Planning to buy Camtasia Perpetual license, So I have a few questions beforehand...

If I'll buy the Perpetual license right now, which Camtasia Version will I get?

If I buy the Perpetual license for education, Will It get terminated after my college will be over?

Is there's any limitation (in terms of Features) in Perpetual license for education compared to Perpetual license for education?

I also noticed there's something called "Yearly Maintenance Fee" to get latest version and changes. But is it mandatory? What if i don't want to get latest version, Can I opt out of it?

If yes, can I skip 1-2 years in case there's no major update, but then if there's a major update in the 3rd year, can I just pay the yearly maintenance fee to access new changes?

Just finish to record one hour video, to open it in Camtasia and see that first the video and audio are split. Something that I didn't do and on top of that the audio is longer then the video, so doesn't syn. What the hell is happening here and how I solve it?

Just mucking around making YouTube videos, and I use Camtasia at work so iknow how good it is. The licensing is much more expensive than I'm willing to pay for occasional home use.

Hi, novice YouTuber here, and I love Camtasia for how intuitive it is to work with for the type of content I make (how to videos).

Today I signed up to motion array as I wanted access to the music as well as the motion graphics, specifically the transitions.

I’ve run into two issues:

1. The audio tracks I’ve imported from motion array are making clicking sounds at random points. Does anyone know how to fix this?

2. I had to use a work around for the transitions by grouping the two clips I wanted it between and placing it as an overlay video. It works, but I was hoping they’d import as transitions rather than movies.

Guessing Camtasia has its limitations given its mostly for presentation type work?

I just added an 800 MB MOV file (a 4K video from my iPhone) to my Camtasia project, but it’s making the UI unresponsive. I’m using a powerful Windows 11 PC with 32 GB of RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, and a Radeon RX 6700 graphics card (16GB). Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can load the clip to my timeline? I use a lot of video recorded from an iPhone at 4k 30fps in H265 HEVC format, but am experiencing crashes when I try to save in Camtasia. (autosave somehow works fine!)

I'm currently using 2024.1.3. On the previous version it was crashing just during normal edits.

Anyone facing similar crashes or having luck with iOS H265 videos?

I've sent in support requests, but they keep telling me it's due to the H265 format, and then directing to their website where it says H265 is in fact supported. They also suggest using handbrake to reformat the videos. Handbrake actually messes up the color profiles no matter what I try (whites get blown out), but using quick export in Resolve can convert without any issues. However, I'd very much prefer not to spend the time converting or store the extra videos.

I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 video card and i7-8700 3.2GHz cpu.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone might be having the same problem as me - or, better, if anyone knows how to resolve this. This issue has persisted for me since Camtasia 2022.

This issue does not affect every .mp4 file I import into Camtasia, but when it does, it's devastating to my workflow, and renders it impossible to complete my edit.

Sometimes, when I import a .mp4 video file into Camtasia, then click and drag the playhead right or left along the length of the video, the media will hide itself. It's especially common when I drag the playhead to the left. It will remain hidden indefinitely until I happen to drag it over an arbitrary part of the video, where it will reappear - but ONLY that part of the video will be visible. If a part of the video is rendered invisible by dragging the playhead, it will remain this way, making it impossible to see what I'm working on. This is causing me huge delays in my work, unfortunately.

Is TechSmith aware of thise software-breaking bug? Does anyone have a solution? I have already tried changing between all of the different Hardware Acceleration options, and updated the software just today.

Reverted back to 2018 and im so satisfied with how smooth the app is runing , 2024 is a no no for me im laggy slugish what ever ... invest on optimising your app , damn how can this app fail to keep smooth work with just 1 wav audio file that i was cutting multiple times and every time i cut it slows even more sheesh ...

2018 works great just start again working from it and focuse on optimising it .

The fact that Snagit has no ASIO driver support (professional sound driver) means it is effectively useless in any professional environment or for anyone using pro audio interfaces.

Please add ASIO support. This is long overdue.

I am using Camtasia Studio 8.6.0 (Build 2079) - Mar 18 2016.
I recently recorded my screen to capture a 2 hour Zoom meeting.
I ran a quick test record to verify it was picking up my PC audio and it was.
Once the longer Zoom recording was complete I have an audio & video track, but the audio appears to be empty.

Debugging:

• I have used Handbrake to verify there is only 1 audio track associated with the .TREC file.

• When imported into Camtasia Studio the audio channel does not visually indicate any peaks or troughs, it's just blank.

• I have scaled up the audio to 400%, there is nothing.

• I know there was audio playing from my PC while the recording occurred.

• I have not been able to replicate this with later tests.

• I did a test screen recording with audio turned off and it did not include an audio track. (So it was not a case of me accidentally disabling the audio before clicking record. It seemingly was recording audio, which I know was playing, but the saved .TREC file did not capture any of it)

• Looked in C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\Temp for the recording temp file. Could not find anything. (Filtered by timestamp and file size)

If anyone has advice for how I can verify if the audio data exists in the file, or how I might else recover it, it would be appreciated.

Or potentially provide insight into what might have caused the issue in the first place as I would like to avoid this again in the future.

I’m coming to Camtasia from Adobe Premiere. I’m used to being able to use a key command to set an input and output in the timeline. Thus far, I’ve only been able to figure out dragging the red and green handles. Are there key commands for this or a way for me to map them?

Hi! I am using Camtasia 2023.3.18 on a M1 Mac (Sequoia 15.1). In the lower track window the space for every track is cut off as you can see in the attached image. Is this a bug or do I have somehow broken the settings?

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone had any tips or a link to a video to face swap? I am trying to add a picture of swap someone’s face to a video clip or movie scene.

It has been awhile since I used markers to make a table of contents. In older versions I remember a button or something that said display the table at the start of the video.BUT I don't see that in Camtasia 2024.1.2 on Win 11. Did Techsmith do away with that in this version or they hid it someplace?

Has anybody tried running Camtasia in one of the new Copilot+PCs with the Snapdragon X chip?

I know there is no arm-native version of Camtasia yet, but I was wondering if at least it could be emulated, and if so how well it runs.

I'm a bit confused by the feature set explained on their pricing page.

Camatasia Essentials doesn't seem to include Text-based video editing, but Camtasia Create does... ? But isn't the Create Bundle just Camtasia + Audiate? Why would adding an audio editor product enable text-based video editing?

In particular, I'd really like the buy the Camtasia perpetual license and wondering if it will include text-based video editing. Thanks!

Hello, I want the audio visualizer to visualize only the speaker’s voice on Track 2.

When the speaker is silent, I want the audio visualizer to stop animating, even though there is background music playing on Track 3.

Currently it visualizes the audio for both the speech and music tracks. Is there any way to “stick” it to only one audio track? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I use Camtasia for all of my created videos, but lately it seems like I'm starting to have problems finding good background music, or ones I haven't already used. I already have the Premium Assets content also, but was wondering where others go to get additional royalty-free background music? And can it be used in Camtasia as well. I am taking a graduate class that requires using Camtasia. I checked out the TechSmith site and noticed that there are different versions. I am using it for educational purposes but I am an art teacher so would the create version have more artsy options? Is the Camtasia for Edu is too basic?

I would love to be able to do creative things and would like to know if anyone has a preference of Pro, Create or Basic and what are the advantages for getting the more expensive package.

Hi! I've been using NVIDIA Broadcast to apply some filters (such as the eye-gaze correction) on my webcam and it has been working fine with Camtasia for quite some time. I started getting error message "An error occurred with the camera: Failed to Add Video Sampler" a few weeks ago when selecting the virtual NVIDIA Broadcast webcam, so I started investigating.

Seems like it may be due to an error with Windows 11 24H2, but I'm not a 100% sure. I download some NVIDIA

I know that the latest Win11 update has implemented some changes regarding Webcams (simultanious use implementations) and that it's buggy.Broadcast hotfixes for Win 11 24H2 and the virtual Webcam is working for every application - but for Camtasia.

I just wanted ask the crowd here if anyone is using NVIDIA Broadcast by any chance and has also been getting errors recently. If there is another person with a similar setup and getting the same errors, at least I'll know where the issues may come from and will wait for Win11 Updates.
