I just listened to some rap songs and I’ve looked at other peoples reviews and they almost always put azucar at one and a lot of people say it’s top 1 OAT, why?

In the 2nd part of Solace after Earl's verse and a few more piano loops. We hear this awfully loud and high pitched sound and I have trouble on finding out what it is.

I HATE NEW EARL alr not all of it but idk i can’t get into new earl as much as i can get into old earl, i don’t like shit, his self titled and Doris are where his discography stops for me, the new song he dropped w el cousteau was cool ig not really if I’m being honest earl literally sounds like he’s just fuckin around 😭 and i understand that’s prob the vibe he was going for but shit wasn’t it or shi wasn’t for me at least, idek why I’m even writing this kinda jus wanna see if anyone agrees w me or not, still love earl no matter wha 🤷‍♀️

Sorry if this has already been debated, I'm new to this subreddit despite being a fan since Doris. That being said somebody just told me SRS is universally known as Earl's best album... no disrespect but that is absolute lunacy. Doris is a top 5 all time rap album in my eyes and SRS was a huge letdown to me following IDLSIDGO. What makes Some Rap Songs so great? I've listened to it more than once but only really listen to december 24 Ontheway and the mint regularly. The production is just so weird and jumbled.

Edit: it appears that the overall consensus is that the meaning behind SRS is what makes it better than Doris, namely:

-Not being limited by what the general public thinks music should sound like

-Earl getting deeper and more personal regarding the content of his songs

A lot of you have also said that the album needs time to grow on you before you get it and I will definitely give it another shot. But I still think Doris is criminally underrated here. Also, I think I’m just one of those people who are simple, and like when music sounds good in a smooth and easy to hear sense. Im not really a fan of the experimental stuff like tyler’s new album. I prefer old school hip hop so maybe that is playing a part in all this. I also dont really give a fuck about artists doing “what they want to do.” Perfect example is Eminem’s album Relapse. He absolutely hates that album and yet it has a massive cult following because it actually sounds good. Earl making the music he actually wants to doesnt make a difference to me really. His sound was much better back then when he was influenced by Odd Future compared to doing “what he wants” now. At least to me. Anyways thanks
