1. Don't be a Jerk
Racism, Homophobia or Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. Violators can expect permanent bans.
We do not shame based on player skill, loadout or gameplay preference. Violators can expect instant warnings, timed bans and permanent bans for repeat offenders.
2. No BungiePLZ Suggestions / Complaining Posts
This sub is dedicated to the PvP experience as it is. Speculation threads about the future of Crucible are okay with cited sources concerning weapon, class and ability tuning and sunsetting.
3. No matchmaking complaint posts.
4. No Random Roll/Sharditkeepit Posts
Posts asking if their random roll is good or not don't belong on the subreddit, but are welcome in the Discord https://discord.gg/mHNzaUkWfd
This rule will occasionally have an exception in the specific case of guns that are new to the game or can be crafted. We will try to keep these exceptions to one-per-gun. You're better off going to the discord for these though or searching the sub. There's also r/sharditkeepit, but that sub tends to be more focused on pve.
5. No Memes
r/Destiny2 or r/okbuddyguardian are more appropriate subreddits for your shitposting needs, or the discord.
6. No Achievement Posts
It's okay to share how you achieved something, but make sure your post has more informative substance than boasting.
7. No Non-Education Clips
Clips that are posted must have something to learn from them and if it isn't explained in the clip, with text, audio, or just being self explanatory, then it will require a comment on the post explaining what there is to learn from it.
8. Make High Quality Contributions
Start a conversation.
Even if you are just asking a question, you should be prepared to write at least two paragraphs. Give us something worth talking about!
In-depth, high-content guides about specific guns, perks, and techniques are ok.
Detailed, specific questions are fine as well.
But "is X gun good?" Go play with it and decide for yourself.
9. No Looking For Group Posts
Please use the discord for all of your CrucibleGuidebook LFG needs: https://discord.gg/mHNzaUkWfd
If you want to reach out to a specific user in the comments of a post, that's perfectly fine. But posts themselves should not be LFG in nature.
10. Please Flair Your Posts
Flairs help you enjoy curated content that suits your specific preferences.
If you're asking for help it's best that people know what platform you're on to give you the most accurate feedback. Consider flairing your Username as well.
11. Gameplay Review Requirements
We encourage gameplay + VOD reviews, but please follow these guidelines to get good feedback:
Choose a good video - A complete match, unedited, against similarly skilled opponents, where you played well.
Write a good description - You already have some idea what you did well, what you did poorly, and where you'd like to improve. At least one paragraph

Coming back to the Game after 2 1/2 years. What is considered the current Meta for Hunters? Back then it was a 140 hand cannon ich good range/stability and maybe rangefinder + an aggressive frame shotty with opening shot. High mobility and regen plus Stompees/strafe jump and gamblers dodge. I played arcstrider back then.
What did change? What‘s the preferred subclass now?
I’m a Controller player. I wanna make a build around my igneous. Character doesn’t matter. I was leaning towards prismatic Titan with op aspects and alpha Lupi class item(which I don’t have yet) or hunter but I’m not sure what exotic to use. Lucky pants or knuckle head radar could be good? And then chappy is a good primary choice but are there other good ones ? I also don’t know if I should lean even more towards handling or if it’s pretty much as fast as it could get
Isnt it now enhanceable, am I missing something?
Why is Endless Vale still in rotation if it's been discovered it's breaking audio?
Being 3 tapped and not even knowing about it is getting ridiculous now.
Hey Guardians, I've been playing destiny 2 pretty much nonstop since I downloaded the game and I've been mainly a PvE player, focused on build crafting and Stat distribution. But, I've been wanting to get into PvP a lot more. I wanna find people I can grind comp (and hopefully trials) with. Learn the ways to truly be effective and lead to victory. If you would like to give insight or would like to add me, feel free 😊 please and thank you
High handling with lone wolf and opening shot or closing time is just unfair. So much aim assist, and so snappy. Best energy sniper in the game
I peak a lane. Nobody there. I peak again. Nobody. I move an inch forward, enemies show up instantly like they were waiting for me.
My teammate is 2 meters in front of me, he goes through a corridor just fine. I follow him closely and get instadoomed by 3 guys from different angles.
I try to play at my pace, and the enemy team picks us one by one moving like a unit. I try to teamshoot and play together, and the enemy team spreads and wraps around us like they are black ops.
I see radar pings getting closer, I bait them and I push when I should. Yet the guy is inexplicably 7 miles away looking at me with elsies.
I use my super, and I fail miserably cause some stupid shit. The enemy uses their super and kills me behind a wall.
I feel like I'm playing decent to good by my standars (you can check my name if you think that matters), but it doesn't matter.
I'm feel lost, like I haven't felt in a long time
Does anyone know or test if the new shotty with x5 swashbuckler can one shot to the body?
Using this on void with ophidians is a dream. It feels like slideshot is always active it’s so stable.
The current special ammo system has a perfect blend of too much, too little, accessible and not accessible. I think it is actually perfect. We used to have too much, and we used to have almost nothing, it’s perfect right now Bungie. To add, the special ammo on the walls balance special out very well additionally in my mind, it’s not too often and not too rare (unlike heavy which is still too often lol)
I’ve placed in comp and I’m trying to get a better rose roll than the curated. Shaxx is telling me I need to finish my placement series which I did two weeks ago, and both weeks past then I did at least three matches and it still says “You must finish your Placement Series matches to focus this weapon.”
Does anyone know the solution here? There are a few years old threads that said a weekly reset or playing 3 matches would resolve this but I’ve played three again this week and am placed in Bronze and still cannot focus Rose.
I got sorta lucky on a solipsism roll with ophidians/scars but scars needs my primary to match my super. Are there combos other than elsie’s/twilight arsenal that are decent? I’m not really about the distance you need to maintain with the pulse rifles cause I run Chaperone in the kinetic slot and it feels like there’s a massive deadzone between their best ranges.
Could we get an update that showed what perks/buffs killed us? I question many deaths that could probably be solved with ex: bygones + high ground, or Rose + EP, titan melee + knockout. Would help understand where I go wrong, and what kind of enemies I’m playing against. The last one is a personal issue of mine. I’m one shot meleed all the time from full health and shield. I would love to know how they are ohk, but it’ll just say “[insert class here] melee”.
With the state of the game, I’m always thinking I’m playing cheaters, some things just aren’t explainable; and it almost seems like Bungie does it on purpose.
Using bakris dodge and blink, very stylish. Red X = I get turned to space dust
I will respond to all comments so feel free to cook me for this, I’ll do my best to explain myself
(I will be dying to half of these in game, and yeah I ripped this off YouTube)
wondering for bygones and desperate measures
Ridiculously high rate of literal new lights on my team in comp? I’ve never seen this before, every single game has a dude who downloaded the game seemingly 3 hours ago. No masterworked armor, weapons straight out of the current event. Everyone else in the lobby has a $200 emblem and a one letter clan tag melting through their chairs with nutsack sweat and I’m just consistently getting people who have yet to find their own thumbs.
Been playing comp fairly consistently for 2-3 years, I’ve just never seen this before.
I know there aren't many of us out there, but the new Rake Angle stasis glaive is the ultimate PvP glaive.
Its stats blow every other aggressive glaive out of the water. It can easily reach 100 range, can equip adept mods, and can roll impulse amplifier, a must-have perk for any PvP glaive.
But most importantly: it can roll with CHILL CLIP. Chill Clip. On a glaive. That's the only thing I've ever wanted on a glaive and it's as good as I thought it was going to be. Why? Because it shuts down the most reliable/common counter to glaives, which are shotguns.
If you hit a target with the chill shot, then they're screwed. They can't slide shotgun into you. They can't run back into cover or jump. Their only way to escape is to use their hunter dodge, behemoth/beserker melee, or icarus air dash.
If those abilities are on cool down, then the only thing they can do is watch you sink your blade into their cold flesh. It's delicious
You need to make sure your base magazine size is 4, otherwise you won't proc chill clip with the two shots you spawn with.
I know the GM this week is a complete pain in the ass, but the new glaive is totally worth it--if you're a glaive enjoyer, of course
Last few seasons were perfect. Recently it's been the worst match making of my life, with one lost erasing three wins. It's absolutely terrible.
That is all.
Has anyone tested out the new shotty yet? If so does it feel consistent and how is its range? Think it's worth farming for a good one?
Anyone else excited about the new mechabre? Curious to see if lone wolf and search party will stack. Chances of getting lone wolf and closing time or opening shot are really bad until Nov 5 hotfix, but could be even better than the snapshot opening shot roll from previous years.
Hey friends!
I know this probably isn't meta, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what would be most viable to use with a sniper? I would have thought sightline survey crafted would make the most sense for closer engagements as well as medium range... but the more I have used my adept max range Yesterday's Question with to the pain and eye of the storm I feel like I have held my own on closer engagements.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks guys!
Per the patch notes:
"Fixed instances of the curated Deadlock that dropped with incorrect perks. Hammer forged will be replaced with Rifled Barrel, High Caliber Rounds will be replaced with Light Mag, Killing Wind will be replaced with Lone Wolf, and Desperate Measures will be replaced with Closing Time. In cases where perks are enhanced, the perk will be swapped to the enhanced perk."
Not a 5/5, but still that's the two hottest new perks for shotguns. How many of you have kept your bugged roll? 😅
I was killed in crucible such fast and such often with Bygones "Highground" so that I decided to check my RNG luck and see, if the Perk "WeightGate" is real or not. It's my first time playing Gambit by the way.
Here are the results:
- I got 27x Bygones drops just by playing Gambit (but only 2 Bows in total) - Bygones is really heavy weighted
- multiple perks in one column; I have recorded all possible rolls, which means 3x3 perk rolls are 9 perk combination in total
- my RNG is heavy weighted to Under Pressure and Arttrition Orbs, while I seldom got Zen Moment or To the Pain
- even after 27 drops + 99 engrams opening there are 10 perk combos, which I didn't get
- the typical heavy weighting in the middle of the perk pool , seems not matching with my drops. Maybe some math Genies here, can "see" another kind of weighting
Drop Results:
- I only got 6x (3x3). I got more 1x3 or 3x1 combo drops - you decide by your self, if it's worthwhile for rank 4 resets or just stop at rank 3
- 4x Lone wolf + High Ground - 3 are trash magazine or barrels, so i just keep one.
- 2x Zen Moment + High Ground, I just kept one
- 3x Keep Away + High Ground, I just kept one
According to YouTubers only "High Ground" is worthwhile, rest of perks combos you can also find at other weapons. So far, I didn't get the 5/5. My best roll is Smallbore, Richoret Rounds, Lone Wolf, High Ground, MW Handling with 84 recoil Mod. I prefer to change the handling to Stab or Range MW. Of course, I will not farm anymore. Good luck to every one .
The most recent TWAB announced that we'll be able to access our first exotic class item w/o needing to play Dual Destiny:
We’ve also got a treat for those looking to get their hands on their very first Exotic Class item. While players must own The Final Shape expansion to have access to Exotic Class items, you do not have to have completed Dual Destiny to purchase the Festival of the Lost Exotic Class item rewards.
We won't have access to attunement BUT you can still grind out the Halloween event for Exotic Class Item Drops.

I guess I was curious to see if folks still use Exotic Class Items in PvP? I looked at previous posts: 1, 2, and 3
Seemed like the consensus generally fell to: These are toned down perks and not better then maining the exotic, specific movement/class ability perks were ideal, etc.
I guess, I wanted to know the opinion of the sub. Obviously, I encourage EVERYONE to go ahead and unlock the Exotic Class Item if they haven't already since this is the perfect opportunity to do so... but do you think it'd be worth grinding this event for different perk combinations? Obviously, if you haven't played dual destiny, you won't have access to the attunement table but do you think it'd be worth spending resources on this vs farming that 5/5 Mechabre that can drop Closing Time?
====
To the folks that actively use Exotic Class Items in PvP, do you find yourselves using them enough to warrant recommending folks to grind out FotL for a few sets?
Is there any effective approach here? I've noticed that this is where I feel the most uncomfortable. Even against a single player, if I need to push and they have abilities or special, they are at an advantage. If I try to apply pressure with my primary, it usually takes me repositioning a few times before I can get the first shot off and that's usually too late (particularly if more than 1 player is remaining). Let's assume my team's orbs are too far away to res without allowing a capture.
Maybe the answer is just to save abilities for those situations... I'm not sure.
For example - on voidlock I've been running magnetic grenades, but because I don't really get how they work, I'm not really getting the benefit of them in fights or maybe using them in the right way. Or with the prismatic build, I use arcane needle so I can get 3 melee charges, but I keep forgetting I don't start with all 3 at the beginning of the game. So I use the first one, and then I go to use the second one and get killed since it's still charging (is this a bug by the way? That abilities with multiple charges aren't all fully charged at the start of the game?)
I'm struggling to find a weapon that's clicking for me. I main pulse rifles (I suck with hand cannons) but I've been finding it hard to pick a pulse that clicks and helps me be consistent. I've tried Elsie's, BxR, Revision Zero, Scalar Potential, Horror's Least - there are games where these have felt great and games where I can't seem to consistently hit head shots. How do you get a weapon to click for you?
How do you respond to the movement from prismatic/strand hunters? I've been getting wrecked by these when they grapple since I don't know how to predict the speed and movement when they grapple. Any tips on how to position myself or engage them when they've using these movement techniques?
