Looking for a good couch coop rpg game that involves attacking and collecting and upgrading weapons and armour. We love borderlands and have enjoyed baldurs gate dark alliance in the past. Played ascent recently too and really liked it apart from the glitches. Recently tried Diablo IV and we both got bored, so that’s out.
I'm looking for any RPG that designs their quests so you have enough in-world information available (eg. journal entries, dialogue from NPCs) to figure out where to go and how to complete the quests, without having to use an objective marker.
Morrowind is a classic example of this. Older cRPGs like Baldur's Gate I and II also do this well.
I find I interact with the world much less when objective markers tell me what to do and where to go.
I love isometric puzzle games and Captain Toad and Lego Bricktales have been some of my recent favorites. Ideally, I’m looking to get these games cheap during the Steam sale. They don’t need to be limited to isometric, just giving a few examples of the vibe I’m going for.
I really love Powerwash Simulator as my mindless busy work game to play when I'm exhausted and just need to turn my brain off. It's incredibly zen for me to just take a random 30 minutes in any given day to play.
I think I'm finally burnt out on it though, and am curious if there's anything similar people on here have found? I love that PWS has so few rules, no clock, etc.
I really like Skyrim and the feel of it, but are there and other games that are better than Skyrim and have there own twist to the open world genre? I want a game where you feel free to do almost whatever but not so much thats its overwhelming. I would also like to start off weak at the bottom in game and play the game casually to become overpowered, the level ups should feel like i worked for it and be rewarding. Level up and skill trees are cool aswell. I dont want the game to be super demanding of pc's either as my device isint the most upto date thing out there.
are there any games like this? or am i asking too much? i dont care if its 2d or 3d as long as it has a sense of progression.
I played this a couple years ago. I remember it pretty clearly, but can't find it and don't remember the name.
* It had a sort-of medieval setting
* You created a team of 3 warriors with different skills. There was an archer, an agility melee warrior with a spear, and a heavy duty warrior. You could exchange people, but never have more than three.
* The main game was on a campaign map, with cities/settlements, roads, forest etc. you could move around. you could enter settlements to look for quests, buy food and equipment etc.
* Combat was done on a separate map, turn-based.
I hope anyone has any clue what this game might be. I played it on Android mobile.
Yeah, that’s pretty much it. My library feels a bit bland to me right now. I’m not really picky when it comes to genre, although I do have a preference for more action-driven games. I’ve played a lot of metroidvanias, fps games, narrative-based games (Papers, Please for example, if you can count it as one).
One of the games I’ve been really enjoying lately is BlazBlue Entropy Effect though, I really love how satisfying it is and how diverse the characters and their abilities are.
Mullet Mad Jack was also really fun. I’ve also really been enjoying The Finals, the destructible environments, and different abilities/weapons are really cool.
You could also just recommend the games you’ve been enjoying currently, anything really.
Thanks !
What is a game that you’ve played when you were younger and will just stay with you forever ? For me it’s Empire Earth and Dungeon Keeper 2, played it so much as a child and recently got a pc just so I could experience them games again. Was wondering what other answers you’d would have ?

I know nothing about these consoles and he's into gaming on his phone but never had a gaming console so I am not sure which to choose to get him for Christmas. He really enjoys playing COD mobile if that helps with anything---I'd say he'd be playing COD type games, farming simulation/simulator games, etc. If you were to get one for Christmas, would you want a PS5 or Xbox? What do you recommend I get him and the reasoning behind why one is better than the other? I am hoping to buy on amazon for cyber Monday sales so all help/advice is appreciated as I can't ask him because it's a surprise! Thanks in advance for all answers

i have recently been pretty bored of any game I start because I happen to be very picky about the games that can sparkle my interest. i have really enjoyed playing genshin since it’s release for maybe about three years, then I love minecraft (obviously) and really liked zelda: breath of the wild but I don’t have full access to it as I don’t have a switch myself. these kinds of games are catchy for me visually, also because of their wide world exploration and RPG elements and kind of easier combat mechanics. I love mostly exploring the world and the lore, as well as customisation of either characters or worlds (like the teapot in genshin, for example). and I like challenging character skills and other stuff upgrading, but not too difficult (for example - runescape is a no-no for me because I just don’t want to grind that much lol). anyone knows more good games that are giving off the same vibes as the games mentioned above?
another games that I also enjoyed are tomb raider and palia, though palia was kind of bland to me so I quit it fast. searching for this kind of “cozy” game but at the same time something that would keep me invested. would be very grateful for any suggestions!! :)
I came across a VR game on Instagram Reels where you drive around a city with some glock and basically just shoot enemies whenever you want. I am looking for a game where I could get that satisfaction from hitting my targets. Many FPS games now seem to make shooting almost too easy, just spray 30 bullets with an M4, and somehow, you’ll hit something with at least 2 of them. And if you don’t, there’s always a grenade launcher to guarantee a kill lmao. I’m looking for a FPS that’s more challenging, where it’s just you, your gun, and every kill feels earned, rewarding and satisfying. The closest I've got to looking for this kind of game was playing GTA in first person camera and shooting Ballas at Grove Street lmao, but it's still GTA. Also Ready or Not kinda matches what am I looking for when it comes to shooting, but I'd prefer to shoot with pistol in open world city, and not with a rifle on a special mission in Mexico.
The game has to be available on PC and playable with keyboard and mouse. If photo could explain what am I looking for - this one does it pretty good:)
I love the Idea of stat grinding like in Solo leving and other animes like Sword Art Online, but I just havent found any games that are quite right. Honestly, the best games I have found for dungeon crawlers are on roblox. I hate the old medival looks that so many of these types of games have, and I love the idea of being able to upgrade each individual stat and unlocking new abilities. If not specific stats, at least a large skill tree. I understand that there arent many games like this since its so complex, but I cant find even 1? Open world MMO's and RPG's are the closest I can get, but Im just getting bored of those because of their lack of foucs on the "limitless" abilities and combos, since they usually lean into I kinda forced skill tree where you only have a few choices based on your class
My friend and I are looking for a game that is both PvP and PvE oriented. Please suggest your options for what we should play.
What we have already thought about:
Ideally, it would be something closer to session games than MMO, but it seems we are stopping at Destiny for now.
We are not sure that we want a survival game, because we are both pissed off that while we are offline, our base has already been destroyed.
Kingdom Hearts Silent Hill Vampyr The Last of Us Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Games I won’t consider because I’ve already watched someone play them:
The Witcher 3 Horizon Zero Dawn Resident evil 2/7/8 God of War/Ragnarock Uncharted 4 FF7 remake
I tend to enjoy simpler games so cyberpunk, elden ring, sekiro etc are not really my cup of tea. Was considering Tomb Raider or Days Gone. Any other suggestions?
So i have been playing a lot of valheim with my brother lately and I am in love with it. I particularly enjoy exploring new areas and biomes and the base building. I haven't been able to get much into it on a solo playthrough as it feels a little lonely and is a bit too difficult for me. My brother has carried me through most biomes.
The game doesn't have to be a survival game but that would be a plus. I also really enjoy the fantasy elements of valheim or god of war. I enjoyed God of War though the world felt a bit limited. Other games I really liked are RDR2, where I loved exploring or going hunting, of course I also loved the story. Same thing is true with Cyberpunk 2077. the thing with story based games is I tend to get over them once the story is done and I don't bother going back to finish quests, bosses etc.. I would prefer something more like valheim basically. Just ideally with some NPCs or other elements that make the game feel less lonely.
I am not really looking for a game like RDR of GOW but I thought I would mention them regardless. I did also try out Bladurs gate 3 and I loved the setting, story and world but ended up refunding it because I couldn't get into the turn based combat, and didn't want to gamble 60 Euros that I would get used to it.
I have also played subnautica and the long dark, but i got tired of them after some time. I did like Kingdom come deliverance, but it felt a bit too difficult for no reason at times which turned me off it. Though I will hopefully go back to these games at some point.
Elden Ring looks amazing to me but I know it will be too difficult for me to enjoy.
Games I am currently considering are Enshrouded, Skyrim, the Witcher, Outer wilds, No mans Sky.
Hello. I'm looking for a city or building building game like townscaper but with more options for the things you can build. Also tiny glade but my computer sucks and that needs better graphics than I have. For reference I have a windows 10 laptop. It can run Minecraft and my brother has run Planet Zoo on it.
RPG can be defined in many ways, for the purposes of this question, here's mine:
In your opinion, what RPG comes closest to meeting these criteria? In terms of actual gamer experience, not marketing.
Any video game era, any system, any GUI, any style, any lore - orcs or space marines or pirates, I don't care.
Hello all! I've been wanting to play a game with courtly intrigue and politics at the forefront, preferably a first or third person action RPG. Ideally, the game will take place only within the court or the houses of nobility, with most exploration only taking you as far as the city in which you reside. I'm amiable to other genres as well, however. I enjoy horror and tragedy in my games, so if it's a horror game that is certainly welcome. I can't think of a single title that has what I'm looking for, but my range of experience is somewhat limited, and I'm hoping someone else will have some recommendations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
So I'm late 30s gamer who still has decent chops, but year by year I get more fed up with the gaming culture/meta of burst damage obsession, results oriented, uninteractive gameplay patterns that permeate so many PvP games. While I'm competitive I'm also the type of player who would rather lose a fun, close fight with some interesting back-and-forth vs. taking a guaranteed win by nuking someone's face off. Many would call it "playing with your food" but I call it just being more interested in the combat than the results.
That said are there titles out there that maintain skillful gameplay while intentionally pushing a much higher TTK? I'm pretty open as far as genres go but am looking for something that still has action gameplay/skill expression but just with literally massive health pools in relation to damage output. Example: League of Legends ARAM where both teams are full of tanks/bruisers.
Thanks for any suggestions :)
my favorite memories from playing fps games were maps like operation locker in bf4, where most of the fighting takes place in one main choke point, and everybody pretty much bases right behind that big wall, with ammo bags and medics set up all around it. there was an old shooter i used to play called ace of spades that had this map that was basically a long valley, where each team would build bunkers on each side, and youd spend the whole match pushing the front line back and forth. any other games with decent player counts with that same gameplay loop?
I wanna game like Detroit become human so that means I want a game with story and your choice actually matters and and doesn’t have to, but I would like it if it was a game where your choice will actually be important at the end also and if possible, many endings, but that’s just a bonus and does it have to but like it if it was like a long game at least like 7 hours at least
Hey everyone, been thinking about GTA3 a bit and the aspects of it that feel offputting and uncanny when you sit in it too long. There's a youtuber I really like (Joyless) who talks quite a bit about this specific flavour of odd vibe in video games, does anyone have any recommendations for open world games that feel this way? City settings would be preferred, as I think that's the easiest genre to make feel this way
you can create your own co-op championship series out of the available tracks and run them with a friend? I really like the Forza Horizon co-op championship stuff, but there's only 1 or 2 per week, and you can't create new ones, so if anyone knows of a game where you can do this, I would love to hear about it. Can be sim or sim-cade, but needs to have a driver's line available either way. I might consider some arcade racing options if available.
Is there way to brand the Pretender any time I find him he always has the unbreakable perk.
Hello,
i need help finding a game that I cant remember the name of! its from around the time half life came out say 1994-maybe around 1998.
It was like the half life series first person shooter but all I can remember from it is the video intro of when soldiers get of some ships at some research station surrounded by giant plants to find everyone has disappeared then the plants started attacking the soldiers and the captain ran to a ship to help them to then get eaten by the plant whilst the rest of the troops evacuated on the ships.
sorry if its vague, its doing my head in that I cant remember the name of the game. I also think the front cover of the game was yellow.
thanks everyone.
Okay so I'll start by listing some of my favorite games I've played in the last year or two:
Subnautica, Outer Wilds, Stardew Valley, Valheim, Helldivers 2, Golf Story, Elden Ring, Zelda TotK
Other games I've played and enjoyed also include:
Red Dead 1&2, Cyberpunk, Zelda BotW, Hollow Knight, God of War, Pacific Drive, Dave the Diver, Jedi Survivor, Star Field, Vampire Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, The Last of Us (don't have a PS, borrowed for this one), Hyrule Warriors
Games I've tried and haven't really gotten into:
Wukong, Undertale, Enshrouded, Disco Elysium (still playing this one on and off but haven't been hooked), Hades, Baldur's Gate 3 (haven't actually tried but not quite ready too, I will!), Witcher 3
I'm not looking for a platformer or a rogue-like/lite. Just finished TotK and am in a big rut trying to find something to hook me in like the games on my first list did. Open to a 'survival' game but a little burnt out on inventory management and resource collection tbh.
Edit: okay, sorry first time posting here, let me say why I enjoyed those games. I liked the mystery, exploration of Subnautica, Outer Wilds and Valheim a lot, discovering more about a world and the story of a game as you play is appealing to me. Helldivers and Elden Ring and Valhiem all have a sort of epic-ness to them that I found very appealing, very grand-scale, big-hero energy. All five of those also delivered on a very immersive experience that I enjoyed. I liked TotK's sidequests that built the world, at first I put that game down after a few hours but when I came back to it recently I got sucked in and couldn't put it down. Golf Story is hard to explain, it's funny, the progression felt very nature, and the art style was great (same for all of these, really).

Hello people,,
I really need help finding games that are similar to fire emblem or triangle strategy which is the only other game, I could find that scratches that itch for me.
It doesn't matter which platform it's on.
What it should have: Melee focused combat Preferably bigger maps
Optional: Permadeath Unit recruiting on maps/levels Unit customisation Not completely over the top colourful like disgaea
What I don't want in the game: Primarily ranged combat like XCOM or jagged alliance which seems to be 90% of all turn based strategy games in that category that I could find.
I really hope someone in this sub can help.
Hi y’all! I recently moved in with a friend, and we usually spend a couple hours hanging out in the evening. I play games on my laptop and screen cast them to the tv while they draw. Which is fun, but in my old housing setup I would usually play on my (windows) desktop, and gaming on a laptop usually relegates me to strategy games. I don’t want to be antisocial and hide in my room playing games, but I just don’t own that many games that run on mac period, nonetheless ones I could play with a controller.
So what are your favorite games that will run on max and have native controller support? Preferably good games to unwind with. I play a huge variety of games, about the only thing I’m not into are shooters. Any suggestions appreciated!
Edit: running on an M1 chip MacBook Pro
