A safe space for Kings, Queens, and all those who share an interest in drag. While we're here to focus on the unique quirks and challenges of being a King, all are welcome!
The goal of this subreddit is to be an open and supporting community where performers and drag artists of ALL kinds can receive help, feedback, suggestions, and discuss all things drag and gender related.
Welcome to r/Dragkings! We're honored to have you!
The rules here are fairly simple.
For best results, if you believe a post, comment, or message violates the below tools - please message u/injaeia DIRECTLY. Modmail doesn't always reach its destination in a timely manner and don't even start on how terrible the chat function is. :(
Be kind! No homophobia (obviously), no transphobia, racism, sexism, or general hate speech about anyone or any particular group will be tolerated. Be respectful when giving suggestions, advice and feedback, but don't be afraid to be honest. Remember, we can all improve. Thoughtful feedback can help us all be better, but rude comments like "you suck" doesn't help anyone. This rule has a 3 strike policy, unless the severity of the comments or content is such that the mods deem it appropriate to issue an immediate ban.
Content Guidelines: We are all on this sub because we dig drag, therefore, anything drag related goes. Discussion of gender and queerness in general is absolutely acceptable as well: the crux of drag is gender, in any variety. Please avoid topics not drag related, such as debates, non-drag related news, cross-posts from other non-drag subs, etc. Discussion is heavily encouraged, so if you wander off topic a bit, don't worry, just don't go down the Yellow Brick Road too far.
Photo / Video content: Please feel free to share Youtube videos, photos of performers and anything drag related, but keep it relevant and use appropriate tags for anything NSFW. Anything posted that violates Reddit rules or general decency will be taken down or edited appropriately by mods. In addition, if it's not your performing, your video or your image, give credit where credit is due, preferably in your post title.
Encouragement and Support! Don't gatekeep. This sub is a place to not only support performers of all shapes, kinds, makes and styles, but to support our overall community. Please don't gatekeep: if something is not YOUR personal cup of tea, but you can see how it relates to queerness, drag, or gender - it's valid and it belongs here.
Above all else, ALL DRAG IS VALID.
Again, if you do stumble upon a comment or a post that appears to violate these rules - please message u/injaeia DIRECTLY as modmail doesn't always reach them promptly.

How do yall promote your shows? I’m a new Cleveland producer and want my first drag king show to be a success.
Hi! I’m a new king and was wondering if there’s a current place to “register” or check if a name’s been taken? I have one in mind I’d really like to use/claim. I know there was a spreadsheet but I can’t find it anymore…and it looks like there’s maybe a Facebook group but I don’t have Facebook. Any help is appreciated!
I'm looking for a good recommendation for silicon body suits. I would have already ordered one but due to my size I'm worried about fit. I'm about 5' 8" and 240 lbs. My budget is approximately $170. Picture for attention lol
Alright y’all, i am a baby king and this was my 3rd look i’ve done in drag so far, i love the was the open chest looked but if i ever perform (maybe one day because ahh anxiety) how do the big chested people bind? or make it look flat? i have been using trans tape but even the how tos just don’t work. it also feels like my skin is just getting stretched and it’s not very comfortable wearing it past 6 hours. and take big t tape after a couple of hours caused some rashes on my skin since it’s super sensitive. any advice is super appreciated!! thanks!
Hey I’m a straight guy that doesn’t gender bend or have any interest in homosexuality and being queer- my girlfriend however was a drag king in the past, is queer, and wants to get back into it. I support it as a creative outlet and commentary on society but I’m not attracted to her in drag and I requested that photos of us kissing aren’t put on Instagram and the like. She said she wishes it wasn’t a big deal for me to kiss and be public about it while she’s in drag (we fought about me being essentially homophobic in her eyes) but I struggle to not feel like an imposter. I’ve lived with multiple gay men for several years before meeting her so I don’t believe I’m homophobic. I’m starting to feel like I’m not a person she needs in her life as I’m only slowing down her creative and sexual expression. Can anyone share an experience or your thoughts about relationships with straight men? I love her and I just need honest feedback so we can live healthy lives either together or separately😢
hi!! i wanna start doing drag so i made an inspo board of some people im pulling from to make my aesthetic. the pic in the middle center and middle left are me.
i want my name to pay homage to black music, especially rap (tyler the creator, kanye, childish gambino) but i also want to sound a little classic
i’ve only had one idea and it’s wolfgang stone but i’m desperately looking for more ideas!!!
Hi all, as title says, I am looking for cool-toned 5 o'clock shadow brown. Preferably in a cream.
I have got a Milk sculpt stick, but it's not quite dark or cool enough for what I'm trying to go for.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated 💖
Hi I am a baby drag king (i started 6 months ago) and I did some performances for free in the past but someone asked to book me for the first time. I said yes but I have no idea what should be my minimum prices. I've heard some people saying 150€ is a fair price for a beginner but it seems like a lot to me. Not that I don't want it but I thought local queens/kings started from 50 at most. What were y'all first prices? And do you have any tips for the future?
What program are you using to make performance mixes? I’d like to start splicing songs and clips together but am lost on what the best program is and most of the venues around here require mp3 format
I don't perform as a drag king but I have the most fun at parties when I'm in drag (and people always say I'm hot lol). This party had an 'old folks home dance party' theme (a bit insensitive I know). Anyway, hot uncle alert. I'm really proud of the makeup this time.
Also I was drunk and told multiple people that I made the mustache by using mascara on my prexisting facial hair with a lot of pride in my voice like it was a flex to have it there. I am a closeted transmasc, the closet is glass.
Thought I would post my handles and a hi since I’m always lurking~ I’m Springfield, MO’s peepaw: King Kameleon! I’ve been performing drag for about a year now at my home bar. I’m so grateful to have found an art form that’s so inclusive and wildly fun!
Always rooting for my fellow Kings and wishing you well! ♥️
