Introduction

Welcome to r/CryptoRecruiting. Similar to r/Needamod, this subreddit is to be used for recruiting mods and/or wiki editors for crypto related subreddits.

Current affiliated subs are: r/CryptoCurrencies, r/EthTrader, r/CryptoTrade, r/Peercoin, r/LTCmarket, r/Best_of_Crypto, r/CryptoCurrencyWiki, r/CryptoMods, r/CryptoTechnology, and r/CryptoRecruiting.

Applying

To make an application, click on the Submit Application button at the top of the sidebar to create a post. Please bare in mind that it might be weeks or months before your application receives a response, if ever.

Basic Requirements

  • Make sure to specify in the title of your post, which sub you wish to apply for. Doing so will enable the AutoMod to flair your post accordingly so it can be found later.

  • If you do not have at least 1000 comment karma and 6 months account age, your application might not be reviewed depending on what subreddit you are applying for. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis for applicants who have other established accounts inside or outside Reddit However, this will be contingent upon the needs and policies of each subreddit.

  • Application Guidelines.

Recruiting Specifications Per Sub

  • r/CryptoTechnology - A Subreddit for Serious & Technical Discussion of CryptoCurrency Technology & its Adoption. We need moderators that can filter out and remove low-effort posts such as Memes, Price Posts, Recommendations/Shilling/Predictions, and so forth. Subreddit should be for serious cryptocurrency discussions only, and we need to remain strict in order to keep the subscribers there happy with the content. People with mod experience preferred, we don't need CSS help currently.

  • r/EthTrader - Currently closed for recruiting. You may submit applications for the record if you wish.

  • r/Best_of_Crypto -

  • r/CryptoRecruiting - No positions open.

r/CryptoCurrencies- We need 2-3 mods to start with us on a trial basis who can keep up with our modmail and modqueue. Other skills and specialties are welcome too. We're looking for redditors who are passionate about cryptos and active on reddit to participate in the moderation role.

Privacy Protection Methods

If you need confidentiality, below are a list of methods you can use to suit your needs.

  • Type [AutoMod] filter as a top-level comment in the comment section of your post or in response to a comment of yours. Conversely, if you want to approve your post or comment, type [AutoMod] approve. These commands will allow you to selectively choose which information of yours you want to be made public or private. Only the r/CryptoRecruiting mod team will be able to see filtered content.

  • If you only want to isolate resume information to specific mods, create your own private subreddit to store it and add these mods to your approved submitter list. Don't send invites until you receive a response from the mod team you're applying to. There's no need to spam any mod teams.

  • Rather than authoring your application with your usual account, you can create a new account to mask your identity. Just make sure to vouch for your new account with your old account in a filtered comment or in some other hidden manner.

Assignments

Your application may never receive a response or even get reviewed. If you want to stand out from your competition and maybe even dazzle the mod team you want to join, you can work on some bonus assignments to help prove your commitment and knowledge about moderating. These assignments can range from reworking a rules list to overhauling an AutoModerator config. Feel free to create your own independent assignment to work on if you wish.

Application for r/cryptocurrency moderator

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

My account is ~2 month old and I have ~2,600 karma.

2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I am a seasoned python developer with background in data science. Also, helped develop bots for CointestAdmin. Basically, you can look over my code base to determine my coding skills. Can do much more than writing your one file reddit bot. I also have background in Natural Language Processing, so it could be useful for analyzing comments and posts.

3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

Except a few test subreddits for bot testing, No.

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

I am mostly invested in BTC and ETH. I have taken over a few freelance projects for Dapps in Tezos (smartpy) ecosystem but currently don't own any XTZ. I like how XTZ has smart contracts that are easy to code and deploy. As a dev I would prefer to code in smartpy any day, but as an investor, I believe big boys are gonna have my money.

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

GMT+8.

I intend to spend between 8 hours per week if there is a bot development or maintenance task. I can basically help you upgrade your moderation bots to whatever easy to use interface you would like. For the moderation task, I spend over 1 hours per day on reddit, so would take up that task in the meantime as well. But seriously, if got some good bots running and watching over the posts and comments, you would probably not need so many active hours online, would you?

6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

Automation is great, but without NLP automation in social media is just emotionless. My vision is to create a fair and truly decentralized platform for everyone. A platform where everyone has a say, and everyone gets moderated fairly. No Rules escaping because one mod happen to catch a violation while he missed another. Human errors gives bad rep to mod team. A code base for NLP based bot to moderate and remove the larger portion of moderation burden from the mod team.

Other part of my vision is to create an environment where moon tipping is encouraged. Holding is great but using moons for tipping will make the moons more valuable. How to achieve it? Well by assigning users tipping flairs for donations, like a donation ranking.

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

Not sure if I know many people on reddit, but I believe that some of the people in mod team already know me as Samuel.

8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

OfficialNewMoonville Application to be Moderator

#1. What is your account age and karma?

My account age is nine months and I have a total of 46,759 karma, almost all of which is from r/Cryptocurrency.

My other account is 8+ years old though.

#2. What is your experience with moderation?

I became the moderator of a little known subreddit called r/LazyMoons four or five days ago and everyone thinks I am doing an amazing job.

#3. Any citations of previous works/experience to show? I believe my record speaks for itself. I have probably done more for the r/Cryptocurrency community in my short time here than anyone, except for Damnusernamegotcutof, Fiatminer, Cryptardo, the entire current roster of moderators (excluding IHaventEvenGotADog), and numerous other users who have done more for the community than I have.

#4. What time zone are you in? Tokyo Time, but I work and sleep at odd times, so I believe my actual schedule may me more similar to someone in India Standard Time. I'm not in India though, I want to make that very clear.

#5. Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology/etc. in the crypto realm? I am involved in a number of Social Media Accounts for numerous DeFi projects and protocols in the Fantom Opera ecosystem. I was at one point the community manager for an Android/IOS Mobile Game with some crypto features, however they totally stopped paying me and the development keeps getting delayed.

#6. Where do you see our place in the Reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I believe the Reddit Community Points Experiment represents a unique opportunity for r/Cryptocurrency and all of its users, and sometimes I think I am the only one who can see the true potential of that.

#7. What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I currently hold eight coins/tokens, including three I consider to be totally 100% decentralized (BTC and XMR and ETH), one I consider to be mostly decentralized (Fantom + three ecosystem tokens), and one totally centralized and illiquid shitcoin (Moons). I am massively involved in DeFi and have been since last summer. I am always in favor of decentralized structures and hierarchies, except for situations where I find myself in a position of power in a centralized system.

#8. How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

According to my phone I dedicate about 25 hours per week to reddit, so if you say I spend five hours or so on unrelated (especially NSFW) subs, that's 20 hours per week, plus probably another ten hours or so at my work incognito. I mainly post here for moons though, so I expect if this application is successful I will become much less active on reddit.

#9. Please add any further information you wish to share.

I have a very attractive cat called Moki who has her own Twitter account with more than 60,000 followers, and one of them is Yoko Ono. So if we ever needed to contact Yoko Ono I can probably help you with that.

u/Princepersona1 application to be moderator at r/Cryptocurrency

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

I have 30,918 karma. My account has been active for 4 years and 3 months

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I have never been a mod but I have a quick worker and have work experience in QA so I'll be able to grasp and carry through with my responsibilities no problem

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

No citations.

References who can vouch for you?

No direct references but I always qctive in the sub

What time zone are you in?

EST

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I’m invested in a number of different projects both within and out of the top 10. Also will be jumping into defi really soon

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

Crypto in itself is the future and our community is a perfect gateway for new people to learn more about crypto, the type of people involved in it and realize that it's not a scary as they thought. I really believe the sub already is and even further will grow to be one of the most important ones on Reddit especially as mass adoption starts taking place.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

Decentralization to me means a a shift from where institutions and the rich control everything and giving the little guy an equal opportunity to make it. It means a shift I the way we think about finances and we systems we have around us. In terms of centralized Crypto, there is a place for them if I'm being completely honest and I believe they will always be around. But I personally rather stick to decentralized coins

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub? I'm here every single day for several hours per day. So plenty of time available

Please add any further information you wish to share.

I would love to be a part of the team and help the community in any way I can. Thanks for your consideration

My application to be an r/Cryptocurrency moderator

1. What is your account age and karma?

My account age is 18 months and my account karma is 42k

2. What is your experience with moderation?

I used to be a moderator on Break.com back when it was a video sharing site and have also moderated on two cryptocurrency related subreddits. I am very familiar with various aspects of modtools and modmail systems

3. Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I firmly believe that I have done the most work for r/CryptoCurrency out of any non-moderator on the subreddit. I have reported dozens of users for rule violations, making sure to show concrete proof each time. These include some of the worst spammers, plagiarists and multi-accounters the subreddit has ever seen

I started the trend for hunting multi-accounters after discovering that one of the most prolific and successful moon farmers had created an alt account to farm extra moons after reaching the 15k karma cap. This was the first time somebody had been caught trying to circumvent the karma cap and it's discovery ended up stopping thousands of illegitimately gained moons from getting into the wrong hands, as well as raising awareness to the problem which eventually resulted in some of the biggest "busts", such as those of Hame_Bih and Probetsman

This post exhibits some of the critical thinking skills that I apply to problems in order to solve them. In it, I manage to use a variety of different resources in order to tie the previously banned multi-accounter to an account that had made a single, deleted post. I also used similar techniques to catch the same user again in one of the many finds that I didn't take credit for

I once found that four new accounts were being operated by the same person in the cryptocurrency sub

I have also caught many bots/plagiarists across reddit. Here is an example from last week, here is another from this week and I just caught a network of at least 60+ accounts being operated by the same individual, presumably to sell to people so they can bypass karma/age restrictions like the ones that are active in r/Cryptocurrency. I don't want to post anything regarding more regarding this as I don't want to alert the user but I would be happy to verify in private to any curious mods

I also grew and maintained the r/HuaHua subreddit by myself before diverting everybody to the newer, official sub at the request of the ChihuahuaChain team

This is just a small percentage of what I've done and it was all performed without any incentive. I just love doing it. If I was to become a moderator and focus this energy solely on r/CryptoCurrency, the difference would be noticeable immediately

4. What time zone are you in?

My time zone is GMT (UTC + 0) and I am active from 8AM - 11:30PM

5. Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology/etc. in the crypto realm?

I've been involved in crypto since 2017 and have seen it all. I am not directly linked with any specific cryptocurrency or crypto related project but am active in many telegram groups and subreddits

6. Where do you see our place in the Reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I believe that cryptocurrency is the future and that r/CryptoCurrency will be one of the spearheads that drives mass adoption. If selected to be a moderator, I would ensure the safety of our users by helping to protect them from misinformation and by working to reduce the effectiveness of scammers and other bad actors who don't have the best interests of the community at heart. I would also do my part for my fellow moderators, tackling any backlogs in modmail and making sure to always do more than my expected share

7. What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I've been a massive believer in decentralisation for many years now and have utter contempt for the current financial system. I hold the vast majority of my savings in cryptocurrency. I'm a big advocate for XMR (the real digital gold) and have actively stayed away from centralised projects such as XRP, regardless of the potential gains they may bring

8. How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

I am self-employed and fortunate enough to have to work very little. I spend most of my time practicing one of my many hobbies so can be online whenever it is required of me. I can guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week

9. Please add any further information you wish to share.

I am an honest, trustworthy, observant, fair and extremely driven individual. I am also a fast learner

Perhaps most importantly, I'm not motivated by power or money. I am just here to try and make a difference. I don't really like to mention it but aside from u/LargeSnorlax I have tipped the most moons in this subreddit, many of them to people in third world countries

I won't be requesting anybody give me a reference as this isn't a popularity contest and I want to be judged on my own merits and not by how many people I can drum up by asking for support in the DMs and the daily discussion

Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have

Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

as a vision i like to have the members and mod team to interact in a very fun way, And by fun i mean, i really like coming up with various ideas, games and all, and i have a track record of successfully organizing and completing all the Contest in Telegram group for the members without any hiccups.

Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

im very very very sure that people who know me will vouch for me in the comment section and i also believe that the above mentioned Moderators will also vouch for me but i do not wish to drag them into the comments. but well enough if anyone do comment down thank you so much!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I don't have much to say but i do believe actions speak louder than words, and have proved it too, i know there may or may not be an open mod position but incase you are looking for anyone ill be ready to take it and also I'm still working with the above said moderators and i think and would be lovely if i can join the team here too

My Reddit account is one year old (created on August 12th 2020)

My comment karma is currently at 40,822

  1. what are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

Unfortunately no I don’t have any of those skills. But I’m willing to learn from someone who does. I didn’t have any experience with crypto at one point but I learned overtime and I’m willing to do the same here. I also do not have any external profile references

  1. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I currently do not moderate any subreddits so it would not be a burden to me and I would have the ability to focus all my time and energy here in r/cryptocurrency.

  1. what project in the crypto space are you a fan of or interested in?

I personally am a fan of multiple crypto projects and all them interest me Since each one is unique and serves a individual purpose towards its respected blockchain

If I had to pick my favorite one it would be r/cryptocurrency moons because the concept/idea behind them will be revolutionary as social media expands moving forward in the future. Moons also interest me because it’s the only crypto i hold that can be used for governance. so I feel that vote really truly does matter.

  1. what is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

My timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5). I have a high activity schedule that rarely fluctuates. I work 6am-2pm (EST) but I’m free to Reddit at 2:30pm-11:30Pm(EST) I’m also thankful that I have the ability to pop in at 12:00pm while at work on a regular basis

  1. do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

One of my goals as being a moderator would be to spread as much information to the community as I can, providing answers to questions where I’m most knowledgeable in, and just overall trying to help the community better itself in the long run since I plan on sticking around for a long time even if i don’t get the moderator position.

  1. can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

Yes, most certainly I can think of a bunch of users that I’ve helped here in the subreddit to vouch for me

  1. is there anything else you would like to add?

In closing I would just like to say that if I am accepted as part of your moderator team I will do my best for the benefit of the community that’s provided me so much knowledge in the time I’ve spent here.

Looking forward to hearing or working with you all

Application to help moderate the r/CryptoCurrency community.

What is your account age and karma?

7 years, 7 months. 55,000 karma (32,118 post karma / 11,573 comment karma)

  1. what is your experience with moderation?

I know this might seem controversial, but I’m a Mod on the SafeMoon sub and pushed hard to encourage an anti-Brigading stance – particularly with regards to sub members posting on r/CryptoCurrency and then posting about being ‘banned’. Never quite understood the purpose of those posts and the result (in agreement with the Senior Mod) was this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/SafeMoon/comments/pcq3z7/recent\_posts\_regarding\_rcryptocurrency\_the\_state/

  1. Any citations previous work/experience to show?

As an Oxford graduate, I typically prefer to write lengthy, fact based posts - things like Whale watching posts and informational posts:

Applying for Mod Role in r/CC with specialisation in brigading (GMT+4, Asia)

Hey guys, I'm applying to be a mod for r/cc, with more focus on preventing brigading.

I've been a active member of the r/cryptocurrency sub reddit and find my self capable of moderating the sub to prevent vote manipulation and brigading.

I've been working with u/nanooverbtc for quite a few days and reported many via mod mail as well. I have the time and resources to dig deeper, even to socials of communities to prevent brigading and vote manipulation.

An added benefit is that I'm from the other end of the world so 12H behind the US, which is when I think the sub is lacking some moderating, I can work while the main mod team is asleep and it will be a great way of moderating round the clock 24/7.

I'm tech savvy as well so I can use the mod tools pretty good, my main goal of joining the team is to make the sub an even more fair place for projects to flourish in providing equal opportunities for fair discussions taking place.

u/homrqt Application to be an r/Cryptocurrency mod

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

8 years, 6 months and 62,488 karma

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I have moderated the r/italianamerican subreddit for 7 years. I'm very comfortable applying the rules in a friendly manner. I'm very familiar with reddit, how it functions, general culture, etc, and I have spent a significant amount of time in the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I was an IT Manager for around 15 years before starting my own small business, so I feel very familiar with technology and people.

What time zone are you in?

CST / GMT-5

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I've been actively investing and mining various coins since 2014. I'm not attached to or associated with any projects directly.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

This subreddit is clearly a major subreddit with a lot of activity and an incredible amount of influence across the platform. This subreddit is the go-to resource for crypto related materials on the website and because of both its size and importance, it has a very extensive set of community guidelines. I see this subreddit continuing to expand as the crypto industry continues to drastically grow across the globe. I would love to be part of the team that helps quality content thrive, and remove content that does not meet community standards, as well as be a resource for community members that need to communicate to the moderation team.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

To me, decentralization means a system that is much more difficult to compromise and is much easier to scale to larger proportions. Because it functions off of widespread nodes, with the proper protocols in place, it becomes a system that is significantly more difficult to defeat than a centralized platform. Centralized cryptos have the benefit of having more centralized control which allows for more direct action over the system by developers and partners, but that also increases the potential to be compromised more easily. I believe both have a place in the world and one of the main benefits of the crypto industry at large is that it is has such diversity of thought and application.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

40+ including weekends

Thank you for your time!

Application for being part of r/cryptocurrency’s weekly mega thread contributor

What is your account age and karma?
My account is over 1 year old and I have around 5,493 karma

What is your background?
I’m a data scientist (with PhD) employed at a public research center, who works on projects related to big data analysis and industrial automation. I have over 3 years experience working with and developing web APIs and backend data processing/ Machine learning models.

What will the weekly summary be about?
I would like to make a tabular summary of the sentiments (bullish, bearish and reliability) of r/cc for different cryptocurrencies using lexicon model and data collected from the subreddit. I would collect data (comments) daily and would summarize a weekly update based on quality comments (comments with more than 6 words and more than 2 upvotes). A few samples of my contributions can be found here and here. The details about methodology and how to read the table can found in my posts. I also add a simple summary of the sentiments and low cap coin mention in my post. I hope mods would take a interest in my posts and allot me a slot on weekly thread.

What is your account age and karma? My account is a bit over 2 years old and I have around 126k karma

What will the news summary be about?

- I would make an in depth analysis regarding the sentiment of the crypto market during the week. This would also include news about sentiments around crypto from people who are not yet invested in the asset class.

Application for becoming an approved contributor to Weekly Summary

What is your account age and karma?
Account age: 3.5 years
Karma: 70k

Background:
I've been observing the crypto space since 2012/2013 and slowly started becoming more active after 2015. I'm a crypto enthusiast and believe it's the technology which will revolutionize our world.
Ever since I found this sub I daily check news about crypto and regularly post them here.

What my news summary will be about:
I want to post a variety of news about the crypto space:

  • Objective Articles

  • Coin Stats (ATHs, narket crashes, market cap changes, trading volume, how many new addresses has been created)

  • Objective summary about a new/hot coin

My questions:

"It will be pinned once a week if there's an open slot "

  1. At which day of the week?
  2. How do you determine which post will be picked?
  3. Since there will be multiple approved users, won't the weekly news overlap too much/often?

A suggestion to combat #2 & 3:
Wouldn't it be better to assign each user with a certain coin and rotate after each week/month?
We should have a pre-configured post where every approved user can post their news about their coin and at the end of the week a mod/bot publishes the post.
Just as the post limit on the r/CryptoCurrency, each coin should get a limit how many news it can have so the post doesn't get too crowded.

At the end of the month the Moons should be equally split up.

Application for helping out

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.
Account age: 3.5 years
Karma: 70k

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

Ive been a moderator of an old MMORPG (Silkroad) ingame and of their forum, before the private server (Goodtimes) shut down. I've dealt with user requests, user support, spam moderation and trying to enforce the rules as good as possible.
I have basic skills in HTML, PHP, CSS, VB, Python, Java, JS & C#, MySQL and I'm getting a degree as a developer in computer science.

I'm fairly new when it comes to moderating a subreddit but I'm a quick learner and excited to learn new skills.

References who can vouch for you?

I don't think I have anyone who would vouch for me because I have been a moon farmer and a shitposter. I'm aware how people exploit this system in order to farm moons and I want to use those bad traits of mine for something good instead.

What time zone are you in?
UTC+02:00
But I'm quite active throughout the day.

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I've been observing the crypto space since 2012/2013 and slowly started becoming more active after 2015. I'm a crypto enthusiast and believe it's the technology which will revolutionize our world.
My favorite projects are Monero, Nano, Ethereum, Cardano, Bitcoin and Moons.

I've found this subreddit ~1year ago and ever since I'm hooked and daily check what's going on.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?
This subreddit isn't the same anymore as it used to be a year ago but that's not necessarily bad.
Although ever since moon farming became profitable I noticed an influx of malicious and greedy behavior. Still, this subreddit is one of the best places to learn about crypto IMO.
I want to contribute to this sub in any way possible in order to:

  • Make this subreddit a place where people can get high quality info about crypto and daily check out what's going on in the crypto space
  • Become a place where people enjoy their stay
  • Support real discussions and let Moons become a bonus rather than most peoples main objective
  • Shape this place where users help each other answering questions
  • Use my past mistakes to detect and prevent malicious and greedy behavior

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I love decentralization because it prevents entities to abuse their power.
Everyone can participate in it and make the network grow stronger.
It's a great method for anti-censorship where every participant matters.
When it comes to cryptos I personally prefer decentralized ones.

Still both, decentralization & centralization have their benefits and drawbacks.
Centralized entities can much easier & faster solve user issues.
In case a user does something wrong, you can ask a centralized entity for help to solve your issue.
Although this also gives them too much power where it's a matter of time until someone abuses it.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?
I'm daily lurking on this sub throughout the day, of which I'm 2-3 hours active.

Please add any further information you wish to share.
Whether I'll become a mod or not I' continue to check out what's going on in the crypto space and dedicate my time to help out users by answering their questions and bring new ideas to solve & improve the sub.

Application for r/cryptocurrency moderation

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both. My account is about 7 months old and it has about 11500 karma.

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones. I don’t have any experience in moderation, but I worked in customer service before.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show? No citations.

References who can vouch for you? No vouch.

What time zone are you in? CET

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm? I’m invested mostly into the top 10 cryptocurrencies with over $10k.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that? With about 3.4 million members, it is one of the most popular subreddits. I want to be part of this by making sure as many members are satisfied with this subreddit as possible.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos? For me decentralization means Bitcoin, because there is no single entity controlling it. Centralized cryptos don’t make much sense to me, because that’s what Bitcoin is about decentralization.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub? 10 hours per week

Please add any further information you wish to share. I like cryptos :D

Application for r/cryptocurrency moderator

  1. What is your account age and karma?

5 years 4 months, 55000 karma (25k posts & 24k comments) 96% in r/cryptocurrency

  1. what is your experience with moderation?

None, I created some sub reddits but didn't actively recruit anyone...

  1. Any citations previous wotks/experience to show?

None, I am an electronics and telecom Engineer in india who have studied programming languages but my current job doesn't require those skills and I might have lag behind in that department.

  1. References who can vouch for you?

None, however being an active member of this sub since the 2017 bullrun (was a lurker at that time) I might have seen the past and present condition of the sub and may have contribute good things to hopefully make our sub the best cryptocurrency sub and hopefully have encouraged some bloke in the sub.

  1. What time zone are you in?

The Indian Standard Time, +5:30 of GMT

  1. Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. In the crypto realm?

I'm active on the sub but I don't have any other activity in the above said activities, got some moons from the sub and that's it, no IPO etc.

  1. Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I have always reiterate that our sub is the best sub in reddit, not only in terms of being the best crypt6sub but also the best place to hang out and get encouragement in life, kinda all in one.

In the future I want to help others more especially the newcomers in things related to cryptocurrencies as much I can, I'm not a professional but I'll do my best, can't do no less....I'll keep on learning as we move along forward.

  1. What does decentralization means to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I'm a big believer of decentralization since I got baptized to crypto, I see that it can help a layman in a lot of ways in that he feels good and free from the shackles old power in the corrupted people who took the liberty to make the common man a slave financial wise (atleast that's what I observed in my country)

I'm in for the decentralized crypto however if a centralized crypto helps the poor and financially lagging people a chance to grow then I'm not averse to it and will gladly take advantage of the tech it offers.

  1. How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

I'm mostly free, mainly because I'm still single and I can definitely give 60-80 hours per week to the sub.

  1. Please add any information you wish yo share.

I love our sub, like I said before I want to see it grow along the core principles of the sub and hopefully improve it more.

Also I want to add that since our sub is growing at a faster than light speed, many unscrupulous persons may have taken advantage because of the lack of Moderators in some specific time zone, to combat that I feel I may be a good candidate since I'm from the Indian Standard Time and will hopefully be an Asset to the sub. Thank you for reading this.

u/yellao23 Application to become a r/cryptocurrency moderator.

How much account age and comment karma do you have?

I have roughly 9,200 overall karma, with the majority of it having come from the CryptoCurrency sub. My account age is roughly over 1 year.

What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with Auto Moderator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I've done some moderation for gov sites that utilize YouTube and development platforms.

I am currently a web developer, and have some skills in systems programming, as well as Database Dev, WordPress, CSS, HTML, C, C++, C#, .NET framework, JavaScript, Java, Multi-Platform App Development, SQL, and CMS systems.

I feel my comfort level is pretty high with tech things as I have been a general developer/ and web developer for some time.I could help as different issues arise. Moreover, if new features are implemented, I think I would be able to easily adapt, given my background.

Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I am not currently moderating any subreddits, and have a lot of extra time to help moderate.I truly wanted to find something that interests me while also being a resource. This would be an excellent way of giving back.

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I am very active in the crypto world as well as the cryptocurrency subreddit. However, I am not directly a part of any publications, websites, etc.

I was in the middle of developing a crypto project, but recently decided against it, as I think the solution that crypto would help solve is already being built. I think CryptoCurrency can solve a lot of issues and thankfully people are coming up with new solutions everyday.

What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

I currently hold some of the blue chip crypto such as Bitcoin, ETH, and ADA. However, I am a big fan of some lesser known ones, such as GET Protocol and SHLD Finance.

I believe they are some great projects, that have a lot of real world use that will foster adoption.

What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

I am in EST (Eastern Standard Time) right now, but am available for other hours, and time zones where needed.

Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

I do have a vision of seeing crypto solving a lot of issues in the world. I am a first generation African in the U.S. and I see how corruption and general economical issues are destroying my country of descent.

However, I am seeing how crypto is already helping Africans them beat the system, as they're one of the biggest adopters of crypto in the world as of now.

My vision is to foster this progression in crypto in any way I can, as well as leverage my skills and background to promote this growth.

Also, I'm really into music, and have done research into merging NFTs and music, to solve the problems and issues in the music industry space.

Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

I believe I can find some people to vouch for me, and what I bring to this space, as I love being a part of the cryptocurrency community, and as result have met a few people here and there from being so active. The crypto sub is a little bit of my second family and is a lot of fun to be a part of.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Think I would be a great addition to the moderation team! I believe my integrity and web/general development skills would be a huge asset to the team. As well as my tech acumen!

Moreover, I am on the sub so much (10+ hours a day) that I run out of new posts to check out. As a moderator I could be helping people in the community, while also doing something I love. Not sure if there's greater combination of the two.

Thanks for your consideration!

u/kryptoNoob69420 applying for r/CryptoCurrency Mod

My application to become a r/cryptocurrency moderator-

What is your account age and karma?

Account age 5m12d, total karma is 4739. Most of this is from r/cc and I am pretty sure my karma would have been much higher if I had joined r/cc earlier or if I had spent as much time on other subs as well.

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I haven't been a mod on reddit before but I have worked as a support engineer and answered a good number of queries(well that's kinda a part of being a mod :)). I have been in a leadership position (mostly as a team leader) for the past 5 out of 10 years of my total work experience which has taught me how to communicate responsibly and clearly.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I have worked as a software developer on enterprise scale applications for over a decade now with most of my experience in Java and related technologies. I also have experience with front end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Angular. With my experience I feel that I can quickly grasp and contribute towards any dev work required by the mod team apart from moderating the sub, for e.g., creating a web application, updating any existing code, working on schedulers, cron jobs, writing python scripts, etc. I have worked for multinational corporations and interacted with people from different nationalities as a regular part of my profession.

I can share my LinkedIn profile if requested in DM.

References who can vouch for you?

I don't know anyone personally on reddit but I can share real world references who can vouch for me.

What time zone are you in?

IST (UTC+05:30)

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I am regular investor in few of the popular cryptocurrencies but am not formally affiliated with any particular product or company.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I think as the world becomes more aware of the potential of cryptocurrencies, a lot of newcomers will look towards platforms like r/cc for guidance and knowledge. Therefore, I feel that r/cc will grow immensely with the growth in cryptocurrencies popularity.

I want to be someone who helps others on their introduction and journey in this new world. I'd love to be a small hand in reshaping the world as I believe cryptos really are a world changing invention. Being a mod at r/cc seems to be a good match for this aspiration.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

Decentralization means a certain type of freedom. It's a type of freedom from control and censorship, a freedom from controlling entities like large financial institutions or from individual countries.

I think both centralized and decentralized cryptos are like two sides of the coin and both are needed to satisfy different use cases. A good and often cited use case for centralized cryptos is in case of governance while for decentralized cryptos, a very popular use case is as a store of value which is independent of any controlling entity. Personally, I love the group consensus mechanism and the trust less aspect of decentralized cryptos.

To make it a bit generalized, I'd say that a good case for centralization is when you need to assign some sort of control to one or more entities, while it's the exact opposite for decentralization where you are trying to ensure that no one has a controlling stake.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

Around 3-4 hours daily.

Please add any further information you wish to share.

I feel that I can be a good all-round addition to the team. I have a good amount of experience in software development which can be leveraged by the team. I am not sure about r/cc, but my time zone means that I am available when usually most mods aren't available (it'll be a win for mod decentralization!). I am friendly and a team player and also a very patient person, something which I think is a really important quality for mods everywhere.

Thank you for going through my application!

My Application For Mod

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

Account age is 5y with Karma at 11.7k

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I've ran numerous Facebook pages, including my own, and also the company I work at. We constantly monitor posts, comments, and emails to make sure content is not damaging to the companies image or brand. I believe in professionalism, and while this sub is more for fun, I try and keep my posts and comments informational, while hoping to continue to learn myself.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

As mentioned, I run our companies facebook page currently. Other pages are no longer active. Kalamazoo Country Club is our facebook page in Kalamazoo MI.

References who can vouch for you?

On here? I don't actively chat with members too often unless it's someone asking a question on the side. I mainly stick to myself on here.

What time zone are you in?

Central Time Zone (Michigan)

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I am not a part of any crypto projects. I've been an investor since late 2017, and have been a avid lurker and poster since. I love the technology (Smart Contracts Especially, but also believe Blockchain is the future) and see it being one of the biggest technological advances in daily life since the internet.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I work from a dual monitor computer at my current job, while also using my cell phone to post and stay active on the go. I am applying as I'd love to help clean up this sub and get back to what it really is all about, Crypto discussion. While I also love joining in on the fun, I try and keep my comments and posts relevant to crypto. I believe as a whole, we can remove the crap that is clogging up this sub and would love to be apart of that. I usually spend 15min or so an hour in this sub while at work since I can multitask while other projects are finishing up. I think I can be of great benefit on the end of helping remove spam at the very least. We do not need 100 posts about Elon Musk, Moons, or repeated spam posts and comments in the new section. Nothing irks me more than scrolling down and seeing the exact same post from a different new outlet, or something that has been posted 10 times over in the past 24hrs.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

Decentralization means giving the power back to the people. Banks, governments, and regulations are keeping the poor poor, and the rich rich. While I know we'll never be fully allowed to operate crypto without some regulation, at the very least blockchain and crypto can help keep our government accountable for spending and of course being able to see on the open ledger where that spending is going!

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

Around 15-20 hours give or take. Work week I am scrolling through here a ton. Sunday's and Mondays (my two days off) I may only be on here an hour or so a day.

Please add any further information you wish to share.

As mentioned, I just want to help with the spam, we don't need the same copy/pasted posts and comments just for moon purposes. I'd love to help with that.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate your hard work.

I have 1 years of experience in Crypto Investing before that I was doing Options trading, I’m an active IPO investor in Stock Market also participated in many IDOs. I’m very interested in Blockchain tech.

Where do you see our place in the Reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

Reddit helped me so much in life here you find good advice and information for self-improvement. r/CryptoCurrency helped me so much to understand crypto world and your Moon experiment is very good attempt to decentralized decision-making on social media.

I’m a supporter of Blockchain tech and CryptoCurrency I would like to support and help new people to understand CryptoCurrency and its true purpose.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

All freedom comes from financial freedom and the right to property is essential from creating an equilateral society. Decentralization helps to achieve it. Currently around the world democracy and civil liberty are under threat and governments are trying to encroach on civil rights that’s why I think decentralization is the need of hour. I do feel extreme centralization is bad.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

15 hours a week more if help need in any task/project

My application for mod position on r/cryptocurrency

Hello, I am 28, I've work for an online entertainment company for about 6years, dealing with their storefront and their discussions forum as well. (I can provide the site privately)

This reddit account is fairly new, I can provide proof of my main account / and work history privately. This account is just here to talk code and crypto.

I've handled probably upwards of 100,000 tickets ranging from simple help, to codes of conduct resulting in account bans. The work cycle was basically 24/7 I just did as much work as I could when I could. I started out with the company as a basic employee, then worked my way up to supervisor and a small team that I led and worked with.

I am very good with communication and making sure I ask before any action is taken if need be. I live in CST timezone. I have plenty of time to help out and keep things civil.

I can definitely commit a good number of hours in a week, wouldn't be a problem with me.

My crypto knowledge is pretty average or above average. I read a lot, about all types of coins/pulls/banks/ and other information that pops up. I invest into crypto so I see it as time well "spent" :) I am not directly involved in any crypto companies or coins besides buying them.

I see the r/CryptoCurrency growing to be even bigger than it already is in the near future, I would love to help newer people who are just getting in to avoid the pitfalls we all go through, and HOPEFULLY keep them away from these scams. [which are getting INSANELY good btw]

As for vouchers and references, I have some co-workers that may vouch for me, I don't really want to publicly list him. That would have to be in private.

Lastly, thank you for taking the time to read my application, I'd love to have an open dialogue and get to know more about you guys as well! I'm a teamplayer, I know being a mod is hard and annoying at times but it's good to be there when people need you.

My application for moderator position on r/CryptoCurrency u/Nuewim

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

I have around 28 600 ( 20.02.2022) karma and account for 1 year and 6 months, but it is rather new account. I read reddit for much longer time, since I was in primary school, so like 10/12 years, I just never had an account.

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I was moderator of small subreddit, I did it on few games forums long ago and messenger groups ( my highschool class group, and university group). I have not much experience in being moderator of so big sub as CC yet, but I really want to try myself on moderator position on CryptoCurrency. I love learning new things and I am ready for new experiences.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I was moderator of small subreddit. I am also active user of CC subreddit and one of top 10 most active users in CC Telegram. All those things are easy to check.

References who can vouch for you?

I try to help a lot of people here, but I don't know any of them outside reddit or in real life. And as we know DMs in reddit are mostly scammers. I am also one of 10 most active users on CryptoCurrency telegram, so I am sure that a lot of people there would vouch for me including probably many if not most of top 30 CC telegram members. I don't want to ask them for doing it, cause I don't like using people in such way.

What time zone are you in?

GMT, I am from europe.

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I invest in crypto, like to read about it and gain new knowledge. I am not involved atm in any project and I am at first place CC user and against any shilling or brigading for any coins I have in portfolio. I am also big fan of Metaverse, but I am not involved directly in anything. I have many coins in portfolio, I never was fan of any particilar crypto and I don't like tribalism many people try to create.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

Today I like to think about myself as a Christmas elf in CryptoCurrency, cause I like to help people, discuss interesting things and also do crypto experiments/ research ( for example I plan to ask 50 people in real life to check what they know about crypto and share results) also I like to do some crypto journalism on reddit. In future I want to be a mod, but I would also like to learn more about crypto technology and stay active on this sub and CC telegram.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I think decentralization is very important in crypto and not only there, but in every sphere of our lives. Decentralisation give people freedom. I don't want to judge anyone, I think centralized crypto also should exist, everyone should have a choice. Also true decentralisation is just a dream, with mass adoption of crypto and more laws it will be impossible. But that doesn't mean we shouln't support idea of decentralized crypto. Crypto should be decentralized as much as it can, but with healthy relation to rest of real world if we want to think about mass adoption.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

It really depend. I am university student, so I have a lot of free time that I spend on crypto, probably 30/40 hours weekly. More on holidays or weekends.

Please add any further information you wish to share.

I wanted to become mod on CryptoCurrency since I get a warning for posting 4 posts in 24 hours. I asked few questions about it in message, so I don't know who was mod that answered, but he was really nice, helpful, and even wished me nice weekend. I never met so nice mod on reddit, and I met a lot of mods. On other subreddits mods often are often terrible, so I am really happy that here on CryptoCurrency mods are so great. It was my inspiration to become mod here too, and to help people. On CC telegram I have sometimes pleasure to talk with mods like Nano, JW, Cintre and Rider and not only are they great mods, but also very nice, helpful and funny people. CC Telegram is great place for more casual spending of time and I would love to be mod like them someday.

Throwing my hat in to help moderate CryptoCurrency

##How much account age and comment karma do you have?

8 Years, 103,000 karma.

##What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

Couple years over on GameTrailers, before the forums got yeeted. On heavy days we would have a couple thousand items in the moderation queue, everything from user squabbles, spam reports, edit requests, archive requests, you name it. I do Data Analysis for a living & can code some excellent VBA scripts to automate work, identify patterns of behaviour and trends. I'm an "ideas man" and have won innovation awards because of my outside-the-box problem solving abilities.

##Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties? Gametrailers was my only moderation experience

##What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in? I started in 2017 with Cardano, Ripple & Ethereum. I really like the Cardano subreddit as the users there are wicked intelligent and give so much of their time to help noobies with questions or get them set up and ready to go. This is the kind of activity I miss from r/cc. Realistically I'm a fan of every legitimate project with a decent set of developers. I own 0 Tezos but I respect what they do and root for them to achieve more. I have a little LINK but I'm always happy to see people with big LINK bags posting insane profits. It's not Crypto vs Crypto, but Crypto vs Fiat. We all swing for the same side.

##What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be? GMT. Evenings and weekends, coinciding with busy-times. Sometimes during the day on weekdays.

##Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it? I believe that in the last few months the subreddit has seen an influx of accounts who are participating not to be a part of a community, but to farm moons. We have seen evidence of plagiarism, multiple accounts, several hundred comments per day from single users, re-hashed posts and tribalistic behaviour.

I do not think this is the type of activity we want to see. No subreddit is perfect, but I remember a time when the front page was filled with guides, debates, discussions and news.

I remember when you could open a thread and see actual discussion and users talking to each other, not opening the thread once, leaving one vague comment and leaving, never to return.

That's the kind of subreddit I remember and that I want to return to.

I believe in

  • Caution
  • Limitation
  • Removal

As the ideal method to deal with bad-faith interaction with the subreddit, as well as being open and firm with the community on actions taken. I know moderators can often make themselves unpopular, but I'm pretty battle-hardened especially after the GIF poll fiasco.

##Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

I'm not sure who to tag as I don't have regular discussions with individual users (I'm not a huge participant in the DD which is where that usually comes from)

Lately I've been talking to

/u/anuncreativename10
/u/o__0
Specifically about the state of the subreddit so I think they can vouch for my intentions. I've also had some in-depth discussions with
/u/largesnorlax and
/u/CryptoMaximalist
About general ideas to improve the sub.

##Is there anything else you would like to add? You know that meme'd top comment you see all the time, "Be the change that you want to see"?

I think the sub needs to change - slightly. I don't think we were prepared for the Moon price explosion and the ill effects that causes. In the last 3 months we've seen a flooding in of accounts with only one purpose in mind and that's how to be awarded with the most amount of moons for the least effort given.

/u/CryptoMaximalist said something last month that really stuck with me. He believes that Moons should be awarded in proportion to the value added to the subreddit. I agree wholeheartedly.

I have far too much to say about this, and some of the better arguments I've written are on this thread

What this shows is a long-term will to see the sub in the best state it can be. I've never spammed, nor participated in bad-faith. I've submitted governance polls and explained my position to attempt to improve the subreddit for the benefit of us all, rather than a small contingent of users.

I've looked at some of the other applicants. I may not be online as often, but I have experienced how much vitriol mods can be subject to and believe it's good to have plenty of IRL hobbies & interests to remind you that people are people and they have good & bad traits. I have no connections with redditors that would interfere with mod duties, and consider myself a charismatic and well-rounded individual.

#My bottom line here is to help pull the sub back to the way it was.

Cheers!

/u/ifknlovela application to become /r/Cryptocurrency Moderator

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

Account Age: 6 years
Karma: 12,252

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I have scattered experience with Moderating all the way back to the mIRC days. I am very confident and comfortable in a moderation environment and very adaptable to needed skillsets.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

Not sure the best example here, but happy to provide any additional information requested.

References who can vouch for you?

Not sure about references on Reddit specifically, although I do have a few friends who actually work for Reddit corporate. I have plenty of RL references for my character and work-ethic.

What time zone are you in?

Currently in EST but considering a move back to PST soon. I am available most hours.

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I was first introduced to Crypto in 2012 in college and I was asking to mine some BitCoin, I declined as I didn't have the funds for a rig (whoops). I got back into the space after a few years and introduced Crypto to a lot of my friends and tried to find good projects to invest in. I lived in LA so it was hard to afford life + investments in Crypto. Now I am very involved in the Cryptocurrency and Cardano subreddits. I educate as many people in my life as possible on Cryptocurrencies and I currently own BTC, ETH, ADA, OMI, ORN, & BCH... and of course some reddit moons.

I do hope to launch my own token one day, but I want to make sure it has a good and thoughtful purpose.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I think Reddit has done an amazing job at being at the forefront of the technology world and Crypto is a big part of that. Dogecoin was born through Reddit and the Cryptocurrency subreddit is the beacon that lights the way for most people getting into Crypto. I think Moons help serve a lot of the same purpose that Doge did. It introduced people into the Crypto world and wallets, private keys, and how to see a transaction on the blockchain etc... The sub also is a great hub for useful information across the entire spectrum of blockchain, crypto etc...

Whether I get to be a moderator or not, I would love to be involved in the space and subreddit as much as possible, to help educate people, be involved in the community, and help support future projects that will provide value for users. I think Crypto will change the world in ways that we don't even realize yet and I am all in on the tech.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

Decentralization for me means that the power of the token, the trust in the token, and the governance of the token is dictated by the people instead of the issuing institution. I believe that both centralized and decentralized crypto's have a place in this world. In a centralized system, you have more control over the policy of the token which will help in tricky legal situations that arise in the future, however, I also want crypto's to be out of the hands of certain governments so the people, especially in oppressed regions in the world have the power and resources to then fight back through crypto.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

At the moment I have a decent amount of time able to dedicate to the sub, likely a few hours per day if need be. Honestly depends on the optimal amount of time to create the most value.

Please add any further information you wish to share.

This was a great exercise either way and I would love the chance to be apart of the moderation team on /r/Cryptocurrency*. I appreciate all your time in effort in reading these answers and I look forward to watching the future of this space take place and how this sub and it's users grow in new and exciting ways.*

Thanks!

Moderator Application - u/90DayF

  • How much account age and comment karma do you have?
    • Account Age - 2 yrs 1 month, Karma - 41177
  • What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?
    • I have not moderated any Reddit sub, but have moderated Facebook groups in past (non crypto) which had about 2000 members. I am a software engineer so can do fair amount of coding in my day to day life, so can learn if any coding is needed for bot etc.
  • Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?
    • I do not moderate any subreddits large or small. But I do spend a huge amount of my time on Reddit mostly when there's no work while working and late nights.
  • What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?
    • ETH, ONE, XRP, VET and a bit of Algo and SOL. My favorite amongst this has to be ETH, closely followed by Harmony ONE. ETH has literally changed the defi scenario in crypto.
  • What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?
    • I live in India so my timezone is (GMT+5:30). I am active pretty much from 10 AM here to almost 2 AM (yes am, not pm!) I do have a LOTTTT of free time when I am not working which I mostly choose to spend on Reddit.
  • Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?
    • I do infact. With the current explosion of members in our sub, and nonstop posts, mostly same links, same questions, etc, there is just way too much spam. I would like to help tackle some of that. There are many instances on daily basis where we see spam, upvote parties etc arent getting noticed by mods just cuz of the sheer amount of posts we have. I think I can definitely help on that aspect.
    • I would also love to be a part of any upcoming contests like Cointest, etc.
  • Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?
    • I've interacted with quite a few people over the time in r/cc and I am sure some of them would vouch for me. u/Cintre, u/I-LUV-CUPCAKES-AND-U, u/Drakenhorn, u/Ndivided132 are the first ones that come to my mind, but I guess I could find a few more if needed.
  • Is there anything else you would like to add?
    • Just that I love this sub and would love to be a part of its history.
