Right now; I have an old 1999 Chevy K1500, currently it has the 5.7L Vortec V8 in it, I’m planning on making it a work truck which will have a decently heavy workshop on the back. I’ve seen that I have room for a super charger, and a turbo.
I was hoping that this community could help me fool proof the build so I don’t blow the engine. Thank you!!
So I am trying to add my own switch to my 2007 Infiniti G35X which connects to the fuse box and will be a switch to turn on and off my AWD fuse. I have this empty button right here, so I plan on running the wire through the firewall to this spot right here. What would be the steps to take out this plastic cover, and then fit the new piece into it and mount it so that it stays in place. What would I need to buy in order to mount my switch in place?
Me and a buddy of mine are installing an eBay exhaust kit for his 2007 Honda Accord sedan with the 3.0L J-series V6. The problem we're having is that the 3-bolt flange off of the stock catalytic converter is a 2.5", and the connecting pipe is a 2.25" 3-bolt flange. Does anybody know of an adapter out there? I can't seem to find one. Perhaps I'm not using the right verbiage. We already have the rest of the exhaust system on the vehicle. We're just trying to find a way to fit this last piece on without having to cut or weld hopefully.
Im thinking about buying an online kit for keyless car entry and engine start. What are your expiriances with that, is it worth it?
Saw this girl using this fabric on her an and b pillar with dragons on it that are kind of transparent and I cannot find the fabric she used. I’ve looked everywhere and all I’m getting is bad fabric that looks super low quality and doesn’t even look good. If anyone has anything similar, please let me know!
Hello, I was wondering If I could get advice on how to start modding my car and where to purchase them. Right now my car is a sonic grey color with black rims. I haven't started anything but I'd like advice. Thank you!
Also, is there any way to make my car sound a bit louder
So I bought a 99 Toyota corolla 5 speed manual specifically to turn it into a sleeper. I already have my Daily driver that I use for work and everything else but I seen it for 1200 with only 180k miles I couldn't pass it up. The issue is IDK what motors, trannys, or drivelines are compatible and I really can't find any info online I've already checked. I'm basically wanting to put a bigger motor in, put a 6 speed tranny in, and convert it to awd. I know it won't be worth it in the long run but I mean this is gonna be my sleeper for a long time and I kinda wanna make the most of underneath and under the hood. I might do interior and exterior when I'm done but I havent decides yet. Any recommendations??
I’m hoping to find a lot of exterior parts like my headlights a rear lights, front lip, wide body, etc. I’ve had this car for about a year now and I want to do some fun things with it but I’m not super sure where to start
Tryna push 300bhp
Long story short, i put these decals on when i was 16, they looked cool. I dont wanna rice out my car and also because i like going to the meets (im a photographer). Should i get rid of the stickers if they look too ricey? I honestly dont think they look too bad but obviously i need someone else’s perspective. Also what other mods can i do to this car? (These 2 stickers are the only stickers on my car)
Hello guys, first of all sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language
I'm going straight to the point, I bought a Fiat Punto mk2 (just like the one on the photo) with the objective of making it awesome but the car is ugly as shit (in my opinion)
What do you think I should do to it?
It's an 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine (that it's pretty funny because it's an 16v diesel and also reliable)
I'll left the photos from the inside and outside of a car that is equal to mine
if i purchase a mid can i take it to a mechanic to put it on or somebody like that? im scared i will mess it up. I got smoke light and lower coils
i bought a new exhaust system and it rattles after i take it for a few pulls just wondering if thats normal? usually i comes and goes when it gets hotter. i jnow its a tight-ish fit but anyway around the rattling?
for reference its an Lexus IS350 2014 with an Xforce Exhaust with VAREX controller
Hi all, I’m currently in the process of trying to make my car sound deeper/ have a lower tone when reviving and speeding. For context I have a 2021 Avalon TRD which comes with sport exhaust. I got a resonator delete to make it sound more aggressive and am now considering a cold air intake. While I like the sound, I want something that sounds deeper and not louder if that make sense. What mods would the community recommend?
Hey, I am new to the mod community and this might be a weird one, but I have a 2011 Ford Flex Limited and I love the car so I thought about making it a bit more fun. I don't want to break the bank or anything over the top I am just looking for ideas and suggestions for the future.
I currently own a 1995 Camry LE with the 1MZ-FE engine (3.0L V6). It's pretty high mileage, at around 414k km or 666k miles. Been wanting to either rebuild or drop in a new engine and since recently the trans blew, I feel like it'd be a good time to do it now. Any suggestions on the engines? Want to keep it FWD and hopefully more fuel efficient than the 1MZ-FE.
So what we did is got piston #1 tdc forgetting that there is 2 strokes for tdc. The cam gear arrow was pointing straight up. We marked the timing chain link that was on the top with the arrow pointing up. (We did this with the engine still in the car without removing or loosing the oil pump.) I know we should’ve turned it over to make it tdc on exhaust but we didn’t. took the cam out and put the new one in anyway. We recognized were the pin was in on the cam.( it was facing left or 9 o clock from looking at it straight on. I have seen in videos if the cam is tdc exhaust stroke the cam pin is on the right and the phaser arrow pointing down) we put the cam back in were it was when we took the old one out. From my thinking/understanding, doesn’t the crank spin 1 time for every 2 rotations of the cam. So either tdc would put the crank in the right spot. Where the cam pin would either be on the left (9 o clock) or the right (3 o clock). if we put the cam and the cam phaser with the arrow pointing up, back exactly where they were, wouldn’t the car be in time? Or should we just move the cam dowel to the opposite side at the 3 o clock position. Which is the other stroke, So that the arrow would be pointing down at the crank dot.
Modifying an early 289
I have a ‘67 Mustang that originally had a straight 6 but now has a 289 from a ‘65. I did all the body work, welding, and getting the engine running better with 145 compression on all cylinders (+/- 5). Only mods are true duel exhaust (H pipe, stock headers), 4 barrel carb 600, got rid of points for electronic ignition, hipo intake manifold.
I’m sure there are thousands of posts and forums about increasing power in these SBFs. I read through dozens of them already. I’m just a bit confused because I heard the early 289s aren’t as mod friendly with less aftermarket head options.
I really, really want to be in the 300-350hp range at the flywheel and not sacrifice reliability. I have a moderately fresh built c4 with a shift kit that I think can handle that range. Any tips to hit that number? Or links to other forums? Again, apologies that this is probably the millionth time someone asked a similar question.
There’s this really specific Underglow that I saw on a video on Instagram and I just absolutely have to have it. I can’t find the video and no matter what I search I can’t find it but the best description I can come up for it is a kind of lightning pattern. It would flash white under different parts of the car like how lightning would do in a storm and it was just amazing. If anyone know what it might be and where I can find it, please let me know 🙏
I am currently designing a RGB controller for controlling aftermarket RGB products, and I need to decide what connector type to put on the board. What is the most common connector type used for this application?
So I’m looking to:
Plastidip the chrome black
Keep the “A” red (mask it off)
Plastidip the “Spec” red.
Any easy ways? Or do I need to mask off “A”, spray the whole thing black, mask off everything but “spec” and then spray that red?
I’ve never modified any cars, but recently was finding interest in the topic.
Is an XJ Cherokee Sport a good/easy first mod?
should i just send it to a garage and let them do the work for me? if not, how do I learn?
