Firefox Reality in this link works on Gear VR. But this need a Gear VR Controller.

As in the video, when I try to enter text with the keyboard on some sites, nothing happens. What should I do?

I have an S7 and an S8 and I tried setting up my old GearVR for my kid.

On both phones I succeeded in a way, but I have to take the phone out of the VR set every time when I switch applications. The Library menu is not visible as in some videos on YouTube that point to gearvr.net

I tried to do the Unbrick guide very carefully, but there is one thing different, and it on both the S7 and S8,

which is that my last app on the install list is not found in the list of apps and services needed to install manually. On the bottom of the list, everyone has Oculus System Utilities or Oculus something. But for me on both phones the last item is: "Gear VR System" which is not found in “Oculus_Install_Files.zip” or with the additional files. I found it in another package and it works. But I can only start apps from outside the vr environment. No Library in the oculus room. I take the phone out, launch an app and then put it back in.

Can anyone help? Is there a way around it? Is it a known issue? Is there a place I can seek help like discord or something?

Wow, I've just finished Eclipse Edge Of Light! What a game!

When I first downloaded it (several months ago now) I thought it was going to be a Sci-fi shooter game, but it's an Adventure Puzzle Game along the lines of the amazing Daedalus and Land's End only even more amazing!

If you've played and like Daedalus, Land's End you are going to love Eclipse Edge Of Light and vice versa.

I came across a yt video of an old Gear VR home environment. Can anyone tell me anything about it. Did it have a name, is it still downloadable?

Taking everything step by step, I am now finally able to install apps in Oculus Home. However, no matter which app I install, it immediately prompts me with an update that would be available (however when I click update is just repeats downloading and installing the same app) and when I select "launch anyway" I get an error message stating "<app name> requires online services that do not work wth this device". So my question is: what am I doing wrong here? Have I missed something?

Other observations:

• The 3 default apps (oculus browser, samsung internet, gallery) do work.
• I couldn't log in using facebook, it does accept my username/passwd but then it directs me to a webpage that cannot be reached. But then it kinda accepted my oculus credentials, so I suppose that works, it shows the apps I bought back in the days (not installed though) and even my old apps wishlist shows up

I have a quest 3 and was hoping to play smash hit vr since I remember the game from the early days and thought it would be so cool, but when I try to play it it seems like maybe the eyes are flipped? Or seriously misaligned andni was wondering if there is a fix for this or what the cause was

Ive used the apk applications and it worked. But its been a few months and now i tried again and suddenly everytime i try to open oculus or other vr apps over developer mode, it says „oculus keeps stopping“ or „unexpected failure“ or something like that. I tried to reinstall every apk file again but its still the same.. what could be the issue?

I found my old s7edge (not used for almost 5 years) sorting my house, and wanted to use it with its oculus gear vr. And it resulted on the brick loop.

I found the guide on gearvr.net https://gearvr.net/unbrick But it didn't work :(

Indeed, several steps of installation are ok. BUT I have to install "gear VR service" and I dont find it on the package ! I only found it on the new package for another phone and it refuses to install.

Do you have this apk for s7edge ? Or another idea ;)

Hello, I come to bring you a possible solution to the incompatibility of these 2 apks and possible others that work with an xbox controller via OTG. The problem is that Minecraft did not respond to the controller's sticks and for thumper it did not start from the menu. The solution is that gear vr must be started without the hand controller, this generates incompatibility with the xbox controller(possibly due to sharing keys that send similar signals) . If you depended on the camera centering of the gear hand controller, you can use the Back or select button on the xbox controller instead, it does the same function. I hope it helps.

J’ai essayé toutes les versions de ces logiciels disponibles sur le tutoriel et sur le site apkmirror mais mon smartphone m’indique une fois la notification de google play protect « appli non sécurisée bloquée » ceci :

Application non installée.

Donc à cause de cela, je ne peux pas accéder à la suite de la configuration.

Je sèche sur cette problématique et compte sur vous afin de m’aider !

hello guys, i want to play games and browse the internet with a controller instead of using the touchpad on my headset, is the a way to trick my headset into thinking that my dualshock / dualsense controller is a gear vr controller? they're both 3dof and they probably can have the same controls, so is that possible?

Just out of curiosity, is there a particular phone that has higher or lower compatibility with the various GearVR apps? Someone told me the S10 wasn't compatible with some games while the S8 had excellent compatibility, but I haven't seen that documented anywhere.

I recently bought what I believe to be the latest version of Gear VR with a controller, and I also got an S7 Edge to go with it. It works great, I absolutely love it, but I’m frustrated by the limitations we still have in 2025. Is there a good, well-functioning alternative app launcher for Gear VR that works in VR mode rather than the standard mode?

For some reason the Oculus browser won't respond. It does open, and I can move a cursor but that's it. Same thing with skybox vr.

Hello! I managed to get an apk for Minecraft on the gear vr, but when i booted it up, it told me to press X. I tried finding a button on the gear vr standard remote, and nothing worked. Same thing with nintendo switch controllers. Those are the only options i have. Any solutions?

What happened to the oculus app? I was now going to the playstore to try and downlaod it back but it's not there is there anyway to get it back or did it change names?

I bought the gear Vr with a controller but if I try to connect it with Bluetooth to my phone it does not work. There is a pop up which says that it needs an app to use the device. Can somebody please help?
