A freshly minted subreddit for the recently revived Double J radio station. Taking over the digital space used by Dig Music, Double J will be run by Triple J, but will have more of "the music you remember" from "back when Triple J was good and didn't play all this rap/hip hop/dance/whatever kids listen to these days". Lets see how it goes!

Uncle Vic and the Crypto Kickers..
Hi friends, I'm trying to find the name/ artist of a song they played on triple J back in the 90s. I'm pretty sure it was played on Mikey and sandman's last show/ outside broadcast (which I taped on to a cassette š). It's been driving me crazy for years. I can't find it through Google search and I haven't heard the song in years. The lyrics are something like this: Tuck me in my waterbed, gently stroke and kiss my forehead. Make me feel good one more time, even if you have to lie..... even if you have to lie....

He has a whole substack and writes about music and such. Have just subcribed, will dive in to it over the weekend.
So much of the music I add to playlists comes from Tim's radio show. I miss his afternoon slot so I'm glad he's producing this. Also miss Liquid Lunch, while we're at it.
Have tuned out a bit more since the Dylan Lewis takeover and loss of Tim. Hopefully this will hit the same.
I'm QLD so this is an hour behind the rest of you. Listening live and old mate was talking about collaborating and pronounces it 'co-lab'. Made me wince every time he said it.
r/GrammarPolice out.
Having just listened for the first time in about a year, I'm still hearing the same self-promo I was hearing for a very long time before I stopped listening.
I stopped listening partly because it got tiring listening to the same promos over and over all day. JJJ, same, but they've at least changed some of them.
Can't be that hard or resource intensive, can it?

Hi, Iām Sanny Veloo, a rock musician from Melbourne, Australia. Iāve just released a new single called āA Brighter Tomorrowāāa powerful rally cry for unity, resilience, and hope in a world that needs it more than ever.
With catchy riffs, a powerful groove, fiery guitar solo, massive sing-along chorus, and soul-stirring lyrics on truth, peace, right action, nonviolence, and above allālove, this song reminds us of our power to create a brighter future together.
The song is out on all streaming platformsāgive it a listen and share your thoughts in the comments!
Whatās the best what to get your song onto DoubleJ as an independent Australian artist?
Double J uploaded a video of them discussing nothing but women's underwear. To which I commented "clutching at straws for content?", which has resulted in them blocking my account. Has this happened to anyone else? Seems pretty crazy to me
Funniest most chilled bloke ever, loving him!
My friends and I were at this Sleater-Kinney show and were all so excited when the recording was released! Iāve listened to it so many times and now itās expired. Will it ever return? Will it go on streaming? Iām so annoyed at myself for not recording it on my computer to keep it forever. I want to listen to it again š©
Reading stuff on the ABC News website this morning listening to DoubleJ online at the same time.
Just opened the article about the Divinyls - I Touch Myself... and what comes on the Radio...
It was good to hear Adam and Wil on Double J this morning. They haven't changed a bit, and it brought back memories of the early-2000s.
More listener call back on AM/Afternoon slots
Stacey presenting after Tim left afternoons
Dylan Lewis hosting mornings
Hau changed from Friday to Sunday(?)
Are there any other changes that you've noticed?
I go through phases with the radio. It's been on all day every day for a while but at the moment I most enjoy Caz Tran in the afternoon and Take 5/Desko. Also miss Liquid Lunch. Don't listen to Artist in Residence *all* the time but it is a nice Sunday afternoon listen every now and then.
So I find myself listening a bit less and less. I'm a bit stubborn lol but Tim did have a good afternoon show and it was sad to see him go.
I do find myself sometimes yelling "shut the fuck up" at Dylan Lewis which is probably the biggest difference, overall.
Yewwwwww! Cannot wait for this!
Might be a silly question, but does anyone know if JJ will ever bring in news bulletins?
I am still clinging to JJJ as I do enjoy a majority of the music and love getting snappy news updates.. but I am more frequently jumping stations when thereās music or talkback happening that Iām not into.
I understand there would be a cost element with employing a journalist etc, but surely they could work out a way to automatically simulcast the on the hour bulletin from jjj ..?
Thank you Thank you Thank you
Almost forgot until I turned on the radio to hear J and the Doctor... sounding like they doing a favour for a mate and reminding me of when I was Triple Js target audience.
Jay to the Doctor, talking about The Gossip: "Shh.... don't say Richard Kingsmill"
Post and chat as we listen along to our favourite Australian radio station Double J

That is all.
Friday mornings are my least favourite listening time of the week. Put Dylan Lewis on all five days.
If I hear that "Fa(r)shion fa(r)shion fa(r)shion" thing one more time, I am going to put a hammer through my radio.
I really liked the ABC better when it didn't do constant self-promotion all day long.
Is it me or are the announcers on double j perpetually off sick/absent? I feel like Karen Leng is off like once a fortnight
I thought it was alright. Definitely a lot of voters saw the bands they liked and voted all of their songs whether they were good or not, or they saw covers of songs they knew and voted for those. Very 2018 onwards heavy.
Top 10 was pretty safe, but well deserved.
2 of my votes made it at #7 and #2. The others were:
Such Great Heights - Ben Folds Good Luck - Waxx Ray of Light - Pond Go - Jebediah Dare - Hiatus Kiayote Anarchy in the UK - Genesis Owusu Settle Down - City and Colour Love Shack - DZ Deathrays
What votes didnāt make it for you?
