctly *sad*.
Very much unlike every other version I've tracked down. Can anyone help ID'ing this?

It looks cool.
Does anybody know the quote or the story it’s from where Sherlock and Moriarity square off and something to the effect of “I know what your going to say” “and I have thought of everything you could say” “then there is nothing to say” is said? I really want to re quote it well. Thanks for your help
