A subreddit where your kustom with BoW can actually reach top post

A place for enthusiasts and hobbyists alike to discuss and post pictures of their custom mechanical keyboards

Rules:

  1. No Plastic - Expensive plastic (polycarb customs, Korean plastic customs) are acceptable, as is OG plastic, but plastic kits from Taobao/Aliexpress/Amazon/etc. are not.

  2. No OEM - No mass produced keyboards. If you bought your keyboard in a store and changed the switches or caps, it's still OEM, please refrain from posting it.

  3. C(K)ustoms Only - If you handmade a custom cork board, that’s still a custom, as is a GB or preorder custom kit – a Realforce or Filco with a new case is not. Please respect the "No Plastic" rule, plastic customs will be subject to moderation. Vintage/OG plastic will be permitted throughout OG summer. Refer also to rule 1.

  4. No /r/MechanicalKeyboards Memes - You're better than that, kustom/custom memes are acceptable.

  5. Post Kbdfans/KPRepublic with caution - Although not expressly banned, we are not fond of KBDfans and KPRepublic. Although this may seem elitist and snobby, that's what subreddits are for, and there are many other subreddits that happily accept these boards.

  6. No Help Posts - Since this subreddit is a showcase of keyboards, we ask that help posts be made over at /r/MechanicalKeyboards where there will be plenty more people to assist with your questions.

  7. No direct IC/GBs - This is not the subreddit for direct ICs (Interest Checks) or GBs (Group Buys). If you are working on a project and want to share it with the community, that's fine, and you can include some info about the project in the comments.

  8. No Promotional Advertisements - Since this subreddit is a showcase of keyboards, we ask that advertising be done on /r/MechanicalKeyboards or /r/MechMarket.

  9. NO LOW EFFORT POSTS - Posting a picture without any context will not be allowed. Please provide a description of your build (Whether in the title or the comments). This will help new members and shows that you actually put in effort instead of just posting a picture and forgetting about it. If it is found that your post does not include any sort of description it will be removed, no exceptions.

  10. NEW RULE: No Unbuilt Keyboards - We understand your excitement to show off your new keyboard, but unbuilt kits aren't customized yet! This includes one-offs and prototypes - if you choose to post the bottom of your keyboard or picture of an unbuilt kit, you must post an album that shows a built keyboard or an album of your build log, or include the link to the album it in the comments. If you're posting more than one keyboard, and one of them is unbuilt, please make sure there is at least one built custom keyboard and have it detailed. If the non-custom keyboard does not follow another rule, it will be removed at the discretion of the mod team.

  11. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE AN IMAGE SUBMISSIONS OR LINK TO AN IMAGE ALBUM - No vids, no gifs, no links.

The first ever custom keyboard was the Ddogyu Saver from Korea, no one knows where it came from and who the exact creator is. But it was a benchmark for the community being the first winkeyless style custom in an aluminium chassis.

Taking place shortly after was the creation of the 356 series by the OTD Korean Forum, a series of fully "communidevelopedty-" Cherry MX keyboards. They have now become quite notorious due to the gargantuan pricing they fetch in the aftermarket. But due to their attention to detail, design, and consideration for the best feeling when typed on, they're very highly sought after.
