Ok, brilliant humans of one of the two not so shitty suburbs of Memphis, I have a question:
For whatever reason, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so many residents (no, not Memphis scum and 3 toothed, sub 60IQ Mississippi folks... those are easy to spot and instinctive to avoid) completely lose their minds on the roads here. I'm not talking about simply not paying attention or being absentminded. That exists everywhere, but there's definitely a multiplier in play here, probably has something to do with your limited gene pool... that's another debate entirely. What I'm getting at is that so many of you lose your desire for any kind of self preservation.
An example from today, while driving at the posted speed limit on Poplar in light midday traffic in the middle of 3 lanes a woman in a late model midsize luxury SUV (with 2 small children in the back seat) decided to look at me (making what I would perceive to be direct eye contact) and pulls out in front of the 8000lb truck that I'm driving... inside of 2 car lengths or less. After laying in the horn and stopping as fast as physically possible, she panics and stops directly in front of me putting her 2 kids directly in the path of a 1 ton class pickup truck death machine... Missed her vehicle by a foot or less. Thankfully I was paying attention, not dicking around on my phone like so many of you brilliant folks here do.
I see some kind of complete stupidity like this daily during the holidays. Shit that goes waaaaaay the fuck beyond daily driving errors (that everyone including myself make).
WTF is wrong with you people? Are you all on drugs? Or just so mentally incompetent that the most basic shit in life is an unachievable task?
They warned me that people here were kinda slow & dumb, but even after a few years here this nonsense is on a different level than anything else I've ever seen.
Furthermore, I remind myself that 38017 is one of the best things that Shelby County has to offer... making these shenanigans even more shocking & disappointing.
Anybody know what happened last night in Collierville just south of 385? About 4 cops sped past me and all went to the senior living complex.
This is a long shot, but if you were in elementary school in collierville in the 2000s, did you get an author visit from someone who wrote about a girl on a farm? It was a funny book, I remember a part with a slip and slide, and some clothes pins. She came and read parts of it to a few elementary schools. I can’t remember the name for the life of me.
Got a lot of time on my hands. Is anyone looking to jam or start a non-gigging band? All the apps and Craigslist folks are either pros or bums
Watch middle turn lane patrol car was sitting in front of hospital facing west with what appears to be no lights on. I was going east. The officer performs very wide U turn into oncoming traffic. It was an o crap moment for the car coming in opposite direction. When the officer finally gets the car to a stop you be a judge of the rest.
Hi, everyone! Can you recommend someone or companies that assist in setting up a podcast studio? Need to be located in Collierville or Memphis. Thank you so much!
Anyone need any moving boxes or packing paper (zip 38139) before it goes out with tomorrow's recycling?
Publix has been rated the most expensive Supermarket in Fl and in the top 10 expensive Supermarket in the US.The company had a 49 percent profit increase from 2023-2022.To give you some insight on Publix prices. I shop at Walmart for stable items and Aldi's mostly for their fresher Produce.Hellman's Mayonaise is $8.28 at Publix and $5.28 at Walmart, the same mayo. Radishes are $1.39 at Aldi's, $2.19 at Publix, the same brand name at both stores. I did have to buy a few items at Publix and I checked out at a register that had a younger cashier, she was a single Mom raising 2 young kids and said to me, I can"t afford shopping at Publix. That says it all.
Hey all. I've been in Collierville since 2020 and have worked at home for FedEx since 2022. New mandates are rushing everyone back into offices, but I'm not able to do the commute, partially to transportation issues and kids schedules. Im actively searching for a new remote option or something in town. Does anyone have suggestions?
Anyone know what’s going on with all the ashy clouds on Poplar? Looks really weird and wanted to make sure it was fine to drive through. Picture doesn’t do it justice but it does look really weird there as of 11 AM.
My husband has a job offer in Corinth, MS. We have been looking around at places to live that would be commutable. Collierville jumps out to us since we have four kids, the schools are great, and it has many amenities that we are used to in the Twin Cities. How long of a commute would it be from Corinth to Collierville? Are there other places there are closer that would be better?
Hello Guys,

Hello Folks,
so we are going to move to Collierville pretty soon, maybe next week. and actually we are expecting a child in few months, so can you please recommend us a good ob/gyn in town? and what will be quickest way to get an appointment? because most of the time, the renowned doctors have pretty busy schedule so if we go for the appointment, it will be couple of months late.
Thank you!!
How has Johnson park recovered from the snow/ice. I would like to get back to running there Monday, but I'm curious as to what the current conditions are like.

Hello,
So we are gonna move to Collierville pretty soon in couple of weeks, due to my job. So I have family of two young kids, can you please suggest which apartments are better for us? I chose Addison at Collierville , because the library, park and gyms are pretty close to it, which are important factors for me. But I am bit worried about safety, it’s not gated community…so do you guys think there are other better options available? I can pay up to 2k to 2200 rent. Please suggest!
Thank you in advance!
