Hello r/DnD_Victoria !
I am a medium-experience player (casually since ~2010) and coach for a triathlon team.
We are called the Tri Nerds, and there is a great deal of interest from athletes to learn to play and participate in a campaign. I am thinking more than a one-shot, maybe even just someone to lead us all through the Adventures in Forgotten Realms sessions to "whet the appetite" of these athletes.
I will be helping everyone generate characters, using 2024 ruleset (RAW) to make things simple. If you are interested or know of anyone, please reach out and we'd love to chat! If all goes well, in the New Year this could grow into something more regular, but I just want to give everyone a taste to let them see what it's all about :)
Regards,
Nick
I found someone local who is creating his own accessories for Magic the Gathering but thought his Life Counters could also be useful for DnD! Can be found on either Facebook or Instagram: Crafty by Design 3D Printing
Are there any GMs in Victoria interested to run a higher level adventure in person? An example is Fist of the Ruby Phoenix (11-20), or maybe Shadows at Sundown (11-13) followed by Pray for Death (14-17). You get the idea.
The players will pay for any of the materials needed and can host a space. Time is approximately February 2025, we're planning ahead here. A digital tabletop map system is already set up.
Hoping to be able to transition a group from current campaign into a new one.
Cheers.
Hey I’m 33 year old guy, blue collar type and I’ve always wanted to play dnd.
I have been reading the 2024 DM guide and new handbook. I’ve been planning a campaign for some buddies but it’s like hearding cats. After reading tons about dnd and becoming a DM, I’m really into it but it comes down to actually meeting up and playing. I think before I try Dming, playing a campaign as a PC would be a good experience.
If anyone is interested in getting a group together I’d love find some people to hang out and roll some dice with.
Comment or send a message to me if you’re in the same boat. I’m available most evenings and if it’s once a week or once a month I’m easy. If you have room in your campaign or want to start a new one I’d love to play.
It’s time to Ragnarok and Roll! Four new episodes of Actual Play Entertainment (4 Victorians) playing When the Wolf Comes have just dropped wherever you listen to podcasts.
Hey all! I've just moved back to Victoria and I'm looking to start playing DnD again. I'm a 31 year old man, I'm still relatively new but have a good grasp of the rules and build of 5e. I had made and played a level 5 dragon born barbarian in the past.
I work shift work so I'm available for 2 weeks of the month at a time. Would really love to find a group to roll dice with!
One of my old groups is looking to relive its 3.5 glory days on Thursday nights. We're now spread out all over town so a central meeting place would be helpful. Gauntlet is booked on Thursdays and a member of the group has an issue with Interactivity. As students, we used to claim the grad student rooms in Clearihue at UVic all the time, but that would be harder to justify now that we've all long-since graduated 🙃.
Any spots in or near downtown open to middle-aged nerds covering their tables with battle maps and pretending to be elves for a few hours? Multipurpose/meeting rooms with reasonable rental rates? RPG-friendly pubs where we could eat and game? What am I not thinking of? Thank you! 🙏
Hiya gang,
My name's Addy (They/Them) and I'm putting out feelers of sorts for a one shot this Monday @Quadra community centre from around 6:15-10pm. 3rd level RP heavy treasure hunt set in an oceanside town which can be beat entirely without combat with smart thinking and string role play.
Adventure Synopsis: In the town of Verden a large music & arts festival is being held. Merchant stalls, games and beer tents are set up all around the town center, where the Lord Wolves Estate of the Arts; inside of which a competition for free tuition to the college is being held. But while spirits are high and raucous, something lurks beneath the surface of this prestigious festival. Will you be there to save the day, or seize opportunity at the earliest convenience...
I've run this adventure multiple times before, and have published it to the DMsGuild (which is available as a PWYW product, for those not interested in playing the module) for about 6 different groups, so if you're down for an awesome adventure with cool people feel free to make a character and show up for fun tunes and a rocking good time. Table will be capped @ 6 players so message me on reddit to reserve a seat.
Hey Gang, I posted about a week ago in search of a group and I found most of one! We’re looking for one more player and someone to dm. We don’t intend on playing dnd forever so the dm will rotate once our adventure is complete! If you’re interested in playing or dming this first adventure please hit me up!
We’re in the Victoria proper area!
Thanks!
Cedar she/they
Hey! I'm looking to start a new DnD campaign in Duncan BC and need 2 more players. Ive been DMing for over a decade and am very new player friendly. If you know anyone who'd love to play in the Cowichan Valley send them my way! Cheers!
Hi!
My partner and I are moved to Victoria in October. We’re both ttrpg veterans. We play a lot of dnd, Pathfinder, vtm and indie games (Spire, Monster of the Week, Lancer). We’re both 27, queer and looking to make friends!
If anyone has any leads on game shops that host dnd, anyone looking to start a new game, or a group needing new players feel free to drop me a dm!
Thanks, Cedar + Mitch
Looking for a group in the more Sidney area. I'm off work Tuesday through Thursday so I'm available any time on those days. Had to leave my last group sadly because I moved and really want to get back to playing.

Dungeons, Dragons and Aliens? Oh My!
One of the most famous 1e modules, the Expedition to the Barrier Peaks was the first fantasy/sci-fi crossover adventure and saw the origin of the froghemoth, a monster of truly Lovecraftian description. PureRAWdnd is proud to offer the 5e conversion of this epic adventure during our Saturday morning campaign.

Hello, just moved back to victoria and I have a few commander decks that I'd like to dust off. Any groups here that are taking on new players? Or any that would be interested in doing a commander session?
BEGINNERS MOST WELCOME!
There has never been a better time for beginners to join one of our weekly 5e D&D campaigns, as we all learn the new 2024 rule revisions together.
We are currently transitioning to the new 2024 5e rules, but run blended rule campaigns where each player chooses to either run a character using the 2024 rules (new versions replace old, with old options still used where no new version exists), or can play a character that exclusively uses the 2014 rules, if that's their preference.
PureRAWdnd has several expanded time slots for our professionally run campaigns at the Griffons Den. We offer two categories of campaigns:
ADULT D&D
The Griffons Den is a private facility for club members only. We have a mini-fridge, microwave and kettle, and players are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, including alcohol and snacks. Our adult games tend to skew older, with several "old-timers" who played previous editions, but also many newer players and absolute beginners.
Current Adult Campaigns with Open Seats:
FAMILY D&D
Our family campaigns require at least one adult and one child/youth from each family, creating a fresh and exciting way for parents to engage with their kids together in a fun environment.
Current Family Campaigns with Open Seats:
To join one of our professional campaigns requires a monthly membership to the Griffons Den, similar to a gym or yoga membership.

Looking for a player or two to join myself (the DM) and three others for a brand new 5e campaign that will be weekly on Monday nights at my place in Chinatown.
I'm older but the players are all mid- to late-20s so someone in that range would probably be best. LBGTQ+ friendly.
We're not sure what "big" campaign we'll be playing but we are going to start with the short adventure "The Sunless Citadel" just to feel each other out and get the newer players into 5e. It also gives us a chance to wait and see if we want to use 2024 rules/characters for the longer campaign.
We can easily go with just one more, but if there are two more that could work.
Post below or DM me if you're interested, please tell us a little about yourself as well.
Hello hello!
We are a group continuing our Dragon Lance campaign! We are running the original AD&D Dragons of Autumn Twilight campaign converted for 5e.
We have one returning player, and three new, adult ages, all are welcome!
We play the third saturday of each month, we are looking to add some female energy to balance out our party!
I am an experienced DM, we have a blast!! Lot's of laughs, friendly people, good times had by all. It's a balanced RP / Exploration / Combat adventure with beautiful story writting by Tracy Hickman & and Margaret Weis.
It was beautifully written by actual novelists with the intent of becoming both a novel and a playable campaign. There are three novels, each with it's own story arc, represented by three seasons. Currently in the first book, Dragons of Autumn Twighlight, the group is about half way. It took us ten or eleven sessions to get there or about a year.
It's D&D shenanigans with Middle-earthy vibes and beautiful prose.
We have audio of some of the first sessions in our discord if you'd like to get a sense for what our games our like.
Let me know if you are interested!
You can check out our discord, link is good for seven days:
Hi! My name is Vedin, I'm a genderqueer, south asian university student here in Victoria on a 4 month co-op work term until December. Also, I'm a big Dimension 20 fan (which might give you a good idea of my tastes lol). I'm looking to DM a 5e campaign while I'm here. The campaign would take place in the same world as a campaign I ran last summer. My players then were equally split between high fantasy and cyberpunk, so I did both! I created a giant city called Metris where magic was so advanced that it functioned like tech. It was a really fun time and unfortunately I didn't get to finish that campaign. So, I would love to run another one in the same world (doesn't have to be in the same city). The vibe of the campaign was generally very sandboxy, although I did have a planned plotline that incorporated every character's backstory. I'd be super down to run another one like that or another one that's more structured where the plot is more explicit. As for the storyline, I have a couple ideas but would love to see if players have some of their own before finalizing a campaign.
As a disclaimer, I'm not a fan of bigotry in fantasy (unless if it has a narrative purpose) and would also go over anything people may be uncomfortable with in a session 0. As for scheduling, I'm hoping to run sessions either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursdays but that's still flexible at this point.
Please message me if you're interested!
Hey! We’re a group of 3 (25M, 27F, 25M) and are looking for a DM and potentially 1 other PC. Two of us are new to the format and the other has played as both a PC and DM before (but would prefer to be a PC). We’ve put together a rough idea of availability:
Saturday: any time after 12pm Sunday: any time before 6pm Mon-Fri: After work (5pm-9pm depending on location etc) minus Tuesdays
We’re looking for a fun time with a good balance of serious and silly, so if you’re a DM (or want to try DMing!) send me a PM for more info 🙂
My partner and I are visiting Victoria next week looking to play some d&d.
Howdy all!
I am a DM looking to start up one or two new campaigns, likely in-person downtown at my place (Chinatown) but perhaps via Discord/Roll20 if that's how it has to be.
The options at the moment are D&D 5e, the Alien RPG, and Call of Cthulhu, all of which are awesome. In all three cases we'd start with short adventures just to get together and see if we're compatible, then decide on something longer.
Times: probably weekly, but could be every second week, on Sunday, Monday or Wednesday nights.
I am older (just turned 50) but am used to playing with pretty much anyone mid-20s and up. CIS white guy, but absolutely LGBTQ+ friendly.
Post below or DM me with something about yourself, your experience with TTRPGs (none is OK!), the games you're interested in, and your availability (e.g. days of the week and frequency).
note: if we talked a while ago about a game I was setting up for new players but you didn't get in, and you're interested here as well just let me know! It's been a while so I didn't want to assume people were still available.
Hi, my name is Emil, I'm 20 years old guy, looking to play some D&D. I used to play Pathfinder a lot, so I am familiar with the rules. I am a full time programmer, but I am able to attend 8-10 hour sessions on the weekends. I like playing guitar, motorcycle ride-outs, dancing tango and do any kind of sport. Hope to have some fun and create new friends. Thank you.
Hey folks. I'm 45m, been playing RPGs for about 30 years. I've run a few long term campaigns, and very comfortable with a variety of play styles and systems.
I'm very easygoing and flexible, with a strong preference for co-operative play where everyone gets a turn to shine. I'm open minded and progressive, and can get along with a wide variety of folks.
I"ve got commitments on Weds, Thurs and Sat evenings (most of the time), but any other day could work.
