I just saw this article about the "Rau Quaggas" that have many of the features of the now-extinct Quagga (excepting the reddish cast to their features). These were recreated via breeding, and not via cloning. It was a 40-year project.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of any video that acts like a nature documentary about Sasquatch as if it were a real and documented species.
I'm currently writing an essay about the cryptids of Appalachia and chose the not deer and wampus cat. Are there any articles or writings about people going out and taking photos, recording footprints, or anything of that matter?
People assume the death worm is a insect, but that's not possible with the size description of the worm. If it is real, maybe it's a form of amphibian snake that is close to a frog?
Based on the cryptid of the same name.
So a little while back earlier this year I had a bit of a weird experience and was wondering if anyone on here could shed some light on it. Early in October schools went on fall break where I live (Reno, NV) and in an attempt to beat the heat I decided to take a two day trip up into the El Dorado National Forest in the nearby Seirra mountains. On the day, the encounter happened I was hiking around in the late afternoon (around 4 PM - 6 PM), so it had cooled off some but it was still plenty light. I realized that at some point during the hike I had mistakenly wandered from the hiking trail onto an animal trail or path through the brush. As I was walking back, the first thing I noticed was the smell. Being from Reno, I’ve been around my share of livestock, and it was the unmistakable smell of an animal. I took out my AirPods, confused by the smell and for the first time heard the snorting. I froze, trying to determine what I was hearing and from where. There was a sort of bluff or rock outcropping I’d guess about 15-20 feet tall and filled with brush where the sound was coming from. As I stood and watched I saw a single leg emerge from behind the rocks to paw the ground. At first I thought it was a horse because of the color (deep brown) and the length and thickness of the leg. I thought at first it was a wild horse (I’ve seen those before), until I realized the hoof was wrong. It wasn’t the normal curved hoof of a horse but a split fronted hoof like that of a deer. As I tried to figure out what the hell I was looking at it, pulled its leg back and I heard it leaving through the brush on the other side of the bluff. I waited a minute (not wanting to get charged or stomped) before heading down and rounding the bluff but by the time I got there it was gone.
Based on the size of the leg and the hoof the only thing I can think of that it may have been was a moose, but I’ve never heard of a moose going that far south, especially on the west coast, and especially when it is so unseasonably hot. Does anyone have any idea what I may have seen? Is there an existing cryptid that I just am not aware of? Or did I actually see a moose in California?
We have had a lot of comments and arguments on extinct animals like thylacines and moas. Even ignoring that Bernard Heuvelmans writes heavily about extinct animals in his book on cryptozoology, separating the two would be extremely difficult considering how embedded they are in cryptozoology. If extinct animals aren't cryptids, then that would basically disqualify:
There are quite a number of famous cryptozoology researchers/personalities who made the field more well-known around the world and in recent times.
For me, the man himself...Josh Gates, who introduced me to the World of Cryptozoology and Mystery. His TV Show, Destination Truth got me hooked up in their episodes and from that then on...I became a fan.
The next one had to be the guys from Monster Quest, The Narrator and also the various teams from the show who were sent to different parts of the world to investigate suspected cryptids.
Then there is Paul Mungo from Expedition Mungo.
Pat Spain from National Geographic's Beast Hunter.
Both of their investigations on cryptids intriguing and mysterious.
Then finally, Forrest Galante, I think he is leaning more into the world of Cryptids in recent time. His Extinct or Alive TV Show has also piqued my interest and the cool discoveries in each episode of the show.
His guest appearances in Joe Rogan and Wild times Podcast is also interesting as he now often discusses more theories regarding a cryptid's existence.
In my opinion, the topic that gets overlooked is drawings that eyewitnesses make when they are asked to draw what they saw. They help us to get how the creature really looked in person's memory, may help to identify it and in addition make stories more vivid, informative and interesting. Do you have some favourites among them, most important and interesting ones in your opinion?
Would certainly add credibility to the theory they drum up sightings whenever tourism dips low.
Everyone is going around referring to this sticker in Michigan as a werewolf. I just realized what this kid was going for: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Dogman
