TL;DR at the end
For context, I'm 26F. I met a guy (28M) who's a friend of my colleague. I've never been in a relationship/date. I've just had occasional crushes that'd fade out within a couple of weeks. I had a crush on this guy as well and it turned out to be mutual. So when he asked me out for a movie, I was okay with it and decided to give it a try.
We went to a mall, had lunch, watched the movie, talked a bit after the movie and then went to dinner. I paid for all of it including the movie ticket, popcorn and mall parking charges. When we were about to leave, I asked him if he wanted to drive my scooty. He said that he won't drive since he doesn't know the exit route. This might seem okay, but it seemed kind of disappointing for me. Not a big deal though.
After 3-4 days, we were out with my colleague to watch another movie at the same mall. He drove her scooty while we were leaving the mall. He still didn't know the exit route and went on a wrong way. But it annoyed me that while I was driving my scooty, he was driving with my colleague. And next, when we were planning our return, I noticed that my colleague gave him 600 rupees to book an auto and go home. I had a talk with her the next day regarding his financial situation. Here's how it went:
He earns around 22k per month but barely manages his expenses within that. He borrows about 2-3k from my colleague every month and never returns it back. He had an idea of buying refurbished phones and reselling them. So he borrowed money from my colleague while buying a phone and returned the amount after reselling them. It was fine until one phone that costed about 30k couldn't be sold. So, he never returned that money. Nobody asks him to pay up when they go on a tour. Even for the date, his friends offered money so that he could spend money for food and tickets. I felt like they are keeping him away from the reality of his financial situation. If they had limited the amount of support, maybe he would've tried to move to a better paying job. Or at least, try to maintain a budget. My colleague said that since they all earn well, there's no need for him to return the money that they lend. He's their friend. If he can't afford tours, they can't tell him not to come. So they're okay with spending money for him. She added that if they didn't lend him money, he'd end up asking someone else and that it was better this way.
I still feel like they're spoiling him. Needless to say, my crush faded and there were no more dates. I was surprised to see such friendships and wanted to know if this is encouraged in other friend groups as well.
TL;DR : A guy I went on a date with is financially very dependent on his friend group. Since they earn well, they keep lending money to him and he never returns to any of them. I need to know if this is common in other friend groups.
Basically i just wanted to know people preferences when it comes to cakes, bakery items and stuff Comment down ur views
Hi I'll be in Chennai for the month of December and looking for a decent, neat service apartment around Mylapore, West Mambalam or T Nagar... Let me know. Duration is approx 1 month
Hello makkale, I’m 27, having a tough time with friendships, since most friends have "settled" in the last year or two. We don't meet and hang out like we used to and the sadder part is, even when we do, it ain't the same 🥲 but aanywayy
I'm trying to make the best of this solo time! Instead of just sulking, I poured time into career growth and recently got my CISA certification But, of course, the loneliness didn’t magically disappear.
So I started taking myself out on solo dates:
Explored the Birla Planetarium, checked out Marine Kingdom, drive aimlessly around the city every other weekend , hit Bessy beach for some alone time and learnt the broken bridge is not as picturesque as people make them look in photos 😆
I also took my mom out on joy rides, we'd go to Korean supermarkets together and then get Ice cream.
Even went solo to malls and movies.
Now, I’m out of ideas, and honestly, the loneliness is creeping back in. Any suggestions for fun solo activities in Chennai? Or, if you’ve found good ways to meet like-minded people here, please share the magic!
I love aquariums, live music, pottery, I'm terrible at art but am open to activites. Tried some fitness related activities too but hahahahahaha gave up soon enough. Lmk!
Looking for some old-school football jerseys in Chennai. Not the new ones, but like vintage/classic stuff. Anyone got any good spots to check out?
Appreciate it! 🙌
Hi all. This post is about if anyone knew anything we could do about unused tablets that has long expiry time period.
My FIL was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer this September. We met many doctors since most of them gave us no hope. One of the doctors had prescribed a list of cancer tablets (which is very expensive). We got the tablets but unfortunately before we could start any treatment or tablets my FIL passed away 10 days ago.
We tried to return the tablets in the pharmacy but they said they ordered it specifically for us and hence cannot be returned.
The tablets are untouched, has three years of expiry dates. We do not know what to do with that. Can anyone advise what can be done with these tablets?
As per the pharmacist, we cannot give it to anyone in our situation since different doctors may refer different medication and in this case like life and death, people wouldn’t choose tablets that are already brought by someone.
Kindly help!
This morning, I was at the beach alone to watch the sunrise and spend some time with myself. I got there around 6 a.m. and stayed for an hour, just people watching, lost in my own thoughts and listening to some music. Ofcourse there were groups of friends and families having fun, and a gang of guys and girls near me playing in the water. They probably thought I looked sad sitting by myself. While I was getting up to leave, one of the guys ran to me to ask if I was okay and offered me to join them. I'm guessing I might've appeared suicidal lol. It was a sweet gesture though, looking out for people like that.
Have you ever had an experience like this?
Hey guys, I hope you all are well
I have recently shifted to chennai a month back and am staying in a apartment cum PG near wipro street.
I actually received electricity bill for last month and it is crazy high. I asked my caretaker about per unity cost, according to him it is 14 rupees per unit.
I just wanted to ask you what is the actually rate and if it varies from place to place in chennai itself ?
I stay in Sholinganallur.
Thank you.
Ecr is/was again blocked today. Some from akkarai and all from mgm
This was due to decathlon run.
Most of the folk blocked were people going for their work and some leisure riders
I mean isn't super dumb to stop people from going to work because some one wants to run a marathon?
Can't seprate tracks be organised for marathons. Or atleast one side of the road could have been allowed
Ps: I am also a cyclist and i understand the importance of sports in cities
But Livelihood>> other needs
Also the anger people have due to this will some day be let out on some innocent athelete
A group of 5 people seeks a clean and well-maintained flat. We prioritize cleanliness and timely rent payments. Please DM me if you know of any available options. (We all are students).
So I wear a 52 inch shirt, while I get my daily driver shirts and T-shirts easily, Football jerseys are super elusive. I'd take anything from actual jerseys to first copies to FCB branded shirts. One requirement: must be of my size!
Any help would be super helpful!
(Scoured the usual places, both online and otherwise. No use.)
I seem to have a thing for fancy or posh things and feel more motivated in those places. Be it fancy gyms or coffee shops, co-working places, shopping streets, malls, playgrounds or clubs or apartment complexes. What are such fancy places in and around chennai?
I went to pondicherry recently..
I saw one women in street looked like a street vendor..we noticed that she was following us for sometime.
And then she approached us asked if one of us can give her our mobile..she didn't tell any reason..looked like she was about to run and in a hurry..we got alert and just walked away.. She followed us even after this...and we went into a cafe and then she left us..not sure why she did that..very weird..
Another incident where were all sitting inside our car, driver had left to buy something A guy who looked like a begger...knocked on all windows and was asking for money to each one of us..he kept on knocking for 15 mins..we didn't get down as he looked scary...our driver came and started scolding him..omg he was very rude...he was like "idhungalalam engachu kondu poi kavuthi vitru..saagatum and all"..like we owe him money..the sheer audacity!!!
I have been to few tourist places and this one was not very safe!
Hi everyone! 👋 I'm currently working on a case study for my MBA entrepreneurship class, focusing on consumer preferences in the tea beverages. As part of the project, I’ve created a short survey to gather insights, and I’d be incredibly grateful if you could take a few minutes to fill it out!
The survey is completely anonymous and should take about 5-7 minutes. Your responses will help me understand consumer behavior better and refine my project. Thank you so much for your support! 🙏
PS: We are also providing amazon coupon of 100rs for the selected people.

About a week ago, I was sitting near a bus stop, drinking my juice, when a really nice dressed woman approached me. She was wearing a blue dress and carrying a nice handbag, looking like someone who would work in a corporate setting. She came up and asked me for 100 rupees because her bank account had been locked ( I’m not sure if she said her account was locked or if she just couldn’t access it. i dont remember it that clearly) and she couldn’t get home. She also had a nice phone with her.
I told her I didn’t have any cash, and then she asked if I could send it via GPay, promising to pay me back tomorrow. I almost went ahead and did it—it was only 100 rupees—but something felt off. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing it, and she left. I could see on her face she was a bit embarrassed. I also felt strange. If her bank account was really locked and she was in the city, why not just call a friend to pick her up or something?
I’m not sure, but it felt like a scam attempt. I see people with nothing almost every day, and I try to help when I can, but this situation just didn’t sit right. Has anyone else had a similar experience, or maybe she really just needed a bus ticket home and I was being a huge jerk?
btw she spoke only english not tamil.
So, for past few months, whenever some somebyte goes into trend which involves glow up or transformation, in recent days its "ada irunga bhai" with before and after transformation. You get the point. Its just a medium to share their glowups.
But, I keep seeing this particular set of reels, especially among tamil community section of reels where in pre-glow up, they show their photos where women are super dark, with improper teeth and you know, bad angles in their 'college' days and in their post glowup, they look white and glowing? I check their page and they look like nothing in past photos.
Now, you can change your alignment of teeth with braces, you can find the right style of your hair and dress for you, you can take better pictures with proper lightening, but how the fuck do these particular women literally change their entire skin tone from complete dark to complete white and glowing? The worse part is they act in the comments like its a 'secret skincare routine' and 'special diet'.
Are these women bleaching their skin or something? I'm confused. I'm not being racist here but what defines glowup here exactly? changing of skintones? I can share the link but I don't want to send hate to that said creators.
I am looking to buy a ECE 22.06 certified helmet here. Please suggest any genuine shops where we can get authentic helmets with good deals. TIA
Zing Bus sleeper, starting from Siruseri.
Got "freereturn" ticket as a offer when booking to chennai. Well, it's not free - i had to pay 400 extra the supposedly price without offer.
I am staying for few more days so I have this ticket to give to anybody who is yet to make their booking.
Guys, how's your mid 20's..I'm on my mid 20's and becoming more accountable now a days.. Badly wanted to stick to my discipline everywhere, from home to road. So, I moved to Japan over a month ago, and lately, I’ve been getting these automated calls from FedEx. The message is like:
"My parcel has been returned for <inaudible> reason, press 1 for <inaudible> blah blah blah."
Here’s the thing: I’ve never used FedEx, so why am I getting these mysterious calls about a “returned parcel”? 🤔
I decided to play detective and used Truecaller to check the caller’s ID—got a screenshot of it below. Is this some new scam I haven’t heard of, or is FedEx just doing some weird marketing I don’t know about?
Anyone else gotten calls like this?

Where the duck do people keep their ducking brains when they go out on the road, every single idiot, the pedestrian, the people riding cycles, the people in cars and bikes and every other idiots. People park everywhere like they own the roads. My house is in a really wide road with cars parked on both the sides all the time and today a biker stopped in the middle of the ducking road to attend a ducking call and a car came on the opposite side while I had to wait for him to move even after honking so many times. Everyone has those bright ducking headlights and drive with high beam on. I just wanna plow through all these idiots. I don't think I can drive here anymore. I really hate these dimwit idiot people. When will people stop thinking about other drivers, and not act like they own the city roads. Our people really lack any amount of civic sense. I really lost hope today when I came back home and saw some ducking idiot had parked his bike in front of my car parking. I just wanted to hit the gas and destroy that bike.
TLDR: people on the roads are ducking idiots.
Tomorrow, My petrors are leaving on a long trip in car with a driver. I couldn't go along with them
My mom likes to listen to songs, she just said "Nee vantha paatu aachi poduva, ilana car ae amaithiyaa irkum" nu. I want to play music in car from remote. I might do this by doing a Spotify party from my Mom's mobile. But these are too tech ish.
Now, I just want to copy some good songs in a pendrive and let them use it. On googling, I found I need to do dowload albums individually and then collage.
Is there any other drive links? or any discography kinda things, So I can download some compiled hit songs ?
