Hiring 2D Artist(s) to create customizable character sprites in a style similar to Stardew Valley for an upcoming game.

Hi everyone!

I'm really excited to have this opportunity to reach out to the talented artists here! I'm looking for someone to help create customizable character sprite sheets for my 2D pixel art game, in a style similar to Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper.

I've been using placeholder graphics and feel it's time to develop a unique style that fits the game's aesthetic. While I don't have every detail figured out, I'm aiming for sprite sheets that allow for customization and modularity.

Project Details:

  • Art Style: 2D Top(ish) down, pixel art, similar to the linked sprite sheet example below from Stardew Valley.
  • Requirements:
    • Customizable character sprite sheets.
    • Basic animations, including walking/running in all directions.
    • Possibly an interaction animation.
  • Potential Future Opportunities:
    • Additional work on NPCs.
    • Player apparel and customization options like hairstyles, facial hair, etc.

What I'm Looking For:

  • Experience in creating modular and customizable sprite sheets.
  • Familiarity with pixel art styles akin to Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper.
  • Creative input to help refine and solidify the character designs. I am not an artist, hence why I am seeking one out, haha!

How to Respond:

I look forward to hearing from all of you! If you're interested, please include the following in your response:

  • A bit about yourself and your experience with similar projects.
  • An idea of your quote range and estimated time frame.
  • Any additional info about yourself beyond your portfolio (though I'd love to see your portfolios as well!).

Please feel free to respond here or send me a direct message!

Thanks, everyone! -Ben

Sound Designer looking for Projects

Hey everyone! I'm a recent grad with some game sound experience, both in sound design and music composing. I'd love to expand my portfolio and support some indie projects.

I've worked with Unreal Engine, Wwise, etc. before, mainly for horror games, but I'm open to exploring different genres. Here's my showreel. Please let me know if you're interested :]

GAIAONLINE + CLUB PENGUIN = MOODYBEARZ

🌟 Want to Build the Next Cozy Online Hangout? Join Us! 🌟

Hey there! Do you ever miss the days of hanging out in games like Gaia Online or Club Penguin—games where you could just be yourself, connect with friends, and explore a cute world that felt like home? I’m working on a project to bring that feeling back, with a whole new twist!

Picture this: a world filled with adorable bear characters 🐻, tons of places to explore, fun mini-games, and a community that’s all about making friends, showing off your unique style, and just having fun. That’s what I want this game to be. And I need some awesome people to help make it happen!

Who I'm Looking For

  • Programmers and Developers: Help us bring this world to life! There’ll be lots of social features, customization options, and mini-games—so if you’ve got coding skills and a love for cozy, community-centered games, you’ll fit right in.
  • Musicians: Let’s give this world a soundscape that makes people smile! Your tunes could be what players hum long after they log off.
  • Designers and Artists: I have a vision and some of the art already, but there’s so much room to create! Imagine designing cute outfits, fun mini-game themes, or cozy hangout spots for players to enjoy.
  • Anyone with Passion: Seriously, if you’ve got a love for games and want to bring joy to others, I’d love to hear from you!

Why Join?

  1. Real Creative Freedom: This project isn’t some rigid corporate thing. Your ideas and creativity will help shape the game. Want to try something new? We’re all ears!
  2. Nostalgia with a New Twist: People are craving cozy, nostalgic games, and we’ve got a chance to make something they’ll love.
  3. A Community-Focused World: This isn’t just about gameplay; it’s about giving people a space to connect, unwind, and have fun together. You’ll be part of building a positive community from the ground up.
  4. We’re in This Together: I’m not just here to pitch you an idea and disappear. I’ve got experience in marketing and am fully committed to seeing this through, alongside you!

If you want to be part of a project that’s all about creativity, fun, and bringing people together, let’s chat! Whether you’re a pro or just really passionate, I’d love to talk about how you could be a part of this.

Ready to create something special? Drop me a message, and let’s make MOODYBEARZ, a reality! 🌈🐻

[HIRING] Programmer, Level Designer & VFX Artist; Initial Consultation for 2D Art Game

Hi All,

Once Upon a Time in 1999 is a fully voiced comedy and urban-fantasy adventure game set in a 2D-art environment with animated cutscenes. Players must solve various puzzles, tasks and character interactions in a contained level in order to advance the story through illustrated scenes, inspired by story-rich games such as Square Enix’s Little Goody Two Shoes.

You can read more on the creative brief and see a sneak peak of our artists' work here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGV2t-6n_0/TRjQaoyEePlnCEtck8SeTw/edit?utm_content=DAGV2t-6n_0&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton

(Apologies for the little detail on scope and the entire lack of various other components. This is a redacted version.)

Now, I'm currently looking to consult with a lead programmer/designer on breaking down the possibilities and requirements for different game mechanics in the engine they are most familiar with. Both consultations and the roles themselves can be paid for separately, as sometimes people are very passionate to weigh in but not available to work on long-term projects.

If you couldn't tell already, this project was originally a screenplay that has been reimagined into a different medium due to receiving positive reception. It's entire first chapter has been voice-acted by an exceptional team with over twenty full-body sprites from a full-time comic artist; exterior and interior concepts halfway completed and predominately all art roles standing at the ready.

In other words, funds and assets are able to provided and there's a clear idea of what this game wants to be, but I'm a writer and producer - not a developer. What I need is mechanical direction to break down the requirements of programming this concept, the feasibility of different elements and minigames, and integrating art styles for the level (I've set everything up for pixel-art but I'd love to hear about how different 2D styles might be used instead due to the various artists we already have onboard).

In short, creative team seeks programming team.

Thank you for reading this all through. If interested, you can email BigKidzCH@gmail.com with a portfolio link and how you might be able to help out. You can also jot down any questions in the comments below.

Have a Great Weekend!

[FOR HIRE] Godot game developer with 10 years of experience looking for projects of any size

Hello! I'm Taylor Anderson.

I've been making games for 10 years, and I've been making Godot games for more than 3. If you're looking to bring on a developer for your project, I think I would be a great choice!

My prototype Bean's Pairing Panic.

I'm a fast prototyper through years of making game jam games, but I'm also skilled at keeping code readable, maintainable, and extensible through state machines, composition, and signals. I can also be a pixel artist in a pinch, like I was on Faraway Fairway: https://play.date/games/faraway-fairway/

Faraway Fairway. I did all the code and art for this project.

You can take a look at my professional experience here: https://taylor-anderson.work/

And all of my independent games are here: https://slimefriend.itch.io/

My rates are flexible depending on the project and the work required, so don't be afraid to reach out! My Discord DMs are open, my username is slimefriend. Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll consider me for your project!
