/r/GameCult
The goal of /r/GameCult is to provide a place for older gamers to discuss games, and gaming culture without memes or fanboyism. Submissions should be for the purpose of discussing current releases, old favorites, and upcoming games you're excited about.
We encourage discussion of the games, the stories and the gameplay you care about.
This is not the place to post about the industry and no posts discussing journalism/events/developers/drama. There are plenty of other subs dedicated to that.

Might want to fix that if you want people to take this place seriously.
I would love to start a discussion about this,
Howdy, I want to share a Kickstarter funding page for a high-concept, comic-book style graphic adventure game that is over 80% funded already. I am part of the development team doing audio, localization feedback and some advertising as you can see here. This game is artistically inspired by Frank Miller, Mike Mignola and Moebius and features a dark, intense horror story as a demon slayer investigating in a corrupted city.
I prefer to keep my post short and concise, so please see more information at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1353100600/the-blind-prophet-blood-of-the-apostle?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=the%20blind%20prophet&fbclid=IwAR0P7KZFeyHnLk5DmT5_p0tvJJOzm9l028VKxEdD6djXoU2TnTg3da_vGig.
A trailer of the game can be found here: https://youtu.be/mtU2kqCBx_8.

Hi, [some self promotion below] Can you recommend any games which deal with serious topics like alcoholism, mental issues etc.?
I'm one of the developers of Lydia (http://store.steampowered.com/app/629000/Lydia/), an adventure game about alcoholism from the perspective of little girl.
Interlight Studios was founded in 2015. We are a Game Development company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are currently developing small, interesting and fun games of all genres and types. Here at Interlight Studios, we strive to explore content that exists in ourselves. Ignoring market trends and quick selling fads, we want to create new and original games for our audience to experience; to feel and enjoy rather than to just play.
Another thing we are aiming to do here is to reconnect the burnt bridge between developers and gamers. There are plenty of times companies only change their policies or games because they are losing money. We, however, want to build and enjoy a relationship with our consumer; to interact and create content based on what our customer wants, while still imparting the message we as creators intend to portray. We release our games in Alpha stage and Beta stage, and we want the community to tell us what they want to see, what they love or what they hate about our games. Feedback is very important to us. We want to create the best experience and include the community as we grow.
The final thing we aim to do as a studio is to be the model of change that we wish to see in the industry. We wish to look and approach new ideas in a way that will get us noticed, but uphold and stick to our guns on what makes a game fun. We want to build a network to share and educate other studios, and most importantly, we want to have fun making whatever we want. Want to get involved or interested in learning more about our projects? Subscribe to our subreddit and join our discord below:
With the new game being announced, I thought it would be cool to think about what we want to see in the new game. Here are 10 things I want but I'm more interested in what YOU want.
That's what I want to see. What would you guys like to see?
I'm sure many of you remember the days before mobile phones and app stores, when puzzle games were standalone (often full priced) titles. Did you have any favorites? Any that you still play regularly today? (examples being things on the SNES, like Puyo or Tetris Attack, or something like Columns on the Genesis).
Hi! I hope to get some feedback for this hardcore programming puzzle game I developed : Mind-Machine Interface: graphics, bugs, difficulty, anything you want to talk about. Also, I wanted to gather some help to greenlight this game I made inspired by great Zachtronics games (like TIs-100) and Human Resource Machine. Vote if you think it is good enough!
Mind-Machine Interface is a programming puzzle game where you use blocks and circuit segments on a matrix to buil a program that manipulates pixels and numbers. Puzzles are hard, open ended and focus on very different ideas: Bouncing ball, sequence sorters, path finding algorithms, etc.

What do you guys think of this news?
I was talking to a friend of mine about his dvd gaming collection which he has organised alphabetically from left to right, he also has a dvd collection that he has organised from date of release also from left to right. I find it out that he has organised it from left to right. I think it makes more sense to have it left to right because when you go to a did rental store or a library they have it from left to right. Where as I my self organise my DVDs and gaming collection from right to left, with my most reached for on the right on side.
My question is, when you organise your collection of games do you have them organised from right to left, or left to right?
TLDR;my friend stacks his gaming collection in a left to right pattern, I do it from right to left. Which way do you organise yours?
Hey /r/GameCult subs! I just wanted to drop by and ask you maybe to check out my new subreddit /r/justgamestuff
It's a small community filled with true gamers such as yourselves where you can go and discuss anything gaming related!
So, any games, any consoles, news, reviews etc. Anything you can think of that surrounds gaming, you will find here.
It's a small community but its growing fast and I'd love for you to become a part of it, psst we're also looking for mods if y'know what I mean.
So please just take the time to take a look /r/justgamestuff Thanks in advance!
I've noticed that this subreddit hasn't had a text post in 4 months, which leads to me ask if it has been entirely abandoned?
Because there's that one game I used to play, at least 14 years ago, that I just can't remember the name of.
It was a PC pirates versus merchants type game (I think), where you were trying to make money selling rum, bread, and a couple other things in ports, which you could trade or battle other ships for. Crew came from taverns and sometimes mutinied. It was nice and simple, and I miss it :(.
(not sure if this is the right place to post this, but figured I'd try anyways.)
Edit: So, I posted this question on r/tipofmytongue and it was High Seas Trader, (thaks u/jook11 )
Tell me what games you've been playing and why
