Sick and sad kids can meet some Spiderman etc, and I really need Alex. Seriously, I'm so damn desperate that I would probably pay someone for it XD, this is my favorite comfort character and now I'm having the worst time in my life. My dream is to go to Halloween with someone who's in Alex costume and have a fun time (platonically!). I'll dress up as one of the girls who were in the record store from the movie.
So Alex an his droogs where dressed more like a kinda dystopian edgy ass teddy boys than the thing we see on Kubrick's movie?
Hi all
Does anyone know what ward the hospital scene was filmed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow?
I've read somewhere that it's now the intensive care unit, but that seems unlikely as the building that the scenes were filmed in are in the older part of the hospital?
Just really curious to know and wondering if anyone with local knowledge or anyone who worked on the movie would know.
Thanks
I got the trick or treat studios a clockwork dim mask and the other half mask is my first reahual in doing for a Gorgie mask i need to paint it green soon i will. I got the hat obviously. And the cane, i also put a cardboard knife on it like the movie.
It's not in the film (he doesn't hold up the milk in that shot) but I see it elsewhere often.
It was the summer break between 5th and 6th grade, I would stay up until 4 or 5am just watching tv. It aired at 2 in the morning on IFC uncensored. From beginning to end I was fascinated by the film. I couldn't believe some of the things I saw, but I found myself unable to look away. Every scene, every frame, every line was compelling to me. Not only that, but it was first film to really make me question life and society and the idea of free will. I was far too young to see it, but it was the movie that made me love film making.
I understand the film was for 18s & over only when released in the UK in January 1972, but how easy was it to get into cinemas then as a teen of say, 13 to watch a film like this? I can imagine young lads were eager to sneak under the age radar and see it.
As the title says - are there any songs you think fit Alex or Clockwork Orange in general? I always love when I can listen to good music that goes well with my hyperfixation, haha. As I'm typing this, I'm listening to an album by Alice Cooper, and I've just realized that his song 'Time to kill' fits Alex pretty well, maybe during his time in that institution where he gets the Ludovico-treatment, or shortly after that.
I'd be interested in your personal associations. :D
(EDIT: I'm going to listen to all the songs you mention in the comments, and as soon as I've done that, I'll tell you what I think about them. 😁)
THIS IS NOT MADE BY ME!!! It's just a video i saw and decided to share here.
I feel like I can predict it would either be a masterpiece of cinema or a rotten stinking dumpster fire but what do you think
Film was immediately a favourite of mine after first watching around 15 years ago, but this song has grown on me over time & is certainly my favourite from the soundtrack
So i am doing Alex for halloween. I got the whole outfit now i want to do some DIYs to it. I got the white shirt, pants, suspenders, bowler hat and eyelashes. I wanted some advice for the shirt and pants. I wonder if i should coffee stain them or keep them bright white i was planning on using make up to make some dirt skids and on the shirt i want to add the eye balls
favourite a clockwork orange quote ?
I feel almost ashamed to ask but as a birthday gift to myself i’m trying to make a life sized cardboard cutout of alex and there are like ZERO reasonable quality full body photos of him. I found one and tried enhancing it with one of those things online but it looked so weird. If anyone has any full body photos of him like at all please please share (apologies if this is weird and/or makes no sense i’m knackered)
Just asking this since it’s very heavily implied and I think he might have said it that they do all their ultra violence at night hopped up on milk+ but during the day do they do the same stuff what do they do?
This always really confuses me, because Game of Thrones has a lot more rape and gratuitous violence than ACO, and its spread over many more hours. And I'd say its a lot more respectful about these topics, showing them as horrifying and extremely disturbing like in real life, instead of weirdly male-gazey and "titillating" like in GoT. I just don't get the disconnect.
who would yall want to see in the cast of this if it was announced and who do you think would be the best director today for it
I have a thesis for my English exam at my college where I have to make an analogy between 2 books, linking with an idea of one theme and a clockwork orange is my favorite book; naturally I wanted to make the analogy between Alex's addiction of violence between Mark Rentons to heroin in trainspotting, however I wasn't sure if it could be classified as an actual addiction at all? Could anyone help? Thank you!
1.) He looks like the guy to call a girl broad or toots.
2.) Breaks shit for fun 100%.
3.) Besides chewing gum he probably likes gummy worms, he also looks like the guy to enjoy coke or cherry/ regular Pepsi.
4.) He sometimes uses a curling iron to make his curls a little tighter and sometimes threatens Alex he’ll shove it in his ass. I don’t know why i imagined this but it’s funny and it seems fitting.
5.) He looks like a guy who would give a slightly drooling sloppy kiss
These are all my head-cannons for him so far, i hope you all enjoyed them, please feel free to list yours down below.
