I downloaded Term1nal from the Vault a couple of days ago because I saw it in the Oculus GearVr Store, what an excellent game!
It's another 3rd person game which again I would have disregarded in favour of FPS games until I played the Herobound games.
Has anyone found an app that can pair an android phone with gear vr controllers and map Bluetooth signals to a vr app?
Hi all, if you read my other past posts you will see that I managed to overcome the fact that some previously installed apps I'd had in the past wouldn't install via the Oculus store by realising that Play Protect needed to be turned off.
The few I have left such as PortallerDemo will download 100% but won't install despite my checking storage space and that Play Protect is off and I am wondering, if this is due to the Chipset of my S9+ being incompatible with the older games or if it's Knox blocking them which some phones will apparently allow disabling, but on my phone the disable button is greyed out in Apps settings and I wonder if there's another way of disabling it without rooting the handset.
Hi guys,
I'm a student at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Austria. The topic for my masters thesis is "Ergonomics of Head-Mounted Displays" (HMDs). I'm searching for someone who would like to give a short interview regarding their stance on XR/AR/MR/VR Technology. The interview will be about 30 minutes max.
I'm looking for people that use HMDs in their daily life and/or over extended periods of time. Gamers, tech enthusiasts and also specifically people that use HMDs in professional settings. (e.g. 3D Modelling, Animation, Training, etc...)
If you are an experienced user of HMDs and would like to tell your opinion or if you even just want to help out a student an fellow redditor, please send me a DM.
Many Thanks!
Edit: This account is pretty new bc i want to keep my private stuff separate from uni.
I know everyone on Reddit have their own interests, but just wanted to take a moment to say that r/GearVR is what brought me to Reddit in the first place and GearVR is what brings me here now and keeps me here!
I am so grateful to the creator of the group and the main contributors, who without, GearVr would simply be dead & buried!
Applause to you all!
Saw this link mentioned - https://vault.gearvr.net/app/setup-installer-package/
Unfortunately no S6 support 😭
I assume I can't just take the S7 files and expect it to work?
Has anyone played or seen this game Rise Of Insanity before? I had never seen it until last night when I was browsing Meta Horizon and now it shows in GearVr store.
UPDATE: I purchased via Meta Horizon (£3.99) this game downloaded 100% but says it could not install, which is a shame because I'd have made an APK and contribute it ti The Vault!
I requested a refund and rather than waiting several days, the refund came straight through to PayPal!

I have no issues pairing my Gear VR controller with Windows 10 PCs via Bluetooth, but for some reason, the controller isn't discoverable for any of my Windows 11 PCs. Please see the below video for confirmation if needed:
Is this normal? And is there a fix or some other way to get the controller to work with Windows 11?
I would like to play PC VR games using the Gear VR controller in conjunction with iVRy or Driver4VR. Thank you greatly for any help you can provide.
Edit: Added video demonstrating the issue.
I've just completed Desolatium/Sanatorium which may not be everyone's "cup of tea" and consists of real life still photos starting out in a derelict abandoned "Sanatorium" where you move by clicking in various directions and picking up clues and objects most of which don't come of any use.
I think it was just a sample/ experimental project game as it's short and while complete, (you get a "surprise" on completing collecting 7 documents, different endings etc) I would've expected many more actions that didn't come into being, but all that said, in a weird way, I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it's a very basic and should be rubbish!🤣😅😂
Hello! I know it’s a weird request but I kinda wanna do some SteamVR on my Note 4 in my headset (I know it’s pointless because I have a CV1 but I still wanna do it for fun) but I can’t seem to find an apk, just stuff I have to build which is kinda hard because I’d prefer to not have to build any apps or install Linux, does anyone have an already built apk? And I know it’s possible because I installed a MC GearVR apk and it worked good. Any help is appreciated!
When trying to login it lets me get to confirm email address and when i try verify it all it says is unsupported post request. Any fixes?
Hello
I Was Wondering If LineageOS Works For GearVR Due To Android Being Pretty Old On My Samsung And I Want It To Be More Usable So If Anyone Knows If It Does Or Doesnt Please Tell Me!
Hello, I'm looking for devices to watch VR videos. I'm planning to use this device for that. Would it be possible for my device? I'm also new to VR and I found a really cheap GearVR in FB marketplace around $8.
Some new games have arrived in the itch.io store, they look cool, check them out for yourself

Tonight, I've just had a go at following steps and processes to disable and turn off background data for all gearvr and Oculus related apps to prevent things like having to quite regularly uninstalling Meta and Facebook app Managers and Installers.
I'm not sure if this has caused the latest problem (no big deal though, as I can work round it, although a bit of a pain) but now, when I'm in the Oculus library, If I play any app and press "back" on the gear vr controller or goggles, instead of going back to my main app library, the screen goes black and the audio is still playingfor the app I was on.
I have reverted all Oculus and GearVr apps back to normal but the problem still persists.
Any ideas please.
I need help finding gear vr replacements and upgrades. I got my Gear vr (2015) for 7$ 1 year ago, and I want to replace my lenses with newer ones, my straps to be plastic and the cover pads to be more comfortable. But I don't know where to find them. Could someone help?
When I go to the screen mirroring section, none of my devices that I have turned on mirroring mode are listed. Is there a special mirroring app for this?
Good morning everyone, I apologize for my bad English, I'm Brazilian and I'm using Google Translate.
This week I got 2 Oculus Gear VR with controller. However, I noticed that it is relatively "old" and I would like to know if it is still usable in 2024.
In a brief search I discovered the existence of the Gear VR app, however when I put it on a Samsung S8, it opens the application to install the apps and always gives an error, "network error" or "error installing Samsung internet".
I would like to know if it is possible to use nowadays, other than YouTube videos and things like that, some real interaction between controls, either through the Gear VR app itself or some alternative app.
I would like to give my little brother some downloaded games and things like that, I would like to thank you in advance for your patience in reading this far.
I have a GearVR on a Galaxy S8 phone that I've used for years. The other day I made the mistake of enabling internet on the phone. It was probably last connected to the internet 3 years ago. Even though I didn't manually update anything (something auto-updated), Oculus Home changed to now having a 10s countdown followed by a required Sign In. I know about the trick of putting the GearVR Service into Developer Mode to launch applications directly. However, what I want to know is: Can anyone identify what version of .apks that the Sign In was added? I want to know what versions of the GearVR .apks I had before, so that I can manually install them back to the way they were and have it just be used offline. Thanks in advance!
UPDATE (11/17/2024): I'm back to normal. What happened was Facebook must have auto logged me out when I reconnected to WiFi because the Facebook app was old. I tried to re-log into Facebook and it said "an error has occurred". So I updated Facebook to the latest version, logged in, and then my Oculus Browser went back to normal and I can use it again in Airplane Mode. I no longer need the Developer Settings on the "Gear VR Service" to enter the apps. I can just put the S8 into the headset and it will auto launch the Oculus Browser as it did before and the 10s countdown thing is gone.
I've fixed this issue several times, but that's the problem, it keeps coming back. What is installing the meta app manager update that I keep removing?
I've not seen a solution for stopping the update occuring, but maybe I've just missed something obvious.
Just got back into gear vr and was wondering if I can still play online (I have small hope). I used to play games like altspace vr and I'm wondering if online play can somehow work.
Just a quick update on this. My Gear setup includes a Galaxy S10e that has been rolled back to Android 11. This was my old phone that had a broken screen but was still mostly useable in Gear VR. This past weekend I decided to get the screen repaired and afterward I wanted to load some of the latest games from the Vault. I started with the Go games that are listed as not compatible with the Gear VR (S8) on the site, and Thumper in particular as I own this game on the PSVR.
I'm happy to report that the few games I've tested on the S10 all appear to work including Thumper. I notice a few bugs: trying to use the wireless controller causes Thumper to crash, but a bluetooth gamepad works fine. It also seems to crash at the end of the level, but progress is saved and you can reload and continue after the crash.
I didn't see anywhere on the Vault site itself to provide this feedback so I figured I'd drop a note here. Feel free to respond with any questions or requests to test any other games.
Hi, hope you are all well.
It's been a few weeks since I used my Gearvr properly and I have finally completed HeroBound First Steps. I never realised it was a "demo" and in my opinion it isn't because if it is, it's a very long one!
I'm now playing Herobound Spirit Champion and while it's part of the same series, so far, it has a different feel!
Whereas First steps was a 3rd Person perspective and felt like a 3D arcade platformer, so far, Spirit Champion feels more of an Adventure/puzzle game and kind of 2nd person and so far also a little more relaxed, although I haven't play much of it yet, so like the first one, it'll Probably get devilishly difficult!
As fantastic as it was, a Herobound First steps style game would be even more amazing if you could flick between 1st and 3rd person.
Because I have found some of my "not installed" library such as Portaller will download to 100% but fail to install, even though I have turned off play protect, I looked into downloading Nox which has the feature of Emulating the S7 etc and also the feature of capturing APKs before they are auto deleted upon attempted install.
However, the latest NOX gets stuck on a well known issue of "your graphics card driver need updating" and would not install and despite trying all the options and tuition on Youtube I could not get round it.
So I looked at an older version and it advises to turn off Mcafee and any other Anti Virus software and according to Reddit forums, Nox contains Malware! The older version is not on Nox official website or at least I couldn't find it, but my pc is only 32bit and is now quite old so It may not be capable of doing the Job anyway. Any ideas?
I live in Brazil and here the taxes are high and the salary is low, would you have any idea about importing or something?
I bought Samsung gear vr but I discovered that it works with some models like S7 S6 I want to know if any one test it by any other brands like XIAOMI POCO
THANKS
Hello! I'm thinking in buying a Gear VR to use it with my S20 FE, I'm not interested in the Gear VR functions, I will use it for PCVR but I have 2 questions
The first is, will the Gear VR have enough space for my S20 FE 5G and will it be on the center?
The second is, I'm interested on buy 2 Gear VR controllers for using it in my PC as PCVR controllers, it is possible? I read that it is complicated and I only finded a Russian guy talking about modifying some things in the regedit on windows 10 to make it work, here's the link if anyone wants to try it and tell me.

Without anymore to say, thank you for reading and I'll be waiting for responses, thanks!!!
Hey so I got my s7 edge working and the controller seems to be acting really strange, when I initially move my hand it moves with the hand as expected, but then glides back to pointing to the ground. How do I fix this?
Edited: I uploaded the video I mentioned In the comments to YouTube so you all can see the problem I have. I've tried callibrating my compass, magnetic sensor and neither have worked. GearVr's oculus app doesn't calibrate it properly either. https://youtube.com/shorts/lGQl8Nar3nM?si=OBCGO8ru3H-HaDqS
I've lost the USB adapter that the S7 edge used for my gearvr, how can I use the edge with the USBC adapter?
i got a s7 recently and I wanted to use it on my gear vr but there is no download button
edit : now it is the facebook session expired error on oculus app
