This subreddit is for finding professional artists who are available for hire at professional prices.

1.

Before posting, artists must be certified by the moderators that they are meeting the minimum pricing standards and quality standards of the subreddit. This includes both making posts and responding to clients. There is a stickied post that includes more instructions- artists must read the entire document prior to applying for certification.

2. Clients must follow the professional pricing standards set by the community This is a place for high quality artists and fair paid projects, do not seek artworks below the standard minimums set- $100 minimum base price, $30/hour USD.

3. Do not post looking for free artwork Please see r/characterdrawing , r/icandrawthat or r/beastdrawing if you wish to find an artist to draw your artwork for free.

4. Use Tags when making your post [Artist], [Client] or [Meta]. Add [NSFW] where appropriate. Artists offering your services, clients requesting services, or discussing topics related to the subreddit (sparingly). Offtopic posts are not permitted and will be removed at the discretion of the mods.

5. Do not post or promote work that is not your own If you feel another artist’s work deserves recognition, that’s great! But this is not the appropriate place to share their work, or otherwise promote non-certified artists.

6. One promotional post per week limit Feel free to reply to as many relevant threads as you wish, but please only make one post promoting your work per week.

7. New account spam If your account is under a day old, your post will get caught in the spam filter.

8. Do not post sexual/graphic content. Artistic nudity is allowed with the NSFW tag.

9. Do not try to circumvent the rules If someone attempts to circumvent the rules through private messaging, undercutting prices or other measures, please report it and contact a mod.

10. Don’t be a jerk. Be respectful to the members of the community. You can read the general reddiquette wiki here: https://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette

[Client] Wanted Cover illustration for Victorian Fantasy about Witches $1000+

Hello Fantasy Artists!

I’m seeking the very best cover illustrator I can find for my Victorian fantasy novel.

It takes place in an alternative version of London during the 1830s, in a world where the industrial revolution has come about by magic rather than coal. So, wizards are more like Nikola Tesla or Thomas Edison than Gandalf or Harry Potter.

The main characters are a fire witch, an actiony female mix of Sherlock Holmes and Nikola Telsa.
And
Her apprentice, a trans girl, who is a bit like Oliver Twist.

This is for commercial publication, and absolutely no AI is permitted.

Applicants Must:

  • Be a certified or fellowship artist of this reddit
  • Have a portfolio showing many commissions and commercial art pieces

(personal and fan art will also be considered, but I’m looking for someone who can put their heart into their clients’ stories)

Other things l’ll be looking for:

  • Strong Color Palettes, High Contrast, and Sharp Rendering
  • Complex Facial Expressions with emotive eyebrows
  • Aspirational female characters
  • A touch of RPG style
  • Experience making art that fits well with text
  • Art that reads well at thumbnail size

Things I don’t want:

  • Characters with their backs turned
  • Characters with blank expressions
  • Most anime styles
  • Overly sexualized women
  • Overly cute styles
  • Any form of expiring rights or other pricing games will not be considered

Let me know if you’re excited to work on the project. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
