Toby Fox is the creator and composer of Undertale and Deltarune, and has made other songs outside of those, and I have yet to find a song of his that DOESN'T slap. I am not too knowledgeable on music and music theory, so I wanted to ask some people who might know better, what do you think makes all of his songs so good and memorable? (outside of leitmotifs)
I am looking for some good games to compare that have an amazing environmental/aethetical immersive experience because of the music. Preferably it would be great if maybe it was a franchise that has little immersive music in the early stages of the series (Ex. maybe first or 2nd zelda game which is limited a lot in technology), and then in the later games, the music developes significantly to add to the environmental immersion of the gaming experience. Or, it could even be one game that has a remake with an improvement in the immersive music over the years. OR it could be two different, unrelated games with 2 drastically different approaches to videogame music immersion that I could compare. (Its for a school research paper btw!) Any help would be greatly appreciated!n Hopefully you may know some good comparisons!
So I was listening to music on the radio when I hear what sounds like a Final Fantasy intro sequence, then realize it's Lucky Star by Madonna. Now, I'm trying to pin point which FF title screen sounds the most like it. My initial thought was the NES games, as they have the same kind of cords, but I could have sworn there was a SNES FF game that sounded even closer to Luck Star's intro. Anyone else have similar thoughts?
Jazz or lo-fi remix version of Radical Highway, from Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog.
It can be from any game, I'm just looking to discover new stuff.
Hello 👋,
You probably remember me, maybe, since I'm not often in this subreddit. I had previously asked a question about how to compose 90s video game music. In this post, I would like to know how to compose music in Furnace Tracker, similar to AM4N and John “Joy” Tay. They are two talented composers in the Furnace Tracker community.
At the moment, I don't have the means to get a MIDI keyboard, but I would also like to know if my 8GB laptop would be enough to run the app itself. The compositions that I will try to make will be similar :
