GERMAN WW2 PORTRAITS & PHOTOS!

A History sub for the study of Germany during the Second World War. Here we look at the men, the equipment, and the build up to war. We also study the many war crimes and horrific atrocities which they carried out.

           RULES

Rules:

  1. Keep Conversations Civil. Many of us are here because of our love for WWII, especially when it comes to the German military. Thus we hope to evoke great discussion on all aspects relating to WWII German photos and history. However we'd like to keep these conversations civil and not turn the comments into an internet battlefield. If someone is bothering you or you feel is being to much, etc, either talk it out, down vote the comment, or just ignore it. If you feel its gotten out of hand, flag the comment as such.
  2. Be Respectful This rule is fairly simple. Just be respectful to others opinions even if you don't agree with them. Their is a down vote button for a reason.
  3. No current politics to be discussed (Historical debates around images or places are exempt) Please no modern politics or anything of the such. For example comparing a modern politician to Hitler, etc. However discussion relating to politics at the time is perfectly fine.
  4. No Holocaust Denying. We cannot stress this enough. We do not tolerate in any form the denial of the Holocaust (The persecution and murder of millions of people deemed inferior by the NAZI's and SS) Breaking of this rule will result in an immediate temporary ban and a 2nd offense will result in a perma ban from the subreddit.
  5. New Reddit accounts will be screened Due to a high number of trolls combined with the sensitive nature of the material discussed on this Subreddit all accounts less than 2 months old will have their comments and posts automatically removed so they may be screened by a moderator.
  6. Include location and date of Photo Whenever Possible When posting please give a date and location whenever possible. The preferred format is as follows. Description of image, location, date. Please try to be as objective as possible, though you may be as subjective as you want in the comments.
  7. Posts must be on topic. As you can guess by the sub's name r/GermanWW2Photos is for pictures of relating to Germany between the years of 1933 and 1946. Photos of Allied or other Axis forces should be posted on r/wwiipics, r/wwiiPlanes, etc. Photos of Allied POW's taken by German photographers are permitted.
  8. This is neither a Neo-Nazi nor an Apologist Sub We want to be quite clear on the fact that this is not a Neo-Nazi nor a Nazi Apologist sub. While Nazi Germany holds a deep historical interest for us we fully acknowledge the horrors it inflicted upon the world and hope to learn from them, not celebrate them.
  9. Postings of medals, documents, equipment and other of era items are allowed. Postings of medals, documents, equipment and other of era items are allowed, however, please keep posting of that nature to a minimum and don't flood the sub with it.
  10. Historical Accuracy As a history sub we value accuracy. Obviously there will be debate, and the occasional myth will accidentally crop up, and that's fine. However blatant falsehoods such as those that promote the myth of the Clean Wehrmacht will be subject to removal. Continual promotion of myths may result in a ban.
  11. Post war pictures of equipment, soldiers and locations are allowed While the main focus of this sub remains on of era photos relating to the Third Reich, we welcome postings of pictures related to equipment used in the post war (most common example Panzer IV in Middle East), veteran soldiers of the war, and modern day locations that relate to the war or the Third Reich.
