Does anyone know if the upcoming shows will be J playing solo…or will he have a backing band?
Hey everyone!!! I made a TikTok Video/Reel highlighting the Voyage To The Blue Planet Show in Portland Oregon. I had a blast and really enjoyed this concert. Sorry for posting this a bit late. My life has been very busy😂. Hope you all enjoy💙
I would have taken a better photo if only I wasn't 1.50 tall. The concert was so incredible that I didn't take any photos.
I'm going alone and would love to get to know some other fans :) Btw, looking for a bass player to play with me and my drummer friend

Picking up the guitar again. What songs would be best to learn as a beginner? Sadly no capo currently so feel the pain is off the table
One ticket for sale at the Bellwether in LA on 12/5. I can’t make the 12/5 show anymore so just selling for what I paid $60.
what pedals/amp settings could i use to get the guitar tone for tarpit (specifically 3 minutes in where the feedback/fuzz comes in)?
Probably the closest J ever got to a Lou-less Dino with Lou song (complete with screaming) and supposedly a response to him and Sebadoh's "The Freed Pig" (any confirmation on this?)

I know that they don't really get along, but the fact that they can't bear each other even on social media is kind of...sad?
Every single song/album or anything they put out always has amazing art,the style and colors are just amazing
just got this green mind tat
I'm in my mid-30s and I've got some tinnitus from my bad headphone habits back in the day, so I've been more careful about my hearing. Next week I’m going to my first Dinosaur Jr show, and I’ve heard all kinds of stories about how loud they are, but honestly, I’m not sure if it’s really that damaging or if it’s just part of the band’s mythos.
For those who’ve been to their shows (especially the more recent ones since the reunion): is it really loud enough to hurt your ears or even be uncomfortable? Should I definitely wear earplugs? Any specific models you’d recommend?
Also, what’s the best spot to stand sound-wise, especially in a smaller venue?
EDIT:
I started this thread just to cover my bases, thinking I wouldn’t need it, but I’m leaving knowing you all probably saved my hearing (and honestly a little freaked out). Thanks, everyone! I’m gonna grab some earplugs so I can enjoy the show without stressing.
But coming up with ideas have been kinda hard.
So far, im leaning on the idea of having the word DINOSAUR JR. Written down my forearm with three dinosaurs following along the outline.
My questions are.
Does that seen like a rad design and
What dinosaurs should represent jay, lou and Murph
This song has Lou singing a reimagining (for want of a better word) of Brand New Love at the end
So J talks slow, I’m sure we all know this. Im sure we also know if you turn the play back speed of any of his interviews to 1.25x speed it sounds like he talks normal but that’s not what I find funny. I hat I find funny is that if you turn his guitar playing up, it sounds like something from a green day song. Kinda like how if you double speed early smashing pumpkins it sounds like Motley Crue.
I've been thinking about this a lot, and man, I'd love to see them do these songs in this order it would be amazing
Mountain Man
Feel The Pain
Almost Ready
Lose
Tarpit
Said The People
Creepies
I think that would be an incredible show! Whats your dream set list? What was the best Dino show you've been to?
I recently came upon the 3.5" "interactive" Floppy Disc for the "Without A Sound" release from 30 years ago. There has been a video of this on YouTube for some time, but it doesn't have any of the actual sound effects from the disc, or the grainy/scratchy mid-90s low quality musical loops. I have remedied that. Here is a video of the entire contents of that disc, original sound and all: https://vimeo.com/1023470271?share=copy#t=0
And, for those of you old-school Mac users (up through OS 9) that would like to have this piece of nostalgia without paying the exorbitant prices on eBay, I've posted the full disc image for download over at Macintosh Repository: https://www.macintoshrepository.org/75251-dinosaur-jr-without-a-sound-interactive-disc
Turn on a black light, draw on your walls with highlighters, and enjoy that which you didn't know you needed.
