Hi! I'm a high school senior interested in studying nursing and as this is one of my options, I was interested in how the nursing program is, as well as GVSU as a whole compared to other universities in michigan. I love the school, but I heard it wasn’t very diverse and it was a bit of racism there.
Hey, we are in a marketing research class and trying to figure out what could make students use the Steelcase library more. If you could take it to see what we could improve, please do! It is fairly short. Especially if you havent been there before it would help
Any thought on world literature ENG 103 vs Intro to Human Rights PLS 105. I'm not a big reader and trying to figure out which one to take to fulfill my gen Ed .
I am a CS grad student at GV. Was wondering if I could get any direction on software engineering internships from here. Particularly, which are the tech companies that previously took in GV students?
Does this mean I have to apply for housing each semester? Or after each term? Also, if it's per semester, does that mean I will have to pay $13,450 for the single and $11,550 for the double or does the rate shown cover both semesters?
I'm considering going to MSU, but the thing is is that at MSU, I don't have the option to live on-campus for the spring semester (and the chances of me finding housing period are slim!). I'm just wondering if GSVU would probably have singles open (I have an accommodation where I can't have a roommate, suitemates are fine) in the spring.
Hello ppl im interested in going to gvsu bug im wondering how not free time will look is gv a somewhat party school, do you enjoy it.
After getting an estimate on what I would be eligible for on the FAFSA site itself and seeing that for a full term it would cost me 14,796, I am a bit more hopeful that I will will not have to pay anything out of pocket, especially since my SAI is so low that it means I would get the maximum amount of aid. Also, I graduated gop five percent in my class, but that probably doesn't mean much since my class was pretty small.
Hello, I'm thinking of getting into gvsu for business analytics. How are the jobs and placements there?
I am currently attending GRCC (I am only attending for 2 semesters) and want to go to GVSU after the winter semester, so I used the Net Price Calculator and I am a bit anxious about the price it gave me. As someone who aged out of the foster care system, I don't have parents to help me pay for the remaining Net cost. Does this calculator take into account that I would be a transfer student? Is the calculator accurate? I noticed it doesn't take into account things like Sub and unsub loans. I have provided a screenshot for reference. Also, I am wanting to become a lawyer and I have to attend a 4 year to get into law school, I also don't have the credit score or anyone to help me sign for a private loan.
Every school has its issues but how does grand valley stack up with ME? Pre class videos? Foreign professors you can’t understand? Impossible to pass classes? Spill your secrets.
Just random and curious but how much was rent at off campus places like 48 west, campus west, trio, etc back in like 2011-2013?
does anybody know what the clip they play pre game is from? the one where it looks like a podcast and he says “get ready to boogie” or something like that and then does a wolf howl
I’m a grad student that’s starting at GVSU in fall 2025. I have to move out of my apartment the first week of August near CMU, will GVSU let me move into my fall housing early? I’m from out of state so going home is not an option, plus I have too much stuff to take
Has anyone seen this? Smoking and vaping ban coming into effect April 2025.
Smoking is one thing, but vaping?

Hi, I was wondering where the best place is to talk about changing my classes for the next semester. I have changed a class before this semester started through Seidman, but the experience wasn’t good, so I’m hoping there are more options. I also wanted to do this in-person too.
Hello,
I am doing a podcast for my JBM 384 class. The podcast is titled "Mystic Explorer". The podcast will cover topics such as spirituality/witchcraft/the occult and try to tie a given topic in with current events.
I am making this post because I am looking for people who can help me create this podcast. The benefit for them would be the opportunity to create something for their portfolio that they could potentially show off to future employers.
I need someone who can create good thumbnails and a good banner for the YouTube channel the podcast will be posted on. I will also need people who are audio experts to give advice and help me use software to clean up audio mishaps that may occur while recording.
I would also invite any students who would be interested in being a guest on the podcast to DM me or reply to the OP if the theme of this show interests you.
Please let me know if you are interested and thank you for reading!
Hi there, I am a senior biology major at msu right now, but I think I want to transition to nursing so I can later become a PA. The reason I am doing this is due to my grades and how I think I might be a better canidate if I can also be nurse for a few years, and I was wondering about the expierence of the Advanced Nursing Program
I want to be a dentist, which means I have to go to dental school, would the honors college be good for me? Dental schools look at your college GPA so I don’t want to tank my GPA. I’ve taken around 5 AP classes in high school, in which I had an A is 4/5 of them. I’ve taken multiple honors classes in high school as well. I’ve been invited to the signature Saturday which I plan to go to in a few weeks!
Just was wondering I know for the holiday break between first and second semester they aren’t but this is my first time not going home for a break so I was wondering if they are open right now
Next year I plan to live in off campus apartments what places do you recommend or not recommend. What places have the best prices? What places have the best parties? Nicest people?
Hey all,
With the 2024 presidential election approaching, I wanted to share a project that’s aimed at raising awareness and encouraging more people to get out and vote. It’s called Presidential Pick'em, and it allows you to predict the outcome of the election by filling out your own electoral map.
It’s a fun way to get people thinking about the election while also contributing to some crowdsourced data. The goal is to compare predictions to actual results and hopefully spark more engagement in the election process, particularly since Michigan is a critical swing state this election and early voting has already begun.
Each prediction will be scored based on how accurate it was and the results will be displayed on a global leaderboard. You can also create and join pools to challenge friends, roommates, or other groups.
I've created a pool specifically for students and alumni from GVSU to join and compete against each other.
Think you can predict the election perfectly? Make your prediction, and don’t forget to get out and vote — your voice matters!
Hello everyone, I just visited the GVSU campus today and throught it was rather good. Im looking to transfer from a CC next fall to pursue a degree in CS. I'm just wondering, is there anything to do near the main campus of GVSU? Are there any CS majors here that can give me some insight as to what the classes are like? How does GVSU compare to other schools such as MSU or WMU etc.
