Dedicated to the NES classic
This subreddit is dedicated to one of the greatest NES games of the 1980s, Konami's The Goonies II.
In 1986, Konami released a video game in Japan called "The Goonies", based on the 1985 film. The Goonies II is the sequel to the game.

Hear me out…they do not need to make a sequel to this as it would only be a fan service film with nostalgic throwbacks. It’s a cool concept, but doesn’t work well. Think Star Wars Episode VII.
However, if they wanted to do something that would be different they could rewind the clock and tell the story of One-Eyed Willie.
Movie 1 - Show him as a Spanish Captain who loses his eye during a battle for the Spanish armada. They sideline him because he is no longer fit for duty and this pisses him. Drunk in a tavern, he meets pirates who are telling stories of looting. He then hatches the idea of stealing the Inferno and the royal treasures being delivered. To make this a kid friendly movie, think Pirates of the Caribbean humor.
Movie 2 - This picks up after the one above showing Willie fleeing the Spanish Armada. (Need to get him to Astoria so might as well make him sail the world.) In this one he could pass through the Caribbean. Here he meets up with other famous pirates like Blackbeard or even Captain James Hook (before losing his hand in Neverland), maybe even Jack Sparrow if permitted by Disney. The Spanish Armada is gaining quickly as the treasure is slowing Willie down. He is finally caught up with and ends with the cave walls blown around him.
Movie 3 - The Goonies is re-released in theaters on its 50th anniversary.
Just pitching ideas here. I don’t want to see it remade, but they have possibilities to explore something.
A game/pop music comparison featuring Goonies 2 on NES and ragtime.
I used to play The Goonies 2 daily as a child. Along with the game I had a guide that went into very deep detail about the game. it may have been the Nintendo player's guide dedicated to Goonies 2. Although I cannot find it anywhere online. Does anyone remember this guide, or have it. I recently bought a new copy of Goonies 2 I'm hoping to find one of these for my collection.
Somewhere in the game, there's an infinite door-- you go to the right, and it loops you back into the room you came from. I've always wondered if this is a bug, and something else was hidden there. Does anyone know?
I don't believe there are, but I thought I'd double-check. If I remember right, everything is either up, down, or forward.
it's relaxing. When you know what to do of course. It's a game that you can play and the difficulty is all in the puzzles, so when you know what to do, the game is just enjoyable.
I love the Goonies as a movie, so this game gives me that adventure feel even though it strays from the movie quite a bit.
The music might be one of the best things about this game, and I have it playing at work along side other NES greats like Ninja Gaiden 4-2 song, Castlevania 2, Mega Man 2 wiley stage, etc
After installing Goonies 2 on my NES, it would BSOD every time I insert the disc for it. I suspect that the CD is interfering with the USB ports, but that's just a guess.
Anyone else having Goonies 2 BSOD'ing their NES?
