Took mine apart to do a check up as I was having a ton of blade wobble when open, turned out to be the crap Teflon washers for the pivot got rubbed down to next to nothing and 1/4 of one was completely gone. Needless to say they are a bit too worn to get any kind of accurate measurement from.
My question is does anyone happen to know what size washer is supposed to be in there or what size it can be up to? Having a really rough time finding any of the info to figure out what would work in their place size wise.
Don't have a micromiter to see what the pivot size is either so even that info would be enormously helpful.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Need a new EDC
Hello, so I'm 19 and looking for a solid work knife. I work in a grocery store and my box cutter does the trick 99% of the time but there the 1% and who doesn't like an extra blade on them let's be real lol. I had a mini praxis from civivi and it was the Damascus and wood scales one. Lost it at work. Super bummed about it and havnt brought myself to get another knife or which to get. Won't be getting one that nice again until I build up a better collection of beaters. Looking for something in the $25 range ideally
I'm looking for recommendations on the best pocket-sized knife sharpeners. Price matters of course, but I'm interested in a product that works really well.
Does anyone know where I can find a budget version of

$168 seems crazy for a small knife, with 12c27 steel
This is just the start to my collection. Top to bottom, Kershaw Bel Air, Swisstech Gerundet, CJRB Hectare Alt, CJRB Pyrite, CJRB Pyrite Light, Lighting Elite OTF, Civivi Vision FG, Ganzo Firebird FH41.
Bestech Strelit. Black G10. Satin Magnacut blade. This thing is silly but I have no regrets. $78 bucks.
Been a long time budget knife carrier, definitely put my knives to good use and can appreciate a well made l, long lasting knife even if it's not "buttery smooth" or has cool materials. Huge fan of the OKC Rat 1, it has served me well but doesn't have much of a cool factor.
Awhile ago I bought a QSP Parrot as a fancy gift to myself and was underwhelmed. It's entirely possible that the size/shape/ergonomics were not for me, but it also just felt a bit like a cheap knife.
I must admit, I received a Petrified Fish Bunta about a week ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. Very smooth deployment, awesome color, great blade shape and size. I am very pleased with it and will probably be buying more from this brand.
Buck Bantam 285! I like that is USA made, rather lightweight too. Also razor sharp out the box 🔪
Ganzo G768, these things are becoming an addiction at these prices. Insanely fidgety with amazing action. The older “G lock” models in 440c while very good have stiff springs and run on washers. This D2 model has bearings and the lock detect is way smoother. I consider it a massive steal for $26.
I really like the black one , the rubber grip is great
My daily is a CIVIVi Pintail I got on sale a 1/2 a year ago. I like the s35vn steel. Looking for something similar with a deep carry style clip in the sub $85 range.
What should I look at?
Hi,
I just got myself a new Olfa Box cutter. When I slide out the blade it catches on the metal rail right as the end.
Is this a feature or a fault? Thanks.
Just got this baby from Amazon today. Didn't realize it was an assisted open but I'm OK with that. Great beater knife for $11. Solid deployment and lockup. This makes 6 Ganzo blades for me. They keep making them and I'll keep buying them. Highly recommended!!
Browsing my local Lowe’s and found this kobalt liner lock with D2 steel for $14.99. Anyone know anything about these?
Cold Steel mini tac bowie is awesome! Was on sale for $15
Had a Qubit delivered a last week. Overall I like the knife. Solid aluminum construction, feels good in the hand, it’s nice and fidgety, and the bottle opener works well enough. First Impressions were ~7/10.
I made a Costco run and came home with a ton of cardboard, as is tradition when visiting the Land of Kirk. No problem; I get the Qubit out and start the cutting. First few swipes were great, it was very slicey. Then it just… wasn’t. After about 20 cuts or so it got more and more difficult to push through cardboard. I grabbed my CJRB Pyrite Light and found that it was doing a MUCH better job. Cut after cut, it was just easier with the Pyrite Light. I was pretty surprised.
I’m fairly new to this hobby in general, but I assumed that 1.) the Qubit would have better quality steel and 2.) would do better at simple tasks like cutting cardboard. Qubit: 4/10 at actually cutting things.
Maybe I got a bad Qubit. Maybe I got a great Pyrite. 🤷🏼♂️ Thoughts?
