Question about IL House Bill 4299.

"Provides that the production or possession of not more than 5 cannabis sativa** plants is a petty offense with a fine not exceeding $100 (rather than a Class A misdemeanor). Provides that the production or possession of more than 5 but not more than 20 cannabis sativa plants is a Class A misdemeanor (rather th*an a Class 4 felony)."

I take this amendment to mean that if I am in possession of any variety of cannabis other than sativa (Indica, Hybrid, Ruderalis, and possibly industrial hemp) the punishment will remain the same as it was under the original Cannabis Control Act. Why would it Sariva be treated separately from the other forms of the plant?

Summary Request List

I created this post to track summary requests. Please feel free to add or complete requests. Requests should simply contain the url to the doc's comments on /r/CannabisDocs (not the url to the actual doc location). See examples below. If you would like to help improve Cannabis literacy by completing summary requests, make sure you read and follow the [SUMMARY GUIDELINES] (/r/CannabisDocs/wiki/guidelines-summary), and comment below on any requests that you complete so that we can keep this list updated. Periodically, the mods will verify completed requests and address problems with them, such as poorly written or misleading summaries.

[HERE] (/r/CannabisDocs/comments/1x7f78/summary_request_list/cf8ra2a) is a full request example from start to finish.

Multireddit: /m/TreeKnowledge

Hello, /r/CannabisDocs,

I'm a big fan of what you're trying to do here. These sort of primary sources are a wonderful and useful resource and I am glad that this subreddit has been going so well thus far.

At the moment, I'm working on putting together a multireddit that can serve as a hub for serious discussion and analysis of the the plant we all enjoy. This multireddit will be available in the /r/trees sidebar as well as one other cannabis related subreddits. In addition to just setting up a viable multireddit, I would also like to bring some awareness to this side of the cannabis community on Reddit; there are plenty of users interested in what you have to offer that currently don't know it's around.

I am posting here to look for suggestions for subreddits that should be added to the multireddit or just general feedback on the idea. If you know of any subreddits that you should be included, feel free to point it out in the comments below.

Thanks,

/u/Tyzon05

Welcome to /r/CannabisDocs

#Welcome to /r/CannabisDocs!

The primary goal here is to compile a reddit-style database of Cannabis-related documents (here and forever after "docs"), including links to the original docs and summaries of them for those of us without access. This should be thought of and treated as a bibliography of primary sources of Cannabis information, with all the benefits of upvoting and commenting. Considering that information about Cannabis is often misrepresented by media and other voices in our communities, this subreddit could prove extremely useful for ongoing discussions of industrial, medical, and recreational Cannabis use.

/r/CannabisDocs is still in its infancy and it will certainly evolve quite a bit in the coming weeks and months. I ([pauldfoster] (/u/pauldfoster)) will be the sole moderator until I can outline the overall plan for /r/CannabisDocs in the wiki [here] (/r/CannabisDocs/wiki/index). Once that is complete, I will start adding other moderators as needed, but will remain as the primary moderator. I would like to think of myself as the curator here - I will try my best to improve both the quantity and quality of posts to this subreddit. I am currently in graduate school and working on my dissertation, so please be patient with this process - it may take a day or so for responses from me or for updates to occur. This includes submission approvals and other moderator responsibilities.

If you are interested in helping to build this subreddit, you can do that in several ways right now:

  • (1) share it with your friends to help its exposure

  • (2) let us know how it could be improved, either in a text post, comment, or private message

  • (3) submit a link to a Cannabis doc; see [SUBMISSION GUIDELINES] (/r/CannabisDocs/wiki/guidelines)

  • (4) write a summary of an existing doc; see [SUMMARY GUIDELINES] (/r/CannabisDocs/wiki/guidelines-summary) and [SUMMARY REQUESTS] (/r/CannabisDocs/comments/1x7f78/summary_request_list/)

Help improve Cannabis literacy today!
