10 yrs of heavy duty use and she finally broke today
This was my grail when I bought it for my birthday (also as a gift for my son being born) and all I can say is that this thing is the real deal. She’s never slowed down even a bit. I install and service wireless internet in the Texas highland lakes where it’s hot, humid as all hell, and sweaty in my pockets for most of the year. She’s held up beautifully. If you want an actually nice show piece that doubles as a work knife and gains beauty as it is used… this is your ticket. still the best detent I have ever experienced to this day even after trying hundreds of knives
Easily found under $30, the OKC 'Randall Adventure Training II' is one of the best pound for pound purchases in tools. A simple, well done, folding knife from Taiwan with a 3 inch Japanese AUS 8 steel blade. Think of it as a perfect intro companion for light to moderate duty, with the option of shifting heavy duty to it's partner, the OKC RAT I, which is a little larger but similarly strong as a tool.
I have a home and work RAT II. Have given them to coworkers, hockey team mates, little cousins and kiddos I mentor, equipped a whole squad, for less than the price of a Benchmark. Excellent knife for EDC/any role.
