Anyone else in that area and been hearing them the past couple nights? It's annoying as hell
I live in Daytona & just wanted to hear other people’s ideas
I know Reddit seems to hate Daytona Beach for the crime and such. But I want to know how it feels to live in the newer neighborhoods around LPGA.
Wanting to get back into Crossfit after being out of training for about a year due to life.
Looking for a place with a good vibe that welcomes people at all levels. Part of the reason I stopped going to my old gym was after a management change things started getting cliquey and the workouts became focused solely for the folks at the highest levels.
Asking for help.
Is the difference in name just a legal thing but they're basically one in the same? Or are these like two very different areas for some reason?
Thanks for any insight
Hi all,
I’m planning to visit Daytona Beach soon, and do a vlog walking tour of as much of the area as possible. I’ve heard the places to generally avoid are Holly Hill, Shores, Beville, and Seabreeze, although if there are any more please let me know.
There are several things I’m wondering:
If I were to visit any of the supposed no go areas, are there any areas that are safe during the day? Is there any place where just being there at all as a lone woman would put my life at risk? What type of crime predominates in each area?
I don’t hold a firearm license so the most I could arm myself with is pepper spray and an assault alarm. Obviously I don’t plan on getting myself into a situation that necessitates using them, but in the interests of providing a realistic depiction I’d still like to see if I could visit the places if I’ll repute. Maybe this is a wildly unrealistic expectation though.
Thanks in advance.
ETA: Thanks for the info. No idea why asking legitimate questions and simply reporting what I’ve read in other Reddit threads is considered a faux pas by so many, but this is the internet, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Is anyone renting a room near DSC?
Best times and areas to do it in this area?? Thanks!
My old chill buddy turned homeless and lives a few towns over now. We used to once or twice a week chill at central park and just hang out, relax, and discuss general stuff.
Anyone bored and lives close want to chill over there every now and then?...
Hello, everyone.
It’s with a heavy heart that I share some sad news with you all. The creator of our subreddit, who had a deep love for Daytona Beach, has recently passed away. Although most of us didn’t know her personally, her passion for Daytona led her to create this space, which has since brought so many of us together.
Through her vision, she built a community where we could connect, share, and celebrate everything that makes Daytona unique. Let’s honor her legacy by continuing to make this a welcoming and vibrant place for all who love Daytona.
If you’d like, please feel free to share any thoughts or experiences you've had here in the community as we remember her and the space she created for us all.
Rest in peace /u/se7yourselffree
I have no insurance and tight on money. From my research, America's Best seems to be the winner. Any local places I'm unaware of that include an eye exam?
Hey there! I moved to DeLand and in with my sister a few months ago and I'm looking for a place to rent closer to my job near Daytona State College.
I'm 26f, I love to cook (vegetarian), I am a student and work two jobs, averaging or in excess of 40hrs/week, and I'm pretty tidy! Ideally I'd find some other ladies to live with but definitely wouldn't mind a coed space. I've got no pets, no annoying boyfriend that will take up space on your couch, and there are no wild parties in my future. I do smoke cigarettes and marijuana, but of course never inside. My budget is around $500 monthly with some flexibility. I also love to read, I love funky music (but don't worry, I've got headphones), video games, and art! If anyone is looking to rent out a room in the area, or knows someone else that is, please DM me!
So I’ve been tasked with finding a fun location for our work holiday party. Last year we did a wine bar in Deland which was fun. So I’m looking for a similar vibe. Preferably where we have our own space to get up and mingle so we’re not stuck sitting at a table the entire time. We want to do a white elephant gift exchange too so we’ll need space for that. It’s only like 25-35 people so we don’t need a huge space. Anyone have any ideas? Google isn’t helping lol.
I've called around and everyone seems to be all filled up. Looking for a place to stay with a 32' pull along camper until April. Definitely not the best timing with snowbirds in town, hoping someone here will have a lead. Affordable, doesn't need a pretty view.
My husband saw a huge number of police cars/motorcycles racing south of Speedway, lights and sirens.
ETA ambulance and fire now, too.
If your were in Daytona Beach for one day for work and probably are never coming back would you check out the boardwalk and the beach ?
Wether or not you will be voting for Kamala Harris or Donald trump I would strongly encourage doing some research before you vote on this. Randy dye is outspending the current chair by hundreds of thousands of more dollars by developers and he says he will not be influenced by that which I doubt. The current chair by what I see has kept his word and I agree with his stance on stopping the over development. I don’t really pay to much attention to politics however this has caught my eye as it’s pretty clear that Randy dye is literally trying to buy his way into a government seat by developers, I also saw that he ended up on a voter guide for republicans which is very strange. Whether or not you agree with me is up to you but all I am saying is to do some research and spread the word.
In the area this week visiting from out of state. I’m looking for some family friendly Halloween options, maybe a trunk or treat or just a neighborhood well known for trick or treating. I have a 5 year old and 7 year old I’d like to take out.
What happening with the int speedway now? There are so many police there.
Our family trip is tomorrow thru next Monday. We're staying in Ormond Beach and I see that a rip current warning has been ongoing for almost a month. Does that usually remain in place for long? And even if it's in place is it still safe to wade waist deep or so?
So I have to admit. I love it up here. So much to do. The beach is great. Cool people everywhere I go.
You guys have got it good!!
Just wanted to see recommendations of places to go, or to avoid,
Coming down from the Midwest and wanted to know the in and outs of the area. Mom, Dad and a 10 year old.
