Where are the queer girls getting their hair done? My stylist does an amazing job! but, when I bring inspo pics I usually don't get exactly that even though it's something that still looks nice. Kind of looking to try somewhere new, because there's absolutely no way I have the skills to do my own hair 😅 thanks for any recommendations! 💕
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a high-end brewery in the Bucks or Montgomery County area. I've been to several already, but the only one that stood out to me so far was Warwick Farm Brewing—it was decent, but I’m hoping to find something even better. For reference, my go-to beer is Heady Topper from The Alchemist (American Double IPA | 8% ABV), so I’m definitely into well-crafted IPAs with bold flavors. Since I’m relatively new to the area, I’d love to hear your recommendations! Where should I check out next? 🍻 Thanks in advance!
please remove if not allowed I’m currently working at an amazing new child care facility in Doylestown, which opened just last year, and we’re looking to expand our team! We have full- or part-time positions available for Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Resource Teachers.
If you’re passionate about working with children and creating a positive, engaging environment where they can learn and grow, we’d love to have you join us. It’s a wonderful place to be a part of, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education.
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, feel free to reach out! 💖
We just got our bill and the premium increase is greater than 60%. I reviewed a posting on this subreddit from 3 months ago where the trend seemed to have been around 20% which is roughly what I expected. So I wondered whether what we're seeing is abnormal or others are also impacted. For the record, we have insured the same home for six years without making any claims.
EDIT: Followed the advice to shop around. From $6600 I now have an equal insurance premium for $1400. I don't understand how that is even possible. But there you go. Loyalty is obviously not rewarded. Someone said they shop around each year, that is obviously a very savvy person.
Hi All, Kiddo is interested in karate. Before we dive head first into anything, I was hoping to find out the average cost per month for these classes. Looking at East West Karate as it’s pretty local and kiddo has friends there. I understand it can be expensive and likely up front costs for the uniform, etc. I’m trying to avoid having to fill out an online form and be hounded with calls and emails if we decide on something else. Thank you!
I hate using the insulting word "bum" when its applied to the homeless but this is what this guy was called by almost everyone that knew of him. He was friendly that i do remember. And his clothes and hat are vivid still in my memory.
So there is this legend around him that developed after he passed away.
BTW i think his first name was Richard? I may be wrong.
Anyway after he died stories came out that he was in fact extremely wealthy and had a few million in the local bank. I heard he had been in the finance world and had done good and then something happened in his life that caused him to take a "sabbatical" of sorts...which culminated in him quitting his career...and with only the clothes on his back he went off the grid and set up a tent in the woods that once existed at the 232/ Bustletin Pike intersection in Richboro.
Allegedly he left everything to a stunned family member who had no idea of his immense wealth....
Was this fact or fiction i do not know... Any of you guys remember this guy?
I'd love to find somewhere selling tickets (buffet/ open bar/ hell even just to reserve a table) just so I don't have to arrive at 4 pm and sit around for 3 hours. Anywhere in Bucks that's doing this?
This coming Monday I have a couple appointments in Doylestown that are a few hours apart. One ends probably around 12:30ish pm and the next one starts at 4:10pm. My husband and I were looking to have a nice lunch date in that time as an early Valentine's date since it's rare we're able to go out without our toddler. I was looking for any recommendations since nearly every "fancier" restaurant is closed on Mondays and the couple that are open, open at around 4. We've been to The Hattery (the nicest I could seem to find), and we really like it there, but we're interested in maybe trying something new! Any suggestions that are within a 20 minute drive of Downtown Doylestown? Thank you in advance!
Hi
Looking for recommendations on window installers. Or companies to avoid.
Thanks!
Anyone have any good recommendations for places to get salads in Bucks County? Just trying to eat healthier and finding it hard to find good places
Since you guys keep blowing my mind with answering / comtributing to my posts on here... i got another one. So in the early 1980s there was a horrible accident in Upper Southampton. A teenager (i think i remember correctly that he was 17 or 18) and his friends were hanging out beneath a bridge on Second Street Pike across the street from the Southampton Bowling alley and next to the former concrete / sand business (has a big tower and conveyor belt visible from 232) At the time Conrail owned the set of 2 tracks that ran beneath this bridge. I know this spot well as it continued to be a place kids would have bonfires / smoke weed / party / hook up up into the mid 1990s or so So we have the 232 bridge over the set of railroad tracks. So what happened was a kid was dared to walk on a high powered electric cable that was a few feet below the bridge roadway. This thick cable was attached to bridge and spanned entire length of the overpass before diverting off and connecting to the power line towers that ran along the rr tracks in both directions. So after climbing up and getting back onto Second Street Pike, he walked several yards onto the bridge and then insanely climbed the old wooden barricade on the bridge and lowered himself down until he was standing on the power cable. Then egged on by his friends below he begans slowly crossing the tracks on the cable, his hands above his head gripping the bridge bottom for balance. Halfway across he was electrocuted and ive heard so many versions over the years: his pants were engulfed in flames ; his entire body was lit up; only his head and hair caught fire and so on etc etc. What i do know is my elementary school the following monday had the entire school gather in the gym. We were told this kid, a former student at our school and now a hs student- had been electrocuted walking on this cable and caught fire before then falling the 30 or so feet to the rr tracks below. He didnt die but was in a coma at a trauma hospital and had 3rd degree burns as well as a broken pelvis, neck and various extremities. Then, it being a catholic school- we were made to pray for what seemed like hours. Later that week they had a drive or something to raise money for his med expenses. So my question: does anyone remember this or better yet know who the kid was and if he recovered etc? It def happened - story may have been exaggerated etc but a teenager def was almost killed walking on the power line. Sorry for the long winding and wordy post haha its been a story that ive often thought about over the years..
Does anyone know where I can donate books to a small organization? I don’t want to go through Goodwill, etc. and not the library donations. I reached out to some family shelters but they don’t take books. Thanks
Does anyone have any recommendations? I live in New Hope but willing to travel most anywhere in Bucks for the right place
With the threats of programs being shut off for vulnerable people, I have grave concerns for our communities basic needs being met. If there is anyone on Reddit that lives in the area that is unable to feed themselves or their family, I am happy to try to help you where I can. I am by no means rich but it makes me sick to see the lack of empathy for human life. I know the local pantries are already at capacity with keeping up with demand so I just want to help out fellow community members.
Please message me if need help. I will keep everything confidential and as anonymous as possible.
Edit* made it more vague so ya’ll can stop can complaining.
At a loss after my long-time stylist suddenly retired and the person they put me with at her salon isn't working out.
I turn to the collective wisdom of the group: Looking for a salon in Doylestown for women's short/precision cuts (and basic color). I've looked at a lot of options but most of their images are long hair. I'm a bit skittish of trying a place like that out due to my current... results. Doylestown preferably because I'm lazy and don't want to drive like I had been. Thank you!!!
26M looking to get into camping this year. Eastern Mountain Sports recently closed and so I’m wondering if there are any other local spots in the area to go check out and potentially purchase camping supplies.
I have some scars in trying to get rid of (or at the very least lighten) are there any decent places in the county and do you know any price ranges?
Any of you fine citizens remember this day in 1982?

I was 9 and in my dads car coming home to Upper Southampton after visiting my relatives in Olney. We were at the intersection of County Line and 232 when we saw the billowing black smoke and dozens of emergency vehicles heading towards the center of Southampton, near the OLGC church. My dad drove down to check it out and we parked in a shopping center (where pikes pub and southampton beverage is today) and walked the rest of the way. I remember cops screaming at all us spectators to run because "the gas station was going to explode" Found out later the septa train hit a car and a fuel truck at the crossing. (Where Steam and Oscar Huber are today) The fuel truck and car exploded as did the train engine. Across the street (knowles ave and 232) there was a gas station (pretzel shop today) and apparently the fire wasnt under control yet and the flaming fuel had made its way closer to gas station via a concrete culvert that ran under the road. My dad was talking to a hysterical women who witnessed the accident and she said a man ran from one of the vehicles completely engulfed in flames and screaming. A customer ran out of the nearby Donut Time shop and tackled the guy while another bystander took his jacket off and wrapped it around the burn victim. Sounded like a frickn nightmare. Its one of those events you see and never forget. My school was right next to the accident site and i remember hoping i would have off the next day (i didn't). It was all anyone talked about in school the next day. The damaged blackened septa engine and a passenger car were in the Strahmann lumber parking lot and after school we ran over to check it out.

ChalBrit Regional EMS provides service to 7 municipalities with two locations. They have approximately 300+ calls answered each month of which approximately half require Advanced Life Support assistance during transport. Due to decisions made by their Board regarding staff leadership roles, they have had 6 people submit resignations, with at least 6 more promising to do the same, including the potential of the medical director resigning (in the statements at the end of the meeting) which would ultimately force the EMS to cease operations.
Public outcry would seem appropriate imho
I've been living in CB and am curious as to why New Yorkers are moving to Bucks at such an alarming rate? Is it politics? Housing? Does this also explain the increase in diversity?
I browse X and I'm not a nazi.
banning X links seems like the petty political gatekeeping that won Trump the election.
is RT banned? u/critacle
I just bought a house in bucks county in Pensburry school district. My all bedrooms are on 2nd floor, and I would like to have one room build on 1st floor for office purpose/ also if my grandma comes to visit me, she can sleep in a room downstairs easily. How much would it cost? I want a small room 10x 10 only. How to start the process and how much would it cost? Any good contractors you know that I can reach out to?
Are there any local film clubs or groups that get together to watch and talk about movies?
