I been working on color on ambrotypes. I started to take a different approach at it and I got pastels coming in today. One thing I found out. If I turn the heat down the color doesn’t disappear when I cook my varnish on.

    Hello :)

Hello, I'm new on reddit. Once I saw a video where Victoria Will was shooting tintypes of Sundance stars. I really loved the results but didn't care to know what was tintypes. Eventually I started to search and learn about collodion wet plate photography 3 years ago when confined from CoViD. This plate is one of my latest, probably the best I did. The model is the face of the Youtube Channel Bolchegeek.

Day at the Park. What do you guys think?

Also, why are my edges differing in contrast? The very edge is light while it gets darker in the middle. Any ideas? Thanks guys

Help a rookie out: which camera to choose?

I’m just getting started with tintype after years of film and cyanotype. Recommend me a cheap beginner camera, chemicals and resources to teach myself this art?

    Best plate of the day.

Graflex Speed Graphic f4.7, 1/2 exposure. I also got to experience what happens when you get too close to the flame when you varnish. Yikes, oops, lesson learned.

UVP-X option for the Uk market

I hear great things about UV Photographics UVP-X, being fast but also very stable and offering a long shelf life.

Unfortunately they don’t ship outside of the US or Canada, so was curious if there was a similar option for UK buyers?
